If its clean then all is well, to make sure inspect the SP tip as well for wet oil stains, if both are well then oil burning is completely out of the issue.

What is not well is your oil drain interval, extended drain intervals and hoopla oils seem to be the Indian middle class mentality seeping into motorcycling but if you do your own research from reliable sources you'd reach the conclusion that its best to stick to the thumb rule of 2k km's per 1 liter oil.

That was just a suggestion as for oil levels, thumb rule is if it ain't burning oil and if the oil level ain't dropping much then there isn't really anything to worry about.

I have done exactly the same.. whipped the silencer off.. (taken pictures prior) and simply am driving at around 70 kmph to check for any issue. I do not drive gixxer more than 75 kmph during weekdays as there is seldom a road at my time to be free. And also to replicate the conditions under which the stains came to existence. Still I am not able to replicate the issue.

Spark plug is completely dry!! The walls of silencer has deposit of carbon only, not a moist oily paste.

Regarding the oil change interval, manufacturer of oil typically suggests the amount of kms you can drive, which is around 4k for semi-synthetic. It may seems a waste of oil as well as money to change the oil prior to manufacturer recommended period. Though first time services for break-in should be 2k spaced for oil changes for removing the metal debris.

I am simply removing the oil from the magneto-cover during washing today, to check whether the oil oozes out ..

BTW additional information, I had added "eftek solution" into the fuel for last-to-last petrol fill, 2 pouches for 7.5 liter of petrol for cleaning of valves and carburettor. (You can feel the difference)

It's true that I copy pasted the post I was just trying to help.. But, you don't know why I did that am poor at explaining things.. But, that doesn't means that I don't know anything about motorcycles.. I very well know how maintain and properly work on a motorcycle without anyones help & Keep your knowledge with yourself professor.

Chill dude, if you know enough to keep your motorcycle running fine then all is good.

Unfortunately a good number of people here do not know that, hence it would do us all good to double check what we share with others, because no matter how good our intentions are it wouldn't serve anyone any good if something bad actually comes out of it, especially with eager SVC's and FNG's simply waiting to try their luck on hapless motorcyclists.

Recently, I have discovered some oil spots outside of my gixxer sf silencer, seems to be one time instant but still worrisome:-

There is NO white smoke from the silencer nor any oil deposits anywhere in the tubes:-

The oil level is also maintained (image is upside down)

I am not able to figure out where the oil drops have came from? Can anyone guide me?

The choice is up to you, if you're in the mood you can take the cover apart to replace seal/boot if its available separately, else you'd have to replace the stator or simply makeshift with the help of sealant to take care of the leak.

Though personally since its just a vapor leak I wouldn't give it urgent priority, In my P220 I've had vapor leaks for over 30k km's which I've not bothered to fix as I'm waiting for something major to overhaul so I'd be able to replace the seal/gasket along with it, doesn't make sense for me to simply open up things every now and then for insignificant issues.

@Others, take a chill-pill mates, a minor oil stain here or there doesn't warrant a rebuild.

The most common cause of motorbikes leaking oil from the exhaust is that there is a greater proportion of this fluid recommended for gasoline blending. This mismatch causes excess oil to be removed from the exhaust. Generally, the percentage thereof should be 2% but it is best that you consult the manual of your bike to check.

In the event that there is no problem with the mixture ratio, the cause of the the bike's oil leakage can be found in the carburetor float. This is a tilting member which floats on gasoline, which is also called float. When the mixture is at a certain level, the float closes a valve which blocks the supply of gasoline. If the float fails, it can cause the Oil output from the exhaust of the motorcycle.

A crankshaft main bearing seal that is broken can also cause that the bike's oil leakage. Deterioration of this element causes the oil to pass to the crankshaft and eventually be expelled from the exhaust end.

Changing the oil filter could also end up with a problem where the bike will leak oil from the exhaust. 10,000 or 20,000, proceed to perform this maintenance task that should not be overlooked. In general, every two oil changes motorbike, You must replace the filter.

Another cause that makes the bike leak is worn piston rings. In the event that the wear is very strong, these rings may become split. So if you meet this symptom, do not discount this possibility.

The problem is we dont know where its coming from. Oil doesnt simply leak from the combustion chamber and make its way all the way to the exhaust tip like that. It will either burn off or stay in the Catalytic converter.

Your best option is to take it to a service center, and get the exhaust header disconnected and check for leaks. If there is a leak then you have a Seal failure, in which case the SVC will advice you on what to do next.

2) 10W40 oil shell semi
3) 2500 kms on current oil. will change around 4k-5k as per the mfger manual.
4) daily run 26*2= 50~60 kms
5) 53-57 kmpl average

Your guidance will help me a lot!!

I think the engine oil is leaking due to the damage of piston rings from there it goes to the combustion chamber and then it comes to exhaust through exhaust valve.

I checked it just now. I didn't face any problem. And I don't think it's due to ABS.

I was facing break lever issue in my Gixxer SF FI ABS variant. I went to the SVC but they ignored the issue. Then I raised the complaint against them on suzuki helpline and SVC called me back and changed break fluid and cleaned break pads as well, But I am still facing issue. After going to SVC again I spoke with there adviser he told me this is because of ABS. When you pull break lever continuously or while going through bumpy road break lever gets stuck and only after releasing it fully I can pull it. I tested another ABS variant bike from the SVC and faced the same issue. Does anybody else from here have faced this issue?

What's the difference between Motion 7199 and 300V? (both 10W40)

I'm planning to change the oil from Shell AX7. I live in Bangalore and I ride for 15 KM's in a day. So to which should I switch to? Also, should I use any engine flush?

300v is not recommended. It is designed to sustain heavy stress for a short duration, as in a track event. You can't expect much life from it.

7100 is good and you can expect around 5000 kms.

No need for any oil flush but you may use one if you wish to.
