it may be prudent for bajaj to provide the same immediately rather than the mandatory sari guard.
Will all due respect to your suggestion, I fear that putting a chain guard on the Ninja will make it look like a HH Splendor , and not a proper sports bike.

    • Hey guys am still in the running in period for the ninja, I feel a slight wobble in the front end when around 5-6 k rpm. Went to the probiking service centre he says it mostly is due to the threads of the new tyres with time it should go away if the problem presists we'll check it out during the first service. Guys what do you think is the thread the cause ? Cause below 4K rpm and above 6K rpm there is almost no wobble. Kinda worried

      • Check the tyre pressure, and you will have tilt the bike on the side stand to make sure the front wheel is off the ground, and then rotate it to see if there is any wobble. It could be a balancing issue as well, but that will/should increase with speed.

My offerings to the gods of speed -

        - KTM Duke 200
        - Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

The Pulsars and Apache RTR series are now coming without a chain guard to present a sportive look.

BTW, are saree guards mandatory in India (I mean legally)?

According to RTO rules, it is mandatory for the manufacturer to sell the bike with saree guard plus front number plate.
Saree guard can be detached by you, cops won't fine you for that.
I detached the front number plate too&got it stickered onto the front mudguard ala SBK style. The font is RTO approved&size is large enough, larger than the original number plate in fact. Though no cop ever stopped me, I have blue LED position lights on my bike too.

You got your facts slightly wrong. Bullet is not the only Indian bike with a half chain cover. R15, RTR, Avenger, P200, 220, even the new 180 all have half chain covers, O ring type. These are heavy duty chains for higher performance. Of course being open does require constant lubing especially in rainy season, but the D ring chains will not suit these bikes, the reason why you don't see full chain covers on most of the SBKs. Having an open chain means more frequent lubing, but doesn't mean the entire chain kit needs frequent replacement!

Thats cool! I've read in Bike India Nov 2009 issue that, during crashes the front number plate acts like a "knife" and causes severe injury to the persons involved in the crash.
The author also highlighted that the RTO should remove such stupid rules and focus on the essentials.
In many countries, only the rear number plate is mandatory and not the front one.

Of course, the front number plate spoils the looks of the Ninja.

              Sorry, if this is OT.

Same applies for the R15. Its number plate is right on the middle of the visor. The Ninja has 2 extra clamps running down the sides of the headlamp cowl to hold the numberplate below the visor. I feel that is spoiling the show of the dome. The saree guard is well designed though, at a distance no one can even say there is one-but I doubt how many people would take ladies sitting crossways on such bikes! I would have got rid of both on Day 1.
                Yes, we are going OT.

Yup I put in nitrogen with the recommended pressure. But still its there and also its only within a particular rev range as I said. Above it or below it its barely noticeable; And lifting it of the ground is impossible I tried it its damn heavy can't lift it at all

I've the same feel in my Apache RTR 180. As I said it is only a "wobbling" feel,as my bike have vibration severity in the 4k -5k RPM range.
Does Ninja has some vibration in the 5-6K range. Just a doubt!.

This problem cannot be attributed to wheel or tyre imbalance, because it should become worse at higher speeds , which is not the case here.
