I put a scooter regulator of 80 watts in parallel only for headlight
Now my bike has a 60/55 watts Philips Extreme power bulb and also I can put an additional 20-25 watts bulb.
I am looking for an LED auxiliary headlight .
I am using this setup for more than 3 years without any problem
I changed to the round headlight of Discover 125(The older version of Bajaj discover which had 60/55 watts bulb)
The round headlight of discover is larger hence more good focus
Unbelievably,I get a clear visibility of around 500 meters while driving my bike at night on highways

Another change I done is increase in Carburettor main jet size
Main jet of GLX is 87.5 number
I got a main jet of Bullet 350 which is 90 number
I got amazing results
smoothness in ride around 70 kph and surprisingly no change in mileage and slight increase in top speed.Earlier my bike used to struggle around 90 now it reaches till 100 kph and on gentle slopes with straight roads,I touched even 115 kph
The only drawback is that the engine firing sound is little bit ruff due to that large main jet(Firing is little bit like Yamaha YBX 125)

Currently I am looking for durable clutch plates.
I have heard about fiber clutch plates but dont know where to get from Pune/Mumbai
I purchased Yamaha RX 135 clutch plates(6 clutch plates) but they dont fit in my GLX clutch.
Also the clutch drum houses only 4 clutch plates.I want to know whether can I house 5 clutch plates in the clutch drum?
Because so far I know,if you have 5 clutch plates for 4 geared bike, the gear transmission is smooth and the power delivery to the wheel from engine is good.

Hi Pankaj,

I own a victor Edge 125 and i have aslo modded my bikes headlight as follows

TATA Ace Sealed Beam
Philips Bulb 60/55 Watts
Pulsar Dome

What i have done in wiring section is i disconnected two wires from the Stock R/R unit Gray and Yellow, Gray goes to the Headlight and yellow comes from the Magnetto to the R/R unit,

i have connected the Scooter R/R Unit in between this two wires

have you done the same ???

Hi

I am very happy to get in to this thread, as I am a owner of 2003 Victor GL. Its a great bike, with small glitches though. With a very good pick up and mileage it returns. I has been my companion all these days. Recently bought Impulse but still I feel happier to ride my buddy.

I am also planning to do some mod jobs to my steed and make it more powerful and safe. I would like to do following stuff.

1. An engine mod job - a big bore kit to increase the torque, not sure how much I should upgrade, but I want to go upto 150 cc to 200 cc if possible.

2. Change the wheels to alloy wheels.

3. Install superior suspension at rear, front suspension is being maintained well and its very good even now.

4. Install disc brake in the front wheel, and if possible in the rear too.

I know these would take a lot of money / time / effort to do. But I am determined to do it in atleast 4-6 months from now. I would spend the time till then in preps.

I would like to know how much of this is possible and what it would take in terms of effort / search / transportation etc. I dont have issue with the cost invloved (I know it might cost me more than the bike itself, but my love with my bike will not let me go down ).
Its crime to ride a car alone, so I ride bike :).

Re: 74.8333 per liter

Need a small help guys. Can anyone here tell me what parts can be swapped from the Apache Series to the TVS Victor GLX 125. Something like disc of the brake, engine componentry like clutch plate etc of the Apache. I am looking for parts that are a direct fit from the Apache series down to the TVS Victor GLX series. Your thoughts and suggestions highly appreciated.

Also if anyone has a user manual of the Victor GLX 125, kindly do share it with us. Needing it big time.

Cheers!

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Clutch becomes hard when ridden fast TVS Victor Edge

Hello Members,

Need help as i dont understand what is the problem with my clutch as i ride it continuesly on 60-70 kmph the clutch lever becomes stone hard and difficult to pull,
and after reducing the speed to 30-40 it comes to normal state and feels free as butter..

need your expert advice on this as i had replaced my clutch and pressure plates recently about 2 months back..

Thanks in advance..

Take it back to the people who did the clutch job. Maybe opening up the engine case and re assembling the clutch will solve the problem. Do you see any problem with the clutch cables??

Hi everyone, Pranav here from Coimbatore. Am new here on xbhp, hope reviving an old thread wont be a bother.

Apologize for a rather long post, anyways time to get to the point.

My ride is a 2004 Victor GL Black/Gold. Bought it back in Dec'13 when i was in college, the odo read around 67k and was in pretty good condition and genuine.
Its been 5 years since I met my trust black beauty and have been through a lot, wouldnt want to bore anyone with my long fairytale.

Long story short :

Stage I : Swapped in FZ handlebar and footrests for a more aggressive riding position. Done some sprocketing 14T/34T, reached 115kmph several times(speedo might be inaccurate by +/-5% but still)

Stage II : I got it fitted with disc brakes from the RTR series both upfront and rear without any major modifications. MIG Shock Absorbers, Longer Swingarm, Aluminium footrest brackets, Wider tyres Timsun90/90-17upfront, MichelinSIRAC 100/90-18 rear.

Stage III : Installed a radiator from R15S to act as an oil cooler and managed to get rather good results with some fiddling with the oil circuits.

After all the time, money and effort I put on my steed, I still get annoying comments as to why performing such mods on a 100cc bike. Most random people I meet go silent when I mention 115kmph and 250kms in 3hrs. But when its the persistent ones who just wont stop, and since I am a tad impatient, things tend to go out of control.

I want my beast to speak for itself and not put up with all the nonsense. So a build meant for endurance runs. Nothing to do with IBA or the like but I do fancy a challenge, maybe 2000 kms overall in 48hrs.
The third overhaul is right around the corner as the piston is almost bust and this time I want to make the engine perform better than standard. Swapping engines is not my style, the whole thing becomes pointless. Money is not a limit, plenty of time and energy to spend. Any/all suggestions are welcome.

A few pics as to how it looks.

Hi Pranav,

I chanced upon this ownership thread after almost 10 years since I first created it ! Must say, you have carried out some of the mods which I wanted to do in good taste. Kudos to that !

Quick Q on the apache set up, can you detail what modifications were needed to be made for the Victor's T stem and swing arm ? I have been weighing options of Gladiator set up vs Apache. Also if you can let us know if you have noticed any significant difference in weight with the Apache rims and swingarm ?

The Victor's stock steel rims are 18" in dia and Apache's are 17". That will throw off your stock speedo readings by a fair bit.

Karthik bro, neither the front, nor the rear need any modification. I've created a thread in the DIY section regarding this mod.

Regarding weight, I haven't felt any difference after switching to alloys.
The longer swingarm and longer shocks however shifts more weight to the front, which needs the rider to balance it out by moving towards the rear.
The speedo readings doesnt seem to be affected as both 18"rims of the GLX and 17" alloys of the Edge/GLX share the same gauges using different pinions. Also cross checked with other bikes(Unicorn,FZ,Pulsar) driving side-by-side. It shows a lower speed compared to the other bikes by 3-4kmph at 80kmph.

If you're thinking of modding it, I suggest you go for it.

Any suggestions on increasing performance, even marginally would mean a lot.

Thanks and regards
