Congratulations on the beauty.. some pics please. I'm looking for an ABS R3 as well of similar vintage. Can you share the deal price here or in PMOriginally posted by _ravishankar_ View PostI have just picked up a used magma black Yamaha YZF R3 (Aug 2018 manufactured). 5564 kms on the odo.
Initial impression is that the refined twin cylinder engine is a beauty and would bring a lot of smiles per km. Hope to cover a lot of happy miles on this beauty.

Hi,
Have you checked with any Yamaha Dealer regarding the availability of R3. I have booked one on 11th of Jan 2019 and I have still not gotten a date of delivery from the Dealer. It's almost 3 months now. They are saying that the production of Blue R3 has not started yet. Can you check with any of the Yamaha Dealer that you are planning to buy from regarding this? :-)

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
thanks that helps.Originally posted by Gollum View PostYes, it is at the default preload setting.
But if you reduce it to make a softer ride, the front part (pipe) of the silencer will hit the speed Bump.
However, this will happen only on illegal speed bumps that are usually found on village type of roads or areas.
The speed bumps that are short and very steep and already have marks of other vehicles that would have scraped over them are the ones to stay away from.
If the Preload is on a higher side of the default setting then no worries, it wont touch the speed bump at all even with two-up riding.

R3OG KA G2G 2019 ; Kotagiri, TN
Hey guys, long time!!
Here's a small update from my side.
We, as R3OG KA Chapter, had our 3rd annual G2G over the 3rd weekend of March (16-17), 2019.
28 of us rode to Kotagiri, Tamil Nadu and had a ball of a time.
What started as a small spark of G2G in the WhatsApp group led to a huge fruitful turnout this year.
Here are a few pics for you guys to enjoy
I'll try to pen down a detailed travelogue as and when i find time.
Breakfast stop at Hotel Kamat Madhuvan, Mysuru-Ooty road
Refreshment stop before entering Bandipur Tiger Reserve
One picture with the owners
Bikes parked at the stay at Kotagiri
After having our lunch and freshening up, some of the riders went to Kodanadu ViewPoint.
Some of them took a nap and woke up to admire the views of the Sunset at the stay.
And some of them took a stroll inside the tea estate and admired all the greenery
The day ended with some yummy food, soft drinks, beers, whiskey, introductory session with lots and lots of experiences, ride stories and bakar
Bonfire put to good use
Next morning, some of them rode to Sundatty Waterfalls which is some 23 kms from the stay.
Spent some time here and returned to the stay. Plan was to have breakfast and head back to Bengaluru.
But before we left, here's a mandatory group picture
Reminiscing this picture from our annual G2G of 2018 which was held at Chikkamagaluru. Notice how the line-up looked similar both the years?
Anyway, the R3's performed exceptionally well on the highways, ghats, slight off-roads. Nobody had any issues with any of the bikes in the whole of 800 odd kms of the ride.
That's all from my side, for now
NOTE - Some of the pictures are clicked by the respective owners and they solely belong to them. Not all pictures are clicked by me. Pictures were shared into the Google Drive common folder and pictures are being used here with prior permissions from the owners.Last edited by Ashwiin Napster; 04-03-2019, 09:42 PM.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yes it does get transferred.Originally posted by _ravishankar_ View PostDoes the warranty for a used bike get transferred to the new owner if the bike is still under the Warranty period ? Planning to pick up a used Yamaha R3.
Any pointers will be of great help.
Just be clear with paper work, all correct details should be there in RC card, and duly signed handover declaration(I guess form 30).
Get Insurance also transferred on time.
If you want NCB also transferred then for that additional procedure is there and you need to visit insurance office branch to fill up the NCB transfer form.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hope you are doing fine.Originally posted by K17 View PostHi Everyone,
Need your help. I recently got into an accident on my R3. Where can I get frame sliders in India?
Thanks
You can checkout for R&G frame sliders and PUIG sliders available in stores like Performance Racing store and Red Line Racing store.
R&G has 2 dealers in India.
There is one more brand, Evo Worx Sliders, made by a manufacturer in Bangalore itself. Pretty good quality and quite good number of community members are using it. Available on Amazon India.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
First of all, mine is a Non-abs model and the length and number of lines are different from ABS model(Guessing yours is an ABS 2018 model).Originally posted by kailashnj View PostDo you know the length of the front brake line. Is it 1000mm or 1200mm. I am eyeing to buy the steel braided lines myself for my 2018 R3, but don't know the length of the brake line and hence can't order.
Regards,
Kailash
Second, you can take a tape and measure it . 5 minutes
Third, from where are you ordering based on length ? HEL ? Several companies like EBC, Galfer make ready made ones for the R3.
