I recently bought a Mojo XT300 from the same DP motors. As far as i know, the sales person there Mr. Chandrasekar is really a good person and i don't know why you have not got a test ride yet. I called them through phone and i got to test ride the bike on the same day. you could use my name if you want to ;-)

Regarding the Test ride bike, they don't have the XT300 for test ride instead it is a 2016 model which is actually still in a good shape

Yes it could take a month. But i got the bike within a month. They actually promise 10 days but it might get delayed due to less demand. Patience is a critical factor if you want to own a Mojo in Chennai The sales person will be very open to you and they will let you know when you would receive your bike. to be frank 1 month is not too high ;-) 3 years ago we need to wait 3 or 4 months to get a RE classic 350 Black. Now it is reduced due to high demand.

I love the Mojo XT300 and would like to get it as soon as possible. But DP Motors,Chennai could not get me a test ride for the past 10 days. Its quite annoying that there is only one showroom in Chennai and it cannot even provide a test ride. Moreover, the waiting period seems to be around a month which is too damn high.

(Appreciation to Adhip for keeping the thread alive, without which I couldn't be sure if I will get a response to the query I am about to post.)
So here it goes:

I have been craving for Mojo since (at least) 2 years and been holding back due to the budget constraints.
I didn't go with UT300, as it's not fitting the deal, in my opinion.
Now, there is an opportunity to by a used Mojo with the following details and the owner quoted INR 135,000 for it.
I request your help to decide whether I should consider the offer and any specific questions I should get answered before considering.

1) Date of purchase: December 2015,
2) Generation: First
3) Emission norm: BS3
4) Kilometre ridden: Less than 1000
5) Document compliance: Insurance expired and the owner confirmed he can get it renewed
6) Reason for sale: Back pain caused by the job profile and not riding the Mojo
7) Condition: Good enough

I realise it's quite possible the bike may well have niggles reported by First generation owners.

Until I finalize on the round dome with a 100W bulb, I plan to put in a nice big visor above the headlights and the bik'e good to go as-is. Here is a pic that was floating somewhere on facebook that illustrates -

As a bonus, the bike becomes rather light at the front leading to improved flickability, at least psychologically.

I am from Trivandrum. Have read almost all the responses in this thread before buying Mojo.
I had waited nearly a year for ABS and finally gave up and bought Mojo. Just to let you all know how I ended up buying Mojo; A short Time Line.


Early 2016: Casual chat with wife reg fav bikes and I tell her about RE-GT. Asked me when I am going to buy...
Mid-2016: Research on quarter litre bikes starts. Dropped GT as it was over priced for what it offered and was beyond my budget.
June-2016 : Came to know about Himalayan. Was promising but dropped it after knowing about numerous issues it had.
Then I looked for alternative and thats when I saw Mojo. I fell in love with its design and stance.
However lot of concerns so I thought would wait for the 2017 model in which they would address the issues.
Dec 2016 : Enter Dominar. Stunning bike with ABS and slipper clutch. Dominar was VFM however my eyes were still on Mojo.
And in 2017 updated Mojo was released but no ABS yet. Wait was still on.
September 2017: Test drove Mojo. I liked it instantly. Then came rumors of low-cost Mojo. Again waited. Thought Mahindra would bring options with Mojo this time;With ABS as high end and without ABS as low end.
February 2018: Mojo UT300 with carb released and no sign of ABS yet. Test drove UT300 and XT300 back to back. UT300 was a nimble driving in the traffic unlike XT300.
However the USD,FI and Pirelli did make a difference.


Booked Charcoal black Mojo XT300 by March 2018 End. Got Mojo on the first week of April.
Got the first service done yesterday.


I thank all the guys who contributed to this thread. Reading all of this clarified and increased my confidence to go ahead with Mojo.
All these days my account wasn't approved and couldnt post.And finally I got it approved today
Now happy to have the tourer .

It looks a lot more appealing without the dome. A visor would be great to improve the looks.

One more question. How are the breaks compared to when you brought new?

Having been inspired by Adhip, I'm putting in an update here as well. The bike is about 2 and a half years old, done about 16K kms. I got the side panels blackened and took off the OE dome and am planning for a single round dome later. Here is how it looks currently -

Also, I got the chainset changed today. Cost including labour and taxes was Rs 2336
