No it's not like that. The light starts blinking when fuel drops below 1.4 ltrs. At least this is the case with my activa 125. Read your manual properly.

The manual says that If only one vertical bar is displayed and blinks, this indicates that the fuel quantity is low and the fuel tank should be refilled as soon as possible.
One vertical bar means the tank will have 1 liter petrol and once it starts blinking which means the quantity is less than 1 liter.(Post number 5 above explains about the fuel gauge and vertical bar display).

They have notmentioned below which quantity the last band will start blinking . I think it should be 1.4 ltrs. So don't worry. Even I had faced similar issues. I thought my activa 125 was giving around 20 kmpl. These electronic units are erratic and are not reliable as conventional ones. Electronic units are only accurate when there is fuel injector & ECU.

I have tried to decode the VIN number of my Meastro Edge..

                Their manual says as :

                Frame No: MBLXXXXABYZXYYYYY

                MBL - Manufacturer code
                XXXXAB - Vehicle Description
                Y - Year of manufacturing
                Z - Assembly Plant
                X - Month of manufacturing
                YYYYY - Serial Number

On the basis of above, I have tried to decode as under:

                VIN Nmbr: MBLJF33AAG4C22641

                MBL - Manufacturer Code (Hero)
JF33 AA - MAESTRO EDGE VX (If last 2 letters are AB, then its LX variant)
                G - 2016
                4 - GURGAON (Assembly Plant)
                C - March
                22641 - Vehicle Serial Number

So, this Vehicle manufactured/assembled in March 2016.!

(I presume above decoding is correct[roll])

re: Hero Maestro Edge Ownership review and experience

As written in one of the post above, the running is low due to hot conditions outside (fearing of sunstroke) we use mostly use car for travelling out. Occasionally use this scooter for quick shopping early in the day or evening. So far clocked only 103kms (in last 15 days).

Scooter doing well without any complaint except that minor vibration at lower speed which I will ask the service center to check during 1st service. My wife found that the seat of this scooter is bigger and comfortable comparing Wego. Eventhough that minor vibration at lower speed, the running is very smooth and at high speed it run neatly and give a feeling that I am on a motor bike...!!

Vibrations will disappear after few services. You can see jeswin's post from Duet thread. He also had vibes which are gone now.

Many congrats on your new purchase. The scooter will be vibe free once it crosses the 3000 km mark.

You have the bike feeling because of the telescopic suspension. I too had the same feeling while riding the duet.

Could you post a pic of the speedometer at night, without turning on the flash in the camera?

Its one week now since I took delivery of the Scooter, but not much running (too hot to go out in the day time). As of now total run 68 kms.

2 things I found so far:

-I have filled up 3 liters of Petrol immediately after taking delivery (the gauge was blinking and the guy told me to fill up oil quickly). Now the fuel gauge again started blinking which means total 66 kms run for 3 liter petrol which equals to 22kmpl only? May be new engine and it behaves like this?

                              - When de accelerating there are some sound like ''crrrrrrrrrrr'' coming from engine or from rear side of the body - What could be the reason??
You have to wait for 3000 kms to get the exact mileage of the scooter. Our duet returns 53 kmpl. So, be patient.

Regarding that crrrr sound from the rear, Duet also had that same sound in lower speeds that is in between 10 to 25 kmph. Once the scooter goes above 30 kmph, it will be smooth without any rattling or vibrating sounds. I found the reason lately. The culprit was the rear number plate and the rear mudguard. Both were touching each other and thus the crrrr sound. You can insert a small rubber piece or a small piece of cardboard in between them. After some 3000 km, you can remove that as the engine will be opened up and the vibrations would've disappeared by then.
