So took less time than expected to get the plates in Mumbai. Only a week. My Indian friend went to pick the bike up at the dealer (I was waiting in Goa), drove it a few km in the wet, and the bike stopped dead! I haven’t looked at it myself to see what the problem is but not encouraging. Any idea?

Finally got the bike myself. First issue was just a blown fuse. But just driving it from the dealership I notice the engine/FI warning light is on continuously. What does that actually indicate? (Besides me needing to go to a shop tomorrow). Also the ABS seems to be all kinds of weird.
Edit — At the Hero shop they cleared the error somehow they didn’t speak English so couldn’t explain the problem.Last edited by stewacide; 10-28-2019, 05:43 PM.

Congrats on your Xpulse, I have never seen sheepskin or for that matter any skin sold in India, not sure if some remote northern villages sell it. You may have to visit the butchers shop and get it cured for use.Originally posted by stewacide View PostThanks for the info.

I have hope my existing and well-used Moskomoto Reckless 80 will work with just a board attached to the existing mini rack, but good to know a proper rack exists if I need to go that way. I may also have to take the passenger peg supports, flip them over, and bend them back out to get them low enough to mount the bag holster. I can't recommend those bags enough.

I’ve looked a bit with no luck. There are fake ones at IKEA but that’s it.
Bike went though two more main fuses today. I really want to get going on my trip this is really annoying.
Edit — Fuses were going because wiring melted due to (as explained) improper routing, causing an intermittent short. ABS error was due to blown fuse. Don’t remember if it was the side stand switch or the rear brake switch. Four Point in Mumbai provided fantastic service though, and I’m now underway.
So far so good, and 80kmh cruising speed is proving adequate for Indian roads. Gearbox was really stiff to begin but is starting to wear in nicely at ~500k. Bike draws attention everywhere which isn’t ideal as a foreigner but I get the impression people think it costs twice what it does so good job Hero.Last edited by stewacide; 11-04-2019, 01:32 AM.

This thread has got me interested as I am planning to go into a 'Cheap Bike and Expensive Gear' mode. Currently, riding a Mojo BS3 (not XT) and have done 43000 kms. I am thinking to ride upto 50k and then sell it off since I have used it, for what it is built and I am extremely satisfied. My usage will be mostly mountains and city commutes. I can manage doing 70 to 80 kmph all day long without getting bored. I am spoilt by Mojo's refinement and the metal tank, so not opting for the dukes or the dominars. Looking forward for more feedback specifically of the FI version of Xpulse 200 [emoji4]

I hope you realise that you'll be trading all that power for a 200cc bike that feels stressed at 90km/hr. This is basically an overbored 150cc engine from the CBZ/Achiever platform and they cannot churn much power from it since it's just a 2-Valve engine. Yamaha FZ 25 platform has a proper 200cc segment engine, Bajaj & TVS have 4v engines and Gixxer 250 is tailor made for the segment. And then there's CBR. This engine is just too commuterish compared to all those engines. Less power and I didn't much difference compared to a 160cc bike. Off-roading ergos don't make it any powerful or better. It's every bit as Xtreme 200 or xPulse 200T in terms of power. Yes, it can do 70-90km/hr speeds but don't expect triple digits either without just pushing this to the limit. What bikes in India have the same shifter spline size as the Xpulse? The stock shifter is really short I can’t ride it in boots, and I’ve had no luck finding a match at parts stores, even just as a donor shifter to have a longer one fabbed.

Yes! I am very much aware of what I am getting into..Gixxer 250 and FZ 250 are good machines I am sure...but for my usage, I need a good city commuter, with 40 kmpl mileage, low service cost including part replacement costs..I can throw it anywhere I want to, without having to worry what if something breaks..plus I don't have secure parking (covered)..for occasional out station rides to the mountains from Delhi, I don't think I will need that much power considering that it weighs less and it has a very good suspension setup..if it's high altitude region FI will do it's job...the only thing I need to learn is how to fix a puncture in a tubeless tire!!Originally posted by Bismaya View PostI hope you realise that you'll be trading all that power for a 200cc bike that feels stressed at 90km/hr. FZ gives around 38kmpl .Also you'll have the advantage of having tubeless tyres. It has a comfortable suspension set-up as compared to other 200cc segment bikes. Also its more torquey than xpulse. completed 2000+ k on my xpulse fi with a ride of 1100 kms back to back in 2 days. ( trivandrum to kannur and back) some issues and given the bike for service.
1. squeak sound coming from the front brake while the same is applied slowly ( not the abs motor sound)
2. bike switches off just like that while riding( yes it starts when clutch is pulled and starter applied)
3. at full throttle bike crosses 108 kph then jerks ( can be a problem with the fuel feed)
waiting for service return of the bike. Asst service manager of diya motors himself has taken the bike in.

I have a Hero Xpulse FI..
Want to put in shorty levers on it. Please could anyone point me to the ones that fit.
Also any leg guards that will save the handlebar in case of a fall? Because the ones that already comes with it does not save the handlebar and I have removed them for off roading. I want a guard which will save the handlebar as well as let me stick out my leg while offroading.

For off-roading I think you’d want metal-reinforced hand guards. (Not these lower bar things which I’ve never seen outside of India except on huge bagger Harleys and the like). At least in North America they’re often called ‘Bark Busters’ after the popular brand. Usually they’re backed by aluminum, and the fit is pretty universal. I’ve purchased solid pairs from AliExpress before for about 3m rupees equivalent.

I purchased the xpulse in sports red in december. Done with the first service. All is good withe bike so far. I found the handlebar position not so good to ride while standing. Has anyone installed custom handlebars for the xpulse?
