I tried that in one of the test ride bikes which were there on Continetal GT, they were slightly better as they had tint but didn't have major difference as far visibility is concerned but as its Continental it had slight vibrations (very light). I always recommend for normal mirrors reason being every-time you drop the bike or cutting through tight traffic you might clip the mirror and then you're left blind. They look cool but I never felt they're as functional as normal mirrors on any bike I have seen so far.

        Hi guys,

After a grueling 6 month wait, finally the Interceptor is home.. Changed from Baker Express booking to Ravishing Red last month. Rode 390kms as of now. It remains true to my earlier ride impressions posted in the forum. Never believed in owning a Royal Enfield but here I am owning one after cancelling the booking of Z900 last November.

        Mods-
        Engine Guard Done
        Sump Guard Done
        Alloy wheels when available

        Cheers

PS- If there is a Interceptor Chennai WhatsApp group let me know. Planning to go for rides every Sunday.

Congratulations on getting your bike, and wish you many many miles of happiness astride the Interceptor. But one doubt - your bike has the engine crash guard at delivery, but seems to be missing them while at our home. How is that?

              Thank you so much..

Haha yes.. I should've explained earlier.

Since it was a supposedly auspicious day on 17th April my Dad told me take delivery that day. Since my brother's friend owns the showroom he accepted informal delivery one week earlier.

It went for registration only yesterday, so again before formal delivery I told them to add these add on accessories. So the apartment parking shot is from last week.

What is the process of ordering these accessories? My bike is due in 2 weeks. Do I need to order these royal Enfield accessories from their website? Then these accessories will come to dealer and dealer will be adding all these accessories on bike before delivery. Generally when(time) we should order these accessories? so that they reach dealership before delivery.

Hi, please talk to your representative. If they have stock of the accessories they will definitely give you the options to choose and fit them before delivery process.

                    1. Its been my 3rd day on my new Interceptor. Temperatures in Pune are around 40-42 degrees and when I went for ride in the evening (after sunset)... bike actually gave me scary heating... It could be till first servicing... but for sure it is dispatching very very hot air... I'm running my bike around 3k RPM and not exceeding 4k at any cost... so in 6th gear at 3K RPM you do reach 80 Km/h but at that speed hot air from engine comes even faster towards you!
                    Is everyone facing same issue?
                    2. To my surprise the light is really good, every reviewer complained that light is not good enough but my experience is different. I'm pretty happy with the light.
                    3. The mirrors are useless and I need to replace them with the square one... I will find good one and replace them post 1st servicing.
                    4. My better half did not complain about the foot pegs on my small high way ride... but she complained about too much hot air thrown!
                    5. The bike is attention seeker... at signal, at petrol pump every one keeps staring at it... one guy even approached me and asked if this is Royal Enfield's new 500 CC bike!

Wondering if this hot engine issue is limited to my bike or everyone is facing this.

Even I'm facing the same issue of hot air being thrown on my under thighs. I guess it's just how the bike was designed. I spread out my legs and sit a bit away from the engine it helps a bit. Avoid taking the bike in dense traffic it's for the best.

Yes sir you're right. Engine does heat up and you feel it on your under thighs when riding. I am hoping this goes away after first service.

I am surprised you liked the light, I took my bike out for a spin last night around 11 PM, had a nasty narrow escape when I couldn't spot a brown dog which was standing nonchalantly in the middle of the road and I had to swerve the bike last minute. Also surprisingly I liked the mirrors, only about a corner of it gets covered by my arms, the left one vibrates a lot though. You can check out the thunderbird ones for replacement, they were pretty wide.

Hi bro we just did a 900+km ride on our interceptor. Yes the engine is really hot and its heat radiations could be an issue when we are caught in traffic for long, but otherwise, during normal ride we never really felt any such problem.
The light is better than what is being offered on other RE bikes, but it is not enough for night rides. Also the light gets hot after a long ride, I'm planning to remove the always on feature of the headlight.
Like you I'm keep the rpm below 3500 until 5000km so that engine sets properly.

                            Hi guys,

I owned a Duke 200 before and this is my first post after owning RR Interceptor 650. Pardon me for the errors in the write-up.

