Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The common Maruti 1.2L filters should fit fine, though I do not want to take a chance. Oil filter prices were recently increased from 360/- TO 478/-. Not only oil filter, most of the parts have seen a marginal price increase.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View Post

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Wheel balancing is the least a rider considers when replacing tires. But the enlightened ones do go by the dots on the tires, if they don't have the right vendor nearby. Nonetheless, balancing helps eliminate those unnecessary vibrations and handlebar oscillations on the front end, where weighing them is necessary. I see, oil filter is exorbitantly priced. I think taking the old filter to a car parts shop will give us a cheaper alternative. Nevertheless, appreciate the update mate.Originally posted by Ivin View PostService Update. KMS run: 25,000. Total Cost : 3842/-
Cost Breakup -
Oil - Motul 7100 10w40 - 1722/-
Oil Filter - 478/-
Air filter - 518/-
Clutch Cable - 304/-
Clutch Switch - 200/-
Wheel Balancing
This is something which bikers ignore or doesn't care for, Wheel balancing on a two wheeler! We can see weights on a new motorcycle from factory and we could see the same weight even after 5 years of usage which just means we have ignored that area. We have Madhus Enterprises near Langford Road who does a great job on 2 wheeler's wheel balancing and it was no different for me. The rear took in 35 gms of weight on the left side and I have to say I did feel the rear wheel to be more planted after the balancing. Minimum to no difference was felt in the handling department, but I do have a peace of mind that I am running with perfectly balanced wheels.
Cheers!

I have had this thing in my mind for a while now. My front kinda feels offset for a while now. For long, i was thinking that the culprit is my Michelin tyres, since they're heavy, but i will get this done soon and check. My 11th service is due and will hopefully get it done sometime next week. Will visit the Michelin center at HSR Layout and get the wheel balancing done too. Thanks for bringing this up

Service Update. KMS run: 25,000. Total Cost : 3842/-
Have ran around 5,000 kms since last oil change, which was at the time of the last recall and had to go with Yamalube FS oil and this was the time to revert back to Motul 7100 FS oil. During this service, I replaced oil, oil filter, air filter, clutch switch and bought a clutch cable as backup.
The clutch switch had conked off one fine morning last week and had to be replaced as cleaning did not help. It came back to life after cleaning with WD40, but would only crank 5 out of 10 times in gear. As I run through Bangalore traffic and switches off the bike whenever possible, I did not have to think too much and replaced it. Costs 200/-. Oil filter price has been increased. The service was done from Highlander Ventures, HSR layout as usual and the job was perfect without any confusions.

Stickers
I had no stickers on the bike, rather removed them all and now got back the fairing stickers. As Yamaha India doesn't sell stickers separately, had to get hold of one from Yamaha USA.Last edited by Ivin; 05-24-2019, 10:44 AM.

Just curious, is this the MY2019 model? If so, what was the on-road price? Asking because a friend was interested to buy one and he was denied saying that there are no stocks as of now.

Hey Buddy,Originally posted by whytryharder View PostGuys, since my last query went unanswered. Here I am again. Is there a lockable side pannier (lovingly known as dikki) available for R3 that serves the purpose and at the same time doesn't spoil the looks of this machine? I have to travel three different companies with two laptops that aren't allowed inside each other's premises hence have to kept in the pannier.
Hope to get a response this time.
Sorry that you didn't get any answer. One of the reason for that is, nobody that I am aware of has got such a lockable side pannier fitted on their R3, at least in India.
There is company called Hepco Becker who has such offerings for R3.
You will need to buy the metal mounting system and the panniers from them. They roughly cost about 30k as far as I am aware.
Hence most of us use Tail bags from Rynox, Vaiterra etc which turns out to be way more cost effective.
