  • [Ownership Thread]: Benelli TNT 25 Ownership Experience

Baby Benelli AKA TYRION Has Arrived

I am trying to write something the first time, please excuse me for any mistakes

All the comparison done here will be with KTM, as that was my last bike

I was using a KTM RC 200 for an year now, it was a fun bike to ride, But been a short Rider 5.6 and bikes aggressive siting posture in traffic it was not really a cake walk , It was becoming really difficult to take the bike to office on daily basis, with helmet the neck / back and then the wrist use to pain. At times i use to come downstairs to go by bike but eventually use to take car leaving the bike behind, reason lot of pain. i did merely around 8K KM and it was lying in the parking for last 2 months untouched/unused, Eventually decided to sell it of and got a good buyer and price for the same, so SOLD.

Personal opinion KTM RC200 is a fantastic bike, but it not made for daily commutes.

    Lesson Learnt
: I will not buy any bike with fairing and sports sitting posture, bike should be test rode for at least 10 KM before buying it.

    New Bike Hunt.

    KTM Duke 200
: This bike was always on my mind while selling RC, because it was comfortable and i just loved the excellent machine and was readily available. I even booked one and was waiting for funds availability.

Honda CBR 250 : I went for a test ride, and really felt it is getting old did not like the updated colors at all. Dropped.

Mahindra MOJO : I remember how eagerly i was waiting for this bike when its website was leaked and the awesome mahindra teaser, was refreshing XBHP whole day to get details, Went to check it Test ride bike was not available, so again went after a week still No, So I just said No as i promised my self not to buy anything before getting a long satisfying test drive. Dropped.

    KTM Duke 390
: I always wanted to buy it and has all the bells and whistles, ABS, Slipper Clutch but It was out of my budget, you may laugh on me, but my budget was strictly 2L, and this was going around 220K, and If in future I have to upgrade from benelli to some 600CC bike i have to run on tight budget. And again I found benellie Fresh and new so.Dropped.

I had finalized KTM Duke 200 made booking and was working on funds to complete the payment. 12 December was as usual browsing XBHP/Team BHP and some other bike portals and saw the news of DSK benelli TNT 25 launching soon on 18th December. Just out of curiosity gave a call to DSK Benellie Showroon and asked if they are taking bookings, first call was unanswered, second call the guy on the call was not interested probably and was not sure.
The first call which was unanswered gave me a call back and asked for details, he said he will get back to me.

On Monday Morning got a call from the same guy and said they will take booking, I agreed to book the bike on conditions like, first complete refund if I don't like the bike in flesh, second a longish test ride and third it should not be more than 2Lacs on road. He agreed and came all the way to Office on the TNT 300, took the cheque for booking and also gave a test drive on Benelli 300, Man 300 is a hell of a machine the way it sounds is awesome and the ride quality was good, i was completely sold but it was out of my budget so i let it go with a heavy heart. I am stupid

Then came the day 18th december was in office refreshing XBHP launch thread and asking a questions to Monk, It was launched at the price of 168 ex showroom and was completely in my budget even when i Took the Metzelers tyres and 0 Dep Insurance saved 3K lol.

    First Impression

At 1:30 PM got a call from the sales guy that the bike is available for display and you can have a look at it, went to showroom(its near my office) and the bike did look good in flesh and the best part was the built quality it had Italian written all over even though it is manufactured in china . Got the keys to check the exhaust note and it was no were close to TNT 300, but yes it was much better then the KTM (Personal Opinion) and it has a lot bass in it.

    First Ride Impression

Sat on the bike and the first thing was, the seat it was a SPA to my Butt Lol, Sitting posture was very Comfortable. ignition o, Annoying FI started, waited for a few seconds, Started the bike, It sounded good nothing extra ordinary and was not loud. First Gear, The clutch was kind of heavy.
Now the best part it was really smooth and it had that kind of whistle sound in it, i cannot really explain it, but the first time i took out KTM it did not really bought that Grin on my face or the excitement on my face which i got when i was ridding it. yes there were vibration and the brakes were kind of sluggish. The exaust sounds good, The throttle response is good and not hyper like duke, it handles well and is quick. The handle bar is little heavy compared to duke.
The potholes and bumps were soaked really well, i took it on few big bumps and it did not scrape the belly pan. I also took my brother as pillion for few KM's and he was comfortable on the bike, he is 6.1 and weight 78KG . Overall I was a happy customer,
and it did tick the last point for my purchase that was comfort.

The booking was finalized and i told him to confirm my booking and wanted the delivery in first week of January.

    Delivery
It was good, he called me one day prior and told me to be in the showroom by 3, they make all the customer feel special, took all the documents.
Then went to the benellie ramp, bike was covered removed it. they provided garland, pooja thali and coconut/sweets, also had 7 liters of petrol in it, pretty generous, KTM provided one liter and key in hand no briefing nothing not even a single flower, it was not even washed when i went to take it. few picture and off we go.
The way it sounds every next signal you get a new question, also had 7 litres of petrol in it.

yeh benelli benellie kya hai yeh benelli benelli lol.(What bike is this benellie ?)

    Kitna Deti hai (Average ?)

Kitne Ki hai (How much ?)

Anyways I am happy with my purchase as of now and expecting a better service for now.

Congrats dude. Waiting for this thread to happen since the bike was launched last month. Do post your experiences as soon as possible. When I have had enough of my Gixxer, seriously considering this or the 300 as "The next one". Cheers.

On-road price in Bangalore is 2.10 lakhs for the standard and 2.18 Lakhs for the premium model. The Duke 390 seems a better buy.

I guess it strongly depends on the requirement. Cannot just blindly conclude comparing the price.

Refined engine, relaxed position, bigger fuel tank, better pillion comfort = Benelli TNT 25.

Mad power, smaller tank, ABS, better tyre, no pillion comfort, slipper clutch = Duke 390.
