Re: TVS Apache RR310
Engine kill switch is meant for killing the engine in case of an emergency, and it in no way is related to the DRL that we use. DRLs are a safety feature to make sure the biker is prominent to the four/eight wheeled clan on the road, and it works. Is it a load on the battery, of course it is, does it reduce the filament life, of course it it does but it is the little price that we pay for our safety which is paramount.Originally posted by ani2607 View PostBtw engine kill switch is completely useless for this bike as the head lights will be ON even if you kill the engine. This would drain the battery. So i turn the key OFF in traffic signals.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: TVS Apache RR310
The engine kill switch was included for a more specific purpose.. to kill the engine in an emergency without taking your hands of the handle bar.Originally posted by ani2607 View PostBtw engine kill switch is completely useless for this bike as the head lights will be ON even if you kill the engine. But most of the folks are lazy
to even move their hand over to the ignition key to turn off the engine in normal use, and simply flick the kill switch. Using it wouldn't cause any damage to the engine, but as you pointed out sometimes it is possible that one shuts off the bike using the kill switch but doesn't turn the key off and leaves the bike say overnight.. this would most probably result in a dead battery by next morning (the kill switch on most bikes essentially only kills the ignition and fuel pump circuits, doesn't always shut down the entire electronics like say if you used the key).
So make it a habit to use the key under normal use.
He is right to be worried about battery draining, the bike's era doesn't matter.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostLol dude comeon. What era do you think this bike is from to be worried about battery drain issues?

Suggestions in bold.Originally posted by ani2607 View Post2. This has become a much more nuisance now. Now even if i try to start the bike after getting stalled, it wont start at one go. Imagine that happening in the middle of the highway.
Please adjust clutch play. It's probably too tight.
Yea checked the tyre pressure. It has to be some other problem.
Please check the cone-set tightness. The bike is too new, so a fork/rim bend can be discarded unless you went over a nasty pothole at speed.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: TVS Apache RR310
Limp mode is save the engine from more damage mode. Generally that kicks in when a sensor is missing or has failed. I see you have none of it. Definitely recommend what mod has asked you to do. Check the clutch playOriginally posted by ani2607 View PostWhats a limp mode ?
i know about the side stand thing and for starting in gears you need to completely press the clutch otherwise it wont start.

I think the TVS engineers understand which era this bike is from better than you and me and if they say this then I would like to stay conservative about this.
And I know and understand the actual purpose of engine kill switch. But who are we kidding ? Its major use has been shutting the bike off at signals and people have been bashing Honda for this very reason.

Idk why people feel lazy to leave the handlebar. For me, I would rather like to get comfortable from the somewhat stooping stance by leaving the handlebar. And when i am leaving the handlebar, why not switch off the ignition rather than Engine kill switch. If i just use the Engine kill switch, it will keep the headlights, display and rear number plate lamp on. I understand we are in an advanced era but still far away from an era that these things dont run on battery.
Thanks for the help ! Will check these out soon !Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostSuggestions in bold.Last edited by ani2607; 03-15-2018, 02:06 PM.

Define "long time". 1sec? 1min? 1hr? 1day? 1month?Originally posted by ani2607 View PostI think the TVS engineers understand which era this bike is from better than you and me and if they say this then I would like to stay conservative about this.

I kept my Gixxer's lights ON for 30mins without engine running on multiple occasions for "science". Battery is fine, still holding the charge perfectly. Now as you might figure this is a highly controlled situation. This compared to shutting off the engine at signals and letting the headlights run for a couple of minutes isnt really going to do anything. Be practical about it. Infact I do it myself, theres nothing wrong with using it for this purpose
Asking for a kill switch for safety purposes is fine. But if people are going to ask for a kill switch for convenience, then they need to recheck their priorities. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: TVS Apache RR310
Had went to the ASC yesterday evening before checking the suggestions though. Complained about the problems. Luckily another owner came with the bike who had taken the delivery around the same time as me. And he had come complaining about the same set of problems. Seems like it is a particular batch which has these problems. The service executive tightened some nuts and bolt but not to my satisfaction as the same problem still exists.
1. For the noise coming from chain belt over bumps, he explained that there,s a synthetic rubber material beneath the chain over which the chain glides while moving. Over bumps the chain hits that particular part which makes the noise. He said that this problem is present in every expensive bike.
2. Unsatisfactory reply for Bike stalling and tilting problem.
They took my complain and told that they are going to forward this to TVS and i will get a call whenever they get reply from TVS.

Re: TVS Apache RR310
AFAIK, the kill switch will shut off the engine but not the fan but ignition switch shuts the bike completely. Hence based on the situation if keeping the fan running is important ( especially in traffic) then kill switch makes more sense. otherwise the engine will shut off if the temperature reaches max.Originally posted by ani2607 View Post

Must be something like this, however if the chain is hitting it, then its not normal. Doesnt happen on my bikeOriginally posted by ani2607 View Post1. Re: TVS Apache RR310
Yes fan does run for 25-30 sec even after removing the key & hazard lights too work even after removing the key which is very good feature in case of bike failure on highway.Originally posted by ani2607 View PostNo its not like that. I will post a picture by evening.

Re: TVS Apache RR310
Hi everyone,
Got the bike delivered last evening. Initial impressions are as follows ( my previous bike was a Ninja 250, hence I'll compare it directly to it).
Good stuff first.
1. Good lights and horns.
2. Seating felt more comfortable than the ninja.
3. Much bigger in stance. Once you sit, you feel its size.
4. Good power delivery and smoothness. No unecessary noise.
5. Brilliant brakes and feel from the front. Quite close to the ninja
6. Suspension is soft.
7. High beam flashing reminds me of high end cars
8. Digital speedometer is a delight.
9. Attention magnet. Just like the ninja in green
10. I somehow like the exhaust note and how it runs at idle. Though I miss the low howl at high rpms
11. Enough speed below 7k rpm
Now a few negatives
1. Need to get used to the single cylinder vibes. I could pull at 15kmph in 3rd gear on my Ninja. Doesn't happen here.
2. The handlebar is a bit diff. Not able to reach the switches with my usual hold.
3.vibes creep in at certain rpms (only)
4. Lots of plastic. Kind of paranoid about durability.
5. No positive neutral finder. Hard to find neutral. Jumps to 2nd gear 8/10 times.
Overall, I am happy. The negatives are something I can overcome in a few days (or get used to)
I needed something cheaper but matches closely to the ninja, hence the RR310.
ThanksAweSome is too LesS!

BTW, when did you book the bike.? SBM motors ?
