Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
That's applicable during the first service, when the engine is new and there might be some metal shavings. After first service the service interval is 1 year or 10k kilometers, whichever happens earlier.Originally posted by Insidious View PostMore than anything else, it's necessary to change your oil with every service at least for the first year for the sake of your engine's health. You'll have engine debris and a lot of byproducts going in especially when the engine is quite new, even if you are riding minimally. In fact, the lesser you use your bike, the greater the risk for corrosion. So if you're not getting frequent long rides and use it exclusively for a commute, it's recommended that you switch your oil every 4-6 months.
Moreover the engine drain bolt has magnet inside to catch metal parts or anything loose inside. My running is mixed, city use as well as highway rides. But i understand your point, i'll discuss with the Area service manager of RE and then get it done

I opted out of the chain maintenance yet at the time of delivery I noticed the chain was cleaned and lubed.
They said the handle is over tightened and we'll fix that, now the handle wobbles at speeds of around 80 kmph on leaving the handle, i know i am not supposed to do it, but i just did it for a while and noticed the handle moving.
Total bill: 162rs, they didn't charge me for the chain maintenance.

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
Update : Went to RVS, met Saleem and technician Prakash. Pleasent experience as usual and now the Service manager Omprakash ji will take appointment from Aditi or Rajesh motors for wheel alignment and as per the technician that should resolve the issue as puncture guy did not fit the tyre properly. Front tyre pressure was 28 and topping to 32 has helped like 20% with the wobble. Keeping fingers crossed. Will update after alignment.Originally posted by HVaibhav View PostHi Yash,
I am from Jaipur too. I purchased the bike from RVS motocorp in Vaishali Nagar. Any idea how is their SVC? Also I am facing the same wobble issue and will take the bike to SC on Tuesday. Is there any group for Twins in Jaipur?
Many thanks in advance.
Thanks

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
You can go to any service center present in India, there's no such rule.Originally posted by HVaibhav View PostThanks a lot. Will Aditi motors cater to bikes sold by others? RVS does not have a trained mechanic for 650?!?! I hope this wobble is resolved, I will stop going to RVS altogether.
Thanks again.

My bike never used to wobble before going there but now it does.
I bought my bike from the Ajmer Road showroom which is company owned, they have made a WhatsApp group for the 650 Twins owner and there people were praising the aditi motors service center, the name of the technician is chiranjeev who is expert of the twins, try that service center.
I'll ask the admins to add you into the group as well, there you can read the opinions and put any queries.
Thanks again.

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
Yes. It is possible. I have transferred NCB on my old car to new one as well as from my old bike to a new one. I did take help from Coverfox in executing this. Like I said both the car and bike dealers insurance team while being aware of this aspect tried their best to dissuade me from doing this. I had to threaten them with cancellation of order itself. I also said that I would escalate the matter to the Regional Sales head of RE. Finally they relented. There are some technicalities with respect to this. Hence you will have to consult an auto insurance agent who is independent.Originally posted by Suriyabanerjee007 View PostThat was something which was running through my mind for quite sometime but I heard in past that we need to take 5 yr. insurance from the dealer at the time of purchase. Anyway thanks for clearing the air over this misconception.

If I have a existing bike and I´m purchasing a second one, is that possible to transfer the NCB in that case as well?
Here is an article from economic times to help you understand the nuances.
The No Claim Bonus (NCB) is given to the policy owner and not to the insured vehicle. Therefore, the NCB cannot be passed on to another name. However, you can use the retained NCB (certificate is issued) when buying a new policy for your new car.

That was something which was running through my mind for quite sometime but I heard in past that we need to take 5 yr. insurance from the dealer at the time of purchase. Anyway thanks for clearing the air over this misconception.Originally posted by yashasvi View PostFirst and foremost royal enfield is not a insurance company, they don't have a insurance policy of their own, what you get with your bike from the showroom is a dealer provided insurance in which they have a big fat margin.
There's no difference between getting a insurance from the showroom or on your own, once the bike is sold you have to deal with service center and the insurance provider on your own.
So get the insurance from outside and save some money, check on policybazaar and compare the prices with the dealer quotation.
If you need some help in selecting the insurance and other bits personal message me directly

If I have a existing bike and I´m purchasing a second one, is that possible to transfer the NCB in that case as well?Originally posted by Chakrapani View PostThere also exists a provision for transferring existing No Claim Bonus on a two wheeler that you already own to the new bike. For example I had an existing 50 percent NCB on my Classic 500 as I had not made any Insurance claim in five years. When I bought my Interceptor I got insurance through Coverfox and made sure that my existing NCB was transferred to my Interceptor 650. The folks at Coverfox helped me with the nitty gritties.
My RE dealer was very reluctant to allow the same. He tried to tell me that if I wanted the bike I had to buy insurance only from him. But I persisted. You can save premium paid on the new bike.
So pls plan out purchase of Insurance well and then strike a final deal. Thanks

Planning to get Dr. Mayhem home in few months from now.
