Though I really I liked the sound of new Dustland exhausts launched last week, the price seems to be expensive around Rs.30000.

Usually with aftermarket exhausts there will be a low end torque loss. Though with db-killers the AEW exhausts back end pressure is mostly retained so the low end torque loss is lesser than other desi brands it seems.

Db killers dose nothing for back pressure you can not get back the lost BP in a ff exhaust unless you fill it with extra baffles or glasswool that too would be marginal.
DB killers only works for lowering the decibel levels.
There is no better exhaust than stock IMO.
(Now there are heavy fines for it too).

Yes, I was also thinking the same but it doesn't seem to be the case with AEW atleast.

Yesterday evening I was lucky enough to ride two Interceptors with AEW exhausts for a short spin. One had a db killer fixed and another without one.

Yes, both exhausts don't have the low-end grunt of the stock exhausts but the one with db killer had atleast 75% of the stock's low end torque is what I experienced.

Though both the Interceptors revved to top-end a lot more freely than the stock Interceptor though.

Hi! Cool that you got to experience both the exhausts side by side. How effective is the DB killer? Would it be okay for touring? And was the air filter stock on both the bikes?

The DB killer is effective enough to not catch unwarranted attention actually almost like the stock. It comes to life only above 4000-4500rpm. It has a nice rumbling note which we will enjoy while cruising. It almost sounds like the previous gen Triumph Bonneville 865 with the TOR exhaust. I'll never remove the DB killer if I bought one. This sound is more than enough for me as a novelty factor from the stock exhaust.

Without the DB killer it's a racket. Very Throaty and spoils the gentleman nature of the Interceptor. It's takes away the subtle nature of motorcycling.

Both were on stock air filter only.

          Cheers

After which exhaust parody, now comes another turkey. Not sure if it's addressed before. Belt drive with complete sprocket kit for the 650 series.

The video of the installation et al were posted on their Facebook page. Interesting one nonetheless.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Yes seen it online in promotional videos, but as per user experience it reduces the power they claim it otherwise , don't know if they have written their own engineering books. and their own old customers for other RE models claims that it fails and last very less.
And on the other front wobble at certain speed i too finally got it [emoji1787][emoji1787].(80 to 110kph) , made a video of same and gave it as proof they acted and engineer tested and checked all the things and finally the front tyre was replaced under warranty. Rode 50kms on the new tyre and no wobble as of now. So clearly not a cone or rake angle issue as we suspected. Few others are also getting the tyre replacement. I for some reason got the sports demon in place of phantom sports comp(same speed rating and size).

Cheaper that's why! That's why you got one Re's coffer controller would have gone on full bonkers regarding replacements and warranty and lo and behold, you get "improvised" replacements.

And you're right Inder, those speculations were cleared once another gentleman here replaced the front end for a similar issue.

But, it's a solace knowing it's isolated to a tire and not the entire front end. You just never know with RE.

                Cheers!

Yes definitely cheaper than original one, but same brand same rating and same tyre construction (bais ply) spoke with perilli guy on this. As of now feeling better front end control only more kms would validate the tyre performance.

Food for thought. Pirellis become Perilous after a certain time. Probably different compound and or hard wearing, but as long as things are replaced and issues taken care of, RE is doing a great job.

I don't get it, why fix something that's not broken!
If belt driven was aimed at solving a problem which chain driven system had introduced then whole motorcycle would have been dominated by belt driven.

The only bright side I see with belt system is there will no sudden wheel lock-ups like when chain slips off of the sprocket!

You eventually pay 4X more price on a belt system to do 4x less maintenance!

The same reason why people buy Lambos and ride it twice every year. The same reason why loud exhausts are sought after. Well jokes apart, it's good to see we are at least having options. It's a fancy thing sought after the "American Bullet" company introduced them to the masses, at least that's how most know such a drive existed.

Now, each drive will have its own merits and demerits, depending on the designs and what not, but eventually these are for those who would like to say "hey, why not what gives, let's give it a shot. Perhaps the person might like it, or not but hey it's his moolah, it's his machine and oh the bragging rights.

Hello guys, I had recently gotten my Interceptor serviced ( first service ) and they did not adjust the tappets as is mandated in the owners manual. Will I face any trouble? I can hear a light ticking sound when the engine is fully warmed up. If anybody here lives in Chandigarh please advise me the best service centre or FNG for this motorcycle, thanks a lot.

I have been observed that if I ride in a speed between 60 to 80 kmph it's give 30kmpl but if I ride above 80 that is 90 to120 kmph then it's give a milage of 27kmpl.

Light ticking is normal , Even i still haven't got it done no abnormal noise till now. At the time of my service there was ni such mandate. But still considering it is mandatory now the workshop should have adjusted it. My bike was tested by 2 engineers and both agree it is not needed as of now. Valve clearance should be checked at recommended intervals.
