Excellent points there bro...I got what you meant and I gave my bike for service two days ago...my major complaints were infirmed especially the brakes..
The odo was replaced but the same issue of 99.9kmpl trip mileage came up while driving home.
The service center guys informed me that the brakes are completely fine and that's how they are in these bikes it seems..wtf..he just informed me saying that rear brakes are useless and won't have NY bite whatsoever and will remain spongy.
The front brakes locked up due to emergency braking.

I am a N300 owner and therefore my experience with the brakes is going to be slightly different. That said all braking systems work on the same general principles. There is no rocket science or voodoo magic involved in brakes. I am assuming that what you are saying here is that the rear brake has wooden feeling and does not give you any feedback when you apply it nor does it lock up no matter how hard you try. If that is the case then you need to first open the complete system up, give it a through cleaning. I would suggest using fully synthetic Motul Dot 3&4 oil and ensuring a proper bleed is done. A proper bleed will require patience and tenacity.

The other thing to look at is the pads. If the brake pads were not properly run in (also called bedding in) then they are going to be less than effective. It normally takes about 150 to 300 kms to properly bed the pads in. Bedding in of pads is not just the process of matching break pad surface with the disc rotor surface, it is also the process for conditioning of the brake pad material. If too much of heat is generated while brake pads are fresh it causes the brake pad material to bake into hard glazed material which then has no bite and provides very little friction hence making the brakes unresponsive.

Hence, my suggestions are:

1) Clean the brake system and replace oil with Motul DOT 3&4 fully synthetic oil.
2) Ensure that the system is bled thoroughly and properly.
3) Replace the brake pads.

As a end note; Locking your brakes is not a sign of good brakes, its a indicator that you have overwhelmed the braking system's ability to slow you down in a safe controlled manner.

You know I am so scared of buying that bike just because of lack of ABS. . . ESPECIALLY with all the gravel we have on Indian roads! Im glad to hear you did not crash because locking the front tire can get really bad really quick. I'v done it on a cbr250 at low speed. My poor bike just tumbled over.

TELL KAWASAKI TO GET ABS ON ER6N !!!! OTHER COUNTRIES HAVE IT! ! ! If they get ABS i will buy the bike over Triumph any day. .. . Ride safe man and DO keep us posted on the brake issue.

its been a long time since i posted here. Sorry guys was busy with ground zero....Now am back and just finished with a long long drive thanks to ibw.

Three days trip consisting of...
Day 1. Ride to pune. was riding with the knogs to IBW when i realised i have come this far so why not push on to pune to meet some friends. It was beautiful as all along the way the guys were riding from pune to goa for the ibw. loads of biker greetings as we blasted on the highway on the opposite directions.
Day 2. After the previous evening outing with friends started on the journey from pune to goa through nipani. Along the way realised that the saddle bags got scarred and torn on the tire side thanks to the frequent rubbing against each other. My saddle bags were designed for the hyabusa type of bikes and allows for a pillion which i realised late. reached around 4 in the evening the long time due to the ghats. the rest of the evening was ibw which the deafening harleys and rest of the sbks. the steal of the show were the goldwings. you seriously need to give way and bow down in respect.
Day 3. Started the journey back home with the knogs at 11 and reached home by 9ish..

The ride was amazing and the first long ride test of the beast. the observations:
1. the chain is good for 1k kms with lubing in between.
2. The seats can be good for 600kms after which it starts to get uneasy and you will have to do a tiger ride(standing on the pegs).
3. The bike can do a constant 135kmph with ease. Anything above means a ton of wind blast.
4. The rear brakes are non existent though most of us use only the front brakes for everything and some dont even remember using the rear brakes. The brakes failed miserably when i had to perform emergency braking the front tire locked and jumped while the rear brakes did nothing. went directly to asc on reaching Goa. He bleeded the brakes and we tried. No improvement at all. Even he check and he was clueless. My bike is only 5k on the odo. The kawa guys better have a good explanation as there is no abs and you cant have your breaks fail at excess of 130kmph.

Thanks for the quick response. Sorry for the late reply. I think i will have to wait a bit longer........ Just the other day i get a call from the showroom that i will get my bike only in first week of March and that too no promise no commitment. The reason they gave me was that they don\'t have bike in stock. Bloody, i was the first person in Goa to book the bike and that to after 14 days of official launch of the bike in India. Can you imagine, they actually told me to go for Ninja 650. Such pathetic suggestion. If i wanted to buy Ninja 650 i would i brought it long back! They were not even apologetic when i was informed. I was made to feel as if i am at their mercy and they are giving me the bike in charity they.

Kindly let me know your experience with the bike. I am sure it will nothing be less than heaven....

Iam compelled to call the er6n a \\\'monster\\\' as thats the initial feeling i got when i first rode it.will surely be posting a new thread about it. Just cudnt control myself from breaking this news to you.

Just a few days remaining for the beast to be owned. Some RTO issues delaying the registration process. Seems all the RTOs in Mumbai have banned the agents from their premises. Hope this goes in a positive direction for the public. But as of now this unnecessary wait is bothering me. Iam getting a bit impatient to lay my hands on the er6n although Iam getting it well before the expected date the dealer had promised me. :P
Regarding the brakes, many have indeed upgraded to steel braided lines alongwith pads. And it has brought a whole lot of difference to the braking. Well here Iam talking about the ninja owners. Yet to see if there is any diff in er6n brakes.

The braking is fine though most upgrade to steel braided lines and ebc brake pads. ABS is a necessity because of the power. But you can always overcome it by your riding habits.

This is my first write up on the XBHP.

I just had the opportunity to read about the experience of guys who have just purchased the ER6N. i have booked mine at Goa. The saddest part is that i was the first person in Goa to book the ER6N way back on 10th November, but till date i am waiting for the delivery. As rightly said, the Sales persons are least bothered about the delivery of my bike. Though they have confirmed the delivery on 20th Jan, but i have my own reservations. Hope to lay my hands on the bike at the earliest and share my experience.

Just as curious as i am, does the baking of the bike is good enough. I watched some reviews and every one felt the need for ABS for the Indian Road condition. Is it so?

Will get back with the bike pics as the earliest. Hope to get it soon.......

I was facing two issues with my bike.
1. Vibration sound at 3000 rpm which turned out to be excessive play in the air valve in the tank cap.
2. My odo showing 99.9kmpl at time and huge variation in trip mileage even at constant speeds.

Visited the service center after which the tank cap was reassembled and the vibration issue resolved. The odo seems to be faulty and they have ordered the replacement and waiting for it to arrive. Both were covered under warranty.

The bike does collect a lot of dust
