Thank you brother. Indeed their was leakage, drop by drop I was loosing fuel and to my surprise I was smelling it from day one but didn't realize it could be leakage. Service station opened bike tank in front of me and found that Fuel gauge sensor has a leakage. No wonder I received fuel efficiency of 13 Km/L in my last run due to leakage! They took lot of photos and immediately reported it to company over the phone. Tomorrow morning I will get my bike back.

Good to know that it is getting fixed.
      Happy riding.

I was not clear, the interceptor came with 130/70 18, the thunderbird and classic came with 120/80 18. [ all rear]. I wanted to know if the 120/80 would be a replacement to the 130/70.

          Ok got it.
Yes one size up and one size down is easily do able.
But and a very big but, here in twins we have H rated tyres which means rated for speeds upto 210kmph. Where as the 120/80* 18 on Tb and like is a puny P rated which means 150kmph and would not be able to sustain regular high speed riding. If u plan to stay below or at 100kmph then ok.
Also those 120 sections are pure nylon tyres i don't think it has a belt breaker in it.
Where as the one we have are Bais ply radial tyres with breakers. I would love to have pure steel belt on the Interceptor , just attended my second very informative amd interactive grp session with reputed tyre company.
As of now we only have perilli as option or Michelin 140 section if u are able to find it.
I say don't go below the current speed rating.

Since yesterday my bike is with service station. I went to service station today to collect the bike but they said we have not done any work on the bike. We are not allowed to touch the bike. Team from RE is coming to inspect and replace the part. As per them they will investigate and will try to address why a part was defective or why it slipped through QC or is it a design flaw. Tomorrow evening I will get my bike back.

I understand, the main reason for the tyre change was the stock are terrible in the dirt, the 120/80 18 have a variety of patterns to choose from, though I hope the abs system does not go out of whack.

You should have been firm with them, customer doesn't pays for makers to experiment on. If some part is irregularly fixed or the part is wrong, it should be corrected immediately.

Write a strong mail to their service head and ask for compensation in some form. Say things like, the leakage directly in engine could have led to fire and that would have turned into a hazardous situation. And say some shit like your time is valuable, it's not for you to spend more than two lacs on something that turns out to be a fireball. Get some compensation from them, free consumables for one year or something atleast.

Don't be disheartened sir, the first lot of automobiles are always experimental and the early movers are guinea pigs :P I do like their approach though, that they're not doing a quick fix at the workshop, rather conducting a thorough investigation to eliminate root causes for such a mishap. I remember the old 390 KTMs usually had a typical problem of air filter box cracking up after around 12000 km, happened to quite a few of my fellow riders and rather than investigating, they would do a quick fix or replace the part under warranty at the SVC.

I wouldn't advise this if you throw fit at them its the relationship with them that hurts which is bad thing in long run. I have given my CBR in same service center for almost 8 years the service manager will make sure my bike is done properly he personally checks everything on complaint list is done properly before delivery even before calling me for pick up, this happened because I never yelled at them even when did a screw up some time back.

Bikes are machines its not necessary that every product that comes out have to be precise especially for a newly launched product, as long as it can be fixed get it fixed and just make sure everything is tight if you need inputs XBhp members are always there to help. That being said I'm not asking you to be soft on them just make sure you treat them like humans and build a good relationship with your SVC and mechanic , by threatening them you might get few goodies but is it worth it ?

Sir it doesn't matter who makes the bike first production year will have one or two issues, it was there with CBR or even 2017 Duke 390. You have an excellent machine and 3 years warranty and best part is RE themselves are getting involved instead of depending on local SVC for any issue which is unheard of.

It is connected at the very point where the exhaust started coming out of the engine head.My Interceptor 650 already has these yellow rubber buffers installed, and there is no official confirmation on this from re.
Could be a rumour. I got it on 3rd april 2019, and it arrived at showroom in the last week of march. No way 180/80 is not possible even with rim change, and stock rear is 130 section no 120. And no thunderbird ever came with 180 section rear.
Are you sure those are the O2 sensors & not BS4 Air Re-cycle ratio plugs?

Yes that is o2, recycle plugs or purge valve is with the evap unit. It is the job of evap to to handle the recirculation to fuel or vapours.

Thank you all for the support. I didnot had to run behind them. I called them today and my bike was ready. I asked the engineer and he updated me that company people also took video and they carried new part to replace. I didnot had to aks them for wash! My bike was kept well washed and no strains on engine were observed. So calmly everything went! Hopeful no more issues to be seen.
