You can do 5k rpm or 60 kmph in top gear, whichever is higher with no issues. Also don't shift under 3.5k rpm. Babying the engine is the 2nd worst thing you can do to any engine, with redlining being the first. Don't give a damn about what manual says. As long as you are not ripping the hell out of the bike, you should be fine. Nothing bad in running 5k rpm.

Thanks man. I've been shifting between 3-4k RPM before the 1st service. I'll change that .

Since its in the run in period and I don't want any problems with the engine later, I take utmost care with the revs and the rev matching with each gear.
What do you think? At 1k kms is it time to take it above 4k rpm?

Don't baby the bike. Ride the bike like you'll do on a normal bike. For long rides, take 10 min breaks after every 100-150km or 2hrs, whichever is earlier.

Guys, after the 1st service what is the recommended RPM?
According to the manual it's under 7k so around 85-90km/hr but I've read a lot of people saying to keep the bike under 4k RPM the entire run-in period i.e. 1600kms (I'm currently at 1000kms)
So should I keep it under 4k or under 7k RPM?
Also can you do breakfast rides (400-500kms) during run-in?

Sometimes the self start on my bike (sf fi) won't work (4 times so far) but it works after I roll the bike a little and stop with engine braking. Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

Has anyone changed the seat foam? It's too hard and I am planning to change/add foam to make it softer. Can someone please help me?

Coming to replacing of tyres...

What will be effect on ride, if I replace the radial tyre with a non-radial tyre at rear but of same size? 140/60? Please comment...

Check the tyres on the bike then. It's not written on the front tyre that it's radial

This tyre says R17. So it's a radial. Manual may have a printing mistake. You can ask others.

I don't any bike manufacturer will offer a radial and non radial tyre in the same bike.

Check the tyres on the bike then. It's not written on the front tyre that it's radial

Yes you can definitely go with radials on the front. Most modern bikes come with radials in the front as standard equipment. Not sure why the Gixxer doesnt get Radials in the front from factory.

Its not a printing mistake. Gixxer comes with Bias ply at the front and Radial at the rear.

Zapper FX is the stock front tyre not FYM

It is radial too.
