I have a 2006 vintage pleasure and activa , running solidly without issues while Ntorq is always trouble boy . Let me explain.
    1. Delivery
The delivery experience was nothing great to write about where the service center was charging everything extra .
The ex showroom price in the invoice and TVS website was different and show rooms guys were overcharging for insurance and registration.
I did the insurance and registration myself did not find it worth paying 3k extra for showroom - Kathir TVS , trivandrum.
I raised a complaint with company then and they came up with an explanation that TVS website price did not had accessories added in , while the vehicle came factory fitted with mirrors and side step and stand and which was also mandated by law.
    2.Vibrations
There was vibration and clutch issues .After several complaints they have replaced the clutch housing.
    3.Belt scrapping.
Whenever the scoot reaches 50-60 there is a belt scrapping like vibration. Again several complaints made. A TVS engineer came in , replaced the clutch did some tests and after several days i was told it is a common issue in all bike .I asked them to replace the belt but they didn't which i did my own. I tried all the new scooters there and the issue was in every bike and mine appeared to be not that severe. While later on when i replaced the crappy TVS tyres the issue went away.
    4.Plastic clips and nuts.
This is a problem with all first gen scoots the plastic nuts in the foot board side becomes loose , no fix from TVS even the screws are not available with them . I was told to replace them with the new model which dont have screws and i need to pay for them .
    5.Paint peeling
The mirrors started rusting from first year , complaint raised not response from TVS. Paints from engine cover, rear side rest all peeled off, i was told its a common issue and nothing can be done.
6.The ultimate one. In last 4 years I have replaced 4 batteries. The original one conked off in 2 year after the warranty is over. So replaced with a new one . Died after 8 months , again replaced and died in 4 months . Apparently the boot led was not switching off and draining the battery and TVS could not identify and later i did and was corrected .Now replaced the battery with a new exide, which died in 4 months .The TVS service center says no issues with the RR but it is the battery. So my question is will all three brands fail on a bike - Their own battery , Amaron and exide .Then what battery should i put ? Its still not resolved and bike is not dependable.
7.The scoot is literally cannot be ridden on bad road. The suspension is stiff , i know that ,but the problem is with handles with vibrates and jerks causing pain in hand and shoulders. Complaining since last service and nothing was fixed.

As i said in above i haven't faced such a long list of issues even in my 17 year old scooter which is serviced either by me or by a local mechanic. The battery in HH pleasure is 3+ years without issue.
Having some good looks doesn't help if you have a pathetic service to support.
Thank you for posting this. NTORQ and current gen HERO scooters seem to be getting a lot of flak for their poor quality, especially post the BS6 avatar. TVS Jupiter too is another scooter is very notorious for things going wrong.

    Cheers!

Engineers make great products, its the service personnel who spoil them!!

I bought NTORQ on 1st of Jan 2019, so I'm writing all my experiences with this scooter.
    1.Delivery
Worst!: I bought it from Arunagiri TVS at Silkboard, Bangalore. The bike was delivererd with some scratches on the front and on the mirrors, I could hear a squeak near the headlight, and the engine warning was flashing on the first start! I asked the guy about it he said once you fill the fuel tank it goes off, but it was there after filling fuel. I went back and spoke to a service person, he told it should be a minor error with the temperature sensor and they fixed it during the first service. Overall it was a very bad experience as I expected it to be a "Premium product from TVS". Costed me around ₹88k with 5 years comprehensive insurance.
    2. Service:
1st service (Murali TVS Chandapura): The engine warning was fixed. The kicker was not returning when kicked, and this never got fixed. Then after a few days I noticed my handlebar was vibrating in cold starts and I took it back to the service centre and all he did was increase the idle speed so that it avoids resonance, which was not the right fix for the issue. Mileage: 45-48 km/l.
2nd service (Murali TVS Chandapura): The kicker issue was still there, handlebar vibration was not solved. They just changed the oil, which was not necessary in the second service. Mileage: 43-48km/l.
3rd service (Murali TVS Chandapura): Just oil change with all the previous issues unfixed. Milleage: 40-45 km/l.
4th service (Murali TVS Chandapura): Just oil change with all the previous issues unfixed. Idling increased. Mileage: 35-40 km/l.
5th service (PAID) (Muralli TVS Chandapura): Just oil change with all the previous issues unfixed. Mileage dropped noticably. After 300km, the spark plug was changed and there was a huge carbon built-up, due to increased idle as it was running rich. Mileage: 30-35 km/l.
6th service (PAID) (Nakshatra TVS, Kothanur): They said the spark plug has to be changed (which was changed recently) as there is carbon deposition on the electrode. Idling engine speed was reduced. Clutch overhaul was done, which fixed the handlebar vibration to an extent. Brake shoes changed. Costed me ₹1555. Mileage: 35-40 km/l.
    About the vehicle:
NTORQ is a great product from TVS, I loved the vehicle's performance, its exhaust, the maneuverability in Bangalore traffic. It has some connected features that I hardly used. It was a winner in terms of price to performance. Even though the mileage I got was not great, everytime I revved the engine it would put a smile on my face. I was able to hit 103 km/h with a pillion in straights. After 12,000km on the odo and some tough Bangalore roads there was rattling from the silencer, handlebar, and the front mudguard even broke. It is good for one person as its rated payload is 130 kgs (as I weigh around 85). I felt the quality of the product is not upto the mark, and thats how they are able to give such performance at a lower price comapred to Honda and Aprilia counterparts. The mileage I was getting was around 48 when I bought and after 13,900km I'm getting around 35km/l.
Only thing I hated the most is their service centres which are least bothered about customers and feedback. If TVS continues this kind of service they might soon lose some of their trusted customers (including me) even if they have a great engineering team!

NTORQ RACE Édition Led Headlamp flickering

    Hi guys,

I ride the BS4 Race édition of the Ntorq. I read in the specification that the headlights were directly connected to the battery.
I wasn't expecting any flickering. Have you guys noticed any flickering of the all led unit when the engine is idling just after the warmup?

dude try to kick start the machine in morning and leave it on idling rpm for sometime and watch what happens if sound (rpm) is not decreasing within a specific time that means your auto choke ( its temp sensing capacity ) might be smoked out ie is you are looking at replacement orelse it might be due to improper carb tuning ... due to which engine takes time to heat up... mostly it might be a faulty chock .
these are the possibilities from mechanical end.

    and

from a practical perspective your scooter might be less driven orelse your atmosphere temperature is very low so the auto chock might be trying to make for that ...