Received my Interceptor on 11th of April from Calicut,Kerala after tons of followup calls. Done 1200 KM already and the bike is at its stride on the highway. She is also eager for the curves and its much better than i anticipated(220 KG Wet)!!!
I am writing this thread to let you guys about a issue that i have faced! On 27th of April, i had went for a ride with pillon onboard and a couple of friends to Bheemeshwari,Karnataka. The route is a lot of fun. Did a bit of offroading and it did better than others(A ninja 300 and The Honda Unicorn). On the way back near to Channapatna, the rear tyre got punctured and the time was around 12.30 !!!!. My friends had already covered some distance so i asked them to continue since i was confident on the 3 year free RSA service provided by RE. I called them up and after was kept on hold for half an hour and then the RSA came back saying "The Interceptor cannot be puncture repaired on road and it needs to be send to the nearest service center. They will come down from Mandya ie 40Km toe it to Mandya and then Repair the bike, again asking me to hold on till the service guy gets in touch. And then i started the long wait !!!! After an other hour, they came in conference describing me that the toeing vehicle can be dispatched after an hour. All this while me and my pillion stranded on the road under the Sun!. After this best of approaches from the RSA and a steaming pillion along, i decided to take matters in my own hands..I am reasonably build 75 Kg adult , and i tried to push the Interceptor to the nearest Puncture shop ( I had few options, and yes i knew i wont find a puncture guy who will work on the Brand new interceptor). The bike was tank full and this was the best workout i had in ages!!!There is no way to push a 220 KG punctured Interceptor more than 100m . And sure, no puncture wala was ready to put there hands on the brand new RE. But finally, a young punchure guy who knew about our New RE was able to remove the tyre, remove the gigantic Nail , close the hole with heat plate (First time i am experiencing this).I was worried that something would go on my beloved INT but it all went well. I cross checked the tyre, the brakes, the ABS warning sign and the alignment with the knowledge i have. I was lucky and everything was fine and by 5.30 i was able to start to Bangalore.
                            • I could have waited for the RSA's assistance but they never gave me confidence for the same. It took almost 2-3 hours for them to come to a decision!!Come On. This is not the "Turn around time" expected when you are stranded with a sensitive pillion!!!

Few of the things i learned from this adventure:
                            1. Have a Puncture kit
                            2. ALWAYS travel with a Punchure Kit!!(My Bad)
                            3. Even if you have a Punchure, Dont push the behemoth. It will wear you out and kill the existing options.

                            Wat can be done??
                            • Get the Alloy ASAP !!!!!!!!! This is not a Duke 200 to manhandle !!This is a request to RE,, Please get the alloy to the market ASAP.

Otherwise the ownership till date is just beautiful!!!!!I am loving her more everyday!!

                              Hi guys,

Just finished my first service, odometer reading now at 526kms.

Left my Interceptor for service at Classic Motorcycles Royal Enfield Service Centre, Ambattur Industrial Estate, Chennai at 1030am, since it's the closest to home.

Ready for Pickup SMS came at 430pm. I reached there at 520pm.

Morning Mr. Mani (Service in Charge) told me since it's the first service the estimate will be around ₹2600-2800. When I asked him whether I can wait and take since it's just the first service, he said RE has given a long checklist for the first service so it will definitely take till evening. There was also another Baker Express Interceptor for the same service. So I went back home.

Now evening the bill I got was for ₹3149. Since it's more than the earlier estimate I checked the bill.

There was an item billed as CYLINDER HEAD COVER GASKET. Obviously I asked them how can you replace the gasket of a brand new motorcycle. He says it's part of a 'Circular' they received from RE. So I said if it's part of Circular obviously it's a recall then how can you bill me for this. He says rubber items won't be covered in warranty. I asked whether you charged the same for the other Interceptor waiting for delivery, he said YES.

Otherwise they've done a good job. Engine feels smoother now. Only niggle I felt is that the initial bite of the front brake has been dulled slightly. Everything else feels normal.

So guys please let me know if this is a part of a ongoing recall for Interceptor and if it is why am I being charged for it, or is this normal or am I being scammed.

                              Cheers

Report to re regarding the gasket change and ask why u should have to pay for it. I got mine serviced in 1.30hrs only, right in front of me. No silly circular thing here. If the gaskets are getting changed under a recall then it should be foc. And it is not written under manual nor in the hard copy neither in the soft pdf to change the gaskets. All recalled items are replaced foc. Ask them reason. For the front break get the air bleeding done the feel would be back.
