Re: Mahindra Mojo Owners Reviews and Experiences
Heard that the engine is BS6 ready , though for vehicle to be registered as BS6 there are few changes also apart from the engine hence you can see the BS4 registration.Originally posted by varunrao94 View Post

Re: Mahindra Mojo Owners Reviews and Experiences
Referring to the recent articles, it seems that mojo would have a BSIV engine, not a BSVI one.

Apologies for the terrible picture quality. My phone camera decides to get fogged up the moment the build is complete. :|

I did read the entire thread on Tbhp, and I must say mounting the headlight assembly on to fixed chassis instead of the fork assembly is brilliant.Originally posted by jazzysaravana View PostGuys did you see this thread in teambhp?
What an interesting mod makes the Mojo look like the old Karizma and finally a bit more exciting too.
You've fixed headlight throw on to the road ahead no matter where your handle is pointing.
50/50 opinion on the custom made side faring.

Note: A a startup idea to make existing Mojo riders to buy the full fairing kit..

Re: Mahindra Mojo Owners Reviews and Experiences
Even I'm no expert about motorcycles, simply used the information provided by the manufacturer and cross-checked on Gearing Commander.Originally posted by [email protected] View PostVery good point Ashwin..though I am not that technically sound about bikes..but I understand in general sense that a single 300 to 400 motor churning out around 30 bhp of power and good torque is good enough to cruise from 90 to 110 kph...Mojo does 90 kmph at 5k rpm in 6th gear and stays relaxed, which is good enough for touring purpose...plus Mojo is heavy and if you are carrying luggage (for me it's always the case), I don't think going beyond 110 is a good idea for me because roads in India are full of surprises but that does not mean that it won't go...
I share the same feelings about highway speeds, practically doesn't make sense, plus my home state is Kerala, where the average speed from one end to the other would be an average of 30kmph.
I've ridden my CT100B on the Golden Quadrilateral circuit and covered close to 8k km's before returning home, and even with the puny motorcycle I was able to do anywhere from 700~900km's daily on good days, which coincidentally is more or less the same average distances I cover while riding interstate on my P220 on which I do speeds of 100~130kmph on the speedo. Hence my understanding from my experience is that you don't really need to go at insane speeds to haul ass on the highways.
Plus you're spot on about Indian conditions, it's truly crazy, from SUV's obliterating cow's at insanely high speeds to idiots driving tractors in the wrong side in pitch darkness and what not is what I have experienced through out my ride. From what I've seen and experienced so far, a person should have to be practically stupid to try International speed's on our highways.
Edit:
Just a FYI of cruising speeds of the RE line up computed on gearing commander at peak torque RPM:
UCE350: 94.1 kmph
UCE500: 107.8 kmph
UCE535: 112.1 kmph
Himalayan: 90.8 kmph
Interceptor: 96.5 kmph
Unfortunately the Mojo's info wasn't in the database hence couldn't get info for the same with respect to cruising speed.

Ideally the comfortable cruising speed of a motorcycle is at its peak torque, that is even under max load and incline the rev's would not go below the peak torque. As for top speed that would be at the RPM where the motorcycle makes peak power due to the obvious, now you could argue that you could cruise or go faster at higher RPM's but then that would depend on a multitude of external factors i.e payload, wind resistance and what not.
Hence for example on my P220 I consider the cruising speed to be at 100kmph which comes at 7000 RPM and the top speed to be at 125kmph which comes at 8500 RPM, both are true speeds, for speedo indicated speed you could add another 5kmph to it.
Another example for the Himalayan computed on Gearing Comander, at peak torque the motorcycle does 90kmph and at peak power it does 135kmph. Which seem to the similar to the speed's you've mentioned from your experience with the motorcycle.
I believe if people do a bit of reading and understanding before opting for a motorcycle it would help them vastly when it comes to avoiding any unpleasant surprises mid ownership.

Bang on!Originally posted by [email protected] View PostThat's the problem with people...they don't understand engines and bikes...they only see 150 kph speed... 'oh my god my bike is not going above 140'
Mojo is a touring motorcycle not a race bike like a R15 or a RC...I don't think doing speeds of 140 and 150 is really safe on Indian roads...plus this bike is not meant for 150 kmph speeds...if you are looking for outright acceleration and top speed...Mojo is the wrong bike for you to be very honest...
I would also add that so called experts and customers in INDIA are not matured and not updated.
