    [Ownership Thread]: Life will never be same again - > The Black Hawk -> Versys 650

    Hello all,

    Today I want to share my feeling about the new love in my life.

    So many feelings and thoughts are running in my head but these are few I could write down.

    Feeling called love is when your motorcycle is twice more expensive and more powerful then your car . Its a childhood dream come true.

    Feeling called love when your wife supports your passion .

    With great powers comes new destinations.

    There was a fierce battle in my head in between 600GT and versys 650 from last 6 months. but I think the satisfaction I get by my ZMR in context to durability, trust, comfort and reliability is phenomenon , because of these criteria being the most important Versys trumped for me over GT.

    There is so much in my head to write but not able to right now.. super excited !!!

    Here I present you my precious "Black Hawk"

    The drive from showroom to home around 15 kms got enough attention and questions then in last 3 years ...     and one more thing it will be first Uttar pradesh registered versys as I was told by the manager ..

    Will be updating soon about ride experiences ..

        some history i wanted to share:

        When I was graduating I asked my parents for a motorcycle but I got a scooter as they thought motorcycle is too risky or it will spoil me somehow. . That day my love for motorcycle doubled that I will buy motorcycle one way or another. that time it was kawaski eliminator which was on my mind but I got bajaj bravo scooter .


        The day I start earning i made sure I got my first bike and it was Avenger . perfect partner it was on many himalayan trips including Leh . Then time came for ZMR and ohh boy what a machine it is... after 45K kms still going strong.. but its just the lust of power and dreams which made me go even higher .

        Initial thoughts:


        its tall feels like sitting in SUV
        Smooth ride
        little clunky gearbox
        front breaks are super awesome , press it and u feel like dropped anchor
        rear brakes not bad
        If thers's a Spirit, I RIDE IT!!!

              I am sooo jealous. .i will be getting the baby v within the month depending on availability

              Do share the buying experience, any test rides you took before, what other bikes than the gt you considered and any and all niggles you can come up with on the v ...along with lots of pics of course

              P.S imho the gt is way less bike than the versys though less expensive

                My buying experience was very good I got it from Noida sec 63 showroom. Guys are great there ..

                Only GT and versys was on my mind.. I test rode GT many times it always excited me but the non-abs was crucial to me. I waited for them to launch ABS but they launched only on 600i which made me very irritated and from then I got serious about Versys.

                gearbox is little clunky as it was exposed by powerdrift guys and some other reviewers , but nothing big. While riding you really feel like riding a tall SUV
                also the rpm setting needs to be little tweaked i think .. the engine stalls sometimes on stand still position.

                Will be posting soon more pics need to get registered number before big rides .

                I got my cover delivered yesterday super awesome will post pics soon.

                    I am curious about the wind protection provided by the semi-faired/faired bikes....specifically between the N650 & Versys650.
                    You can give your impression from your past experience of owning the ZMR. And also earlier you were more inclined towards the Benelli GT so weight of a bike clearly doesn't offset your touring capabilities although your height also favors the selection.

                      Wind protection is pretty good on versys.. with adjustable windshield you can easily put it on highest on highways and zoom pass the force of wind with ease. it really useful when it comes to your neck muscles. I have faces some serious issue while riding ZMR on long continuous journeys of over 150kms on a stretch with 600kms a day. The wind and helmet strains your muscles to limit. So i got installed secondary windshield on my ZMR which moves the air over my helmet and made my life so much easy.

                      With Versys windshield things are sorted in start only

                      Benelli has a small windshield but one can install after market anytime. I didn't give much importance to weight when it came to GT or versys. There were other things like ABS, reliability, better suspension and availability of after market accessories gave me enough reason for the final decision . No doubt I still love GT but my dreams are better secured with versys I guess

                        Hello Guys still waiting to take the black hawk out for spin.. till then the good news is my AUX Lights have reached the showroom will be going to get them fitted tomorrow..

                          Nice that you are getting the aux lights. ..i would very much like to get them fitted too eventually

                          Did you order through the showroom? And do they do the fitting themselves? Do let me know the cost and their performance...please drop me a p.m if you can't share the numbers here

                            They Cost Bomb :40K . I ordered from the showroom only.

                            But they are the best looking lights I can find for it and it comes with Kawasaki badges. Will soon post about the performance of it .

                              I share the same feeling when it comes to above three lines with my N650, just that mine is not twice expensive but a little bit , and last one 'new destinations' well those are yet to happen for good.
