Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Most bikes I have seen have hardly 200-1000 kms on them so they're very less used bikes and you have anyways 3 years warranty on them so not much to worry about but.Originally posted by Zubair View PostYes i am upgrading to classic and have been a fan of them! Before shortlisting bike
Always check the profile of seller, you can find the owner of the bike by checking registration details online and check if the name of profile matches with owner of the bike. If you see a listing where details make no sense for example there's one which says 0 kms and has pictures from internet drop that listing. Call the owner see where you can meet them and make sure its a public place not an isolated place.
After Shortlisting bike
Visit in the morning or when there's sunlight and before looking into bike ask the owner to not to start the bike before your visit and tell him that you want to do cold start as most weird noises everything will come up in cold start. Second once you're done with cold start do a visual inspection see anything's leaking etc. I hope you have taken test ride of the bike if not do it once just to refresh your memory how it feels and then compare that experience with bikes you're intending to buying they should feel better not worse. Do not carry any cash or valuables on you just to be safe.
Last but not least no money transaction before seeing the bike or anytime before you have decided to buy the bike.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
After waiting for 147 days I finally switched from Ravishing Red and paid for a Silver Spectre. Will get delivery sometime end of next week once RTO registration etc is done. Dealers have zero visibility on Ravishing Red, RE apparently hasn't given any update in that regard.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
I have been waiting for six months but finally did not get the bike I wanted, the dealership told me that it will be delayed for longer. The guy had the audacity to blame me for this since he said I booked it too late but I just decided to get a mark 3 black int and the loan just went through today. My question is should I take delivery now or wait until my rto registration is done and how long did the registration take for you guys please let me know.

Take the delivery and get through the process later, here in Delhi rto takes only one day and it is all online process.Originally posted by Blockhead22 View PostI have been waiting for six months but finally did not get the bike I wanted, the dealership told me that it will be delayed for longer. Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Did you try contacting RE? I too was offered a different bike by the dealer after making the payment in full, I wrote to RE and the dealership and asked them to refund my money. I got a call from RE and they sent over the bike that weekend. I got the bike on 13th, the date of sale is 18th, the registration will be done this weekend. In Karnataka, you can ride the bike with a temporary registration. I commute with it in most days and even took in for a small ride last weekend.Originally posted by Blockhead22 View PostI have been waiting for six months but finally did not get the bike I wanted, the dealership told me that it will be delayed for longer. Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
I didn't get asked by the dealership for another bike I am fed up with how pathetic their rollout or the bike has gone so far (I am no hater I love this bike but 6 months can make anyone impatient).Originally posted by Vikas Rao View PostDid you try contacting RE? So I demanded for another bike and since they had a black one I went with it. I also wanted to ask if you ride your motorcycle on a temporary tag wouldn't that mean that you have no insurance or if some accident were to happen they won't pay out.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
New insurance is done on chassis and engine number, it is important for rto clearance and it is the first thing to have before leaving the showroom. The next time you renew it , it will carry the registration number. So don't worry about insurance.Originally posted by Blockhead22 View PostI didn't get asked by the dealership for another bike I am fed up with how pathetic their rollout or the bike has gone so far (I am no hater I love this bike but 6 months can make anyone impatient).

I don't know why we can have a similar structure for rto registration in our country. Here in Delhi it is online and very easy, done with otp confirmation and online payment.
And few months back there was a news that new registrations were on hold indefinitely as all states are not agreeing on similar smart card/rc as mandate by transport ministry. So much for one country one tax.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Hey folks,
Mostly been a dormant member on this forum; but keep visiting to get views on bikes that I had been looking to purchase. Booked my Interceptor back in December, finally got it delivered last week.
Still figuring out the nuances of the bike and getting used to all that sheer power
Btw had a few conversations with the SA at Adyar showroom, one of the interesting things he mentioned (as per recent trends at that store), is the deliveries are going to happen much faster as the production apparently has been jacked up. So waiting times (5 months for me) should definitely go down! Not sure if that is a surety across the country, but atleast they were very confident to folks who were at the showroom for a test ride.
