Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
Guys quick question, should we make the full payment before the bike reaches the showroom? The dealership say that the bike in transit and I will only get it after RTO is done. Its urgent please confirm.

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
Chances of leakage are close to NIL if you do it properly, many riders from outside India do the same with their dirt bikes and Adventure tourers and they haven't had a problem with leaking air. I am going to be doing it till March end or so by myself, will be updating once I've done it.Originally posted by Insidious View PostApologies. I seem to have been misinformed then. I read this on this thread here.
If converting to tubeless using Outex or the method mentioned by you, what are the odds of a leakage? Has anyone seen such cases?

Direct plug and play, no modification needed. But white light is ineffective during rains and fogOriginally posted by Insidious View PostApologies. I seem to have been misinformed then. I read this on this thread here.

Any recommended LED bulbs? Would it require any other form of modification?

Outex uses the same stuff, just that they have rebranded it and increased the markup on their kit.

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
1. The center stand is available at the service center, it's same for interceptor and gt, you can get it if you want.Originally posted by ayrus View PostHello everyone.
2. Check Google and youtube, there are many videos available for that. It cost approx 20,000 so it's better to get alloys instead, RE will be launching alloys in future

1) Is it possible to fit a center stand to the CGT 650? I've seen online that it is offered as an aftermarket accessory but the showroom says it's not possible.
2) How about conversion to tubeless tyres? What is the price and what is the procedure involved?
1) I don't believe that the center stand is being offered as an aftermarket accessory for the CGT. I've checked on the website, and it isn't offered. What is your purpose for the center stand? Because, I believe that you should be able to make do with a paddock stand as well.
2) There are tubeless tyre conversion kits available on the market, but they are not going to be inexpensive. There's one available from Outex (Link here) which costs a little under 13K. I think the procedure involves sealing the spokes on the rim with a special tape and adhesive. However, I am not sure about the integrity of this conversion. Perhaps someone else on the forum can throw a bit more light on this.

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
The waiting period for my motorcycle was a little over a month, but that was only because RE was transitioning from BS-IV to BS-VI and had stopped interim deliveries. I booked on Dec 21st and got my bike on Feb 6th. I believe that the wait period should be lesser now, and definitely far lesser than 90-days. I would suggest that you hound the dealership about this - get them to commit a time frame.Originally posted by abhi1991 View PostStill waiting for an update from the dealership regarding my booking, dont think they will call me anytime soon but in the mean time wanted to ask if anyone knows whats the ACTUAL waiting period for a GT650, specifically in Chennai and also other cities if anyone has done their booking recently. Thanks. In my booking receipt its mentioned 90 days but would like to know if it might get post or preponed. The wait is killin me. [emoji28]
Oh, there is a wait for GT. You are right about the motorcycle selling in fewer numbers, of course. However, for this same reason, they receive fewer CGTs on the consignments. They actually receive more Interceptors than CGTs (as shared with me by an employee of RE).Originally posted by yashasvi View PostI don't think there should be any waiting for gt as the bike sells in very few numbers, what i did in my case was to call all the dealerships from my home, enquired about the bike availability and got it within a week. I think you should start dialing and do get the insurance from outside

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
Will be posting feedback soon. I've done only about 200 kms on the bike, and it might be a little too soon for the feedback.Originally posted by abhi1991 View PostRudraa Motors, Anna Nagar.
Yeah I know about RE how they handle customer feedback, I was just thinking to do a complete walkin to delivery feedback with RE as I didnt want to sound nagging from time to time LOL!
Anyway, got a callback from Rudraa Motors they sounded concerned after I gave a Test Drive experience rating of 3. Told them what I faced like the Test mule not maintained properly, how the CS guy was not prepared for some minor technical questions etc.
I will for sure escalate matters through right channels if required. I am good at that. Btw, happy riding. Do share your feedback about the bike whenever time permits. Thanks.
Good thing that you gave them the feedback. I don't know how far they'll go to change their ways, but at least we know now that the feedback did reach them.
As an enthusiast, I had literally no clue about the insurance. Rather, I did not pay attention to the insurance at all. I was in such a hurry to get the bike that I did not look at the nuances of it. I'm stuck with the RE insurance now.Originally posted by yashasvi View PostYou can always change the dealership if you want if you aren't happy with them. They try to force the insurance as they make a good margin on it, only Enthusiasts like us who know about insurance are able to save some bucks from getting it from outside, 90% people pay whatever the dealership charges them.
Are you getting any accessories with the bike? Because RE gives us 15% and 20% coupons with the purchase, i hope your dealer has told you this.
