Hope you all like it.
Congrats jonnyRider on your new steed! You are now a proud owner of the baby ninjette!!
Its a great feeling to ride her the first time out of the showroom, isnt it?
Make sure you wear all your gear and ride safe!

I was looking out for the paint protection film as well; however, its not currently available in India; you will have to source it on ebay. Llumar has the same listed on its website; however a call to the concerned person revealed that the product is still under testing and not yet available for sale.
I guess you will have to stick to the waxing and polishing routine until then!

No issues regards keeping her out in the open; just be careful to cover it up with the basic cover as @tazz suggested to keep the prying hands and eyes off Nothing irritates you more than finding the vehicle in the wrong gear or the mirrors played around with or worse... minute scratches on the tank surface!!
A basic cover would also prevent fading of the paint due to the direct sun throughout the day! just my two cents...

Unless I'm mistaken, Auto Service, Bangalore has just started dealing with this. Contact Venkat Shyam to check.

      • ^^Thanks Sidbp & Sunny for the info. Yesterday I checked with Rahul (BlueVolt) and he said about 20north.com, to try n get. So, I was checking the catalogue in that site. Finally I ordered a 3M film online from them... cost me a dear 6.5K, but it's 12x84 inches, 6mm thickness...guess, it will provide some protection against those flying gravels on the roads due to bigger vehicles, rather than getting the paints chipped off.

@Sidbp: Thanks mate for the wish. I believe (don't know for sure), after the paint-guard is on, hopefully the fading under Sun, issue won't occur. Just a curiosity, if you know, is there any anti-rust spray for the metallic parts of the vehicle?
And, sure thing bro... we should be in all the gears, all the time...I appreciate your suggestion.

        • Need tankpad (Keiti preferrably)

I was checking the planetDSG site, for the same. They have few in stock, but I felt a little out of choice among those. So folks, any suggestion for any other website, to get the tank-pad sourced?

            • Guys,
I have ordered and now received the HID kit for my baby ninja. Now the question is how to get it fixed. Are the Bajaj PRB guys good enough to do it. The document enclosed with the HID kit says that it must be installed by a professional. The HID blast should be fixed in such a place that does not get too heated. I am going bonkers and do not know what to do. I also have a rear tyre hugger to be installed and that should not be a problem for Bajaj PRB guys.

              Please help!

PS: If anyone has installed HID kit on their babies please do get in touch!

              Thanks,
              GuRpReEt SiNgH

                • Hey guys sorry for late informing I got my Ninja on 22nd of oct. but was very busy with office work..

Finally the day came when my dreams ended up about my own ninja since it was delivery day for my N250R. I went to Vashi probiking around 10:30 AM & bike was for me about 5mins of time they dispatched the bike and handed over the keys to me and asked to take small ride around for any problems. The moment i switched on the keys my heartbeats increased to 80-85 because of excitement of getting your dream bike. I pushed start button & quickly she growls to life, straightway i went to nearest petrol pump to top-up the fuel tank. Journey started towards Matunga where i spent my hostel life @UDCT I wanted to do pooja at Matunga temple still the strokes were at 80-85. My friends planned a trip to help in completing run-in periods.

                  Around 3:00PM
All set for first trip with new bike along with one ZMR, P220, P150 and 2 Unicorns all together 6 bikes and 8people. Bike started from hostel parking through heavy traffic at chembur and Pen finally reached at Mahad around 7:00PM. First stay at hotel Seema Mahad on first day 170KM done and speed was strictly 55-60 KMPH. I was scared to park new bike at a place where just few meters away was NH17 I kept 50bucks in security guard's pocket for all bikes he ensured about safety of all bikes.

The key observations same as fellow XBhpian' s
                  1) She gets too hot on city traffic.
                  2) Everyone asks you to put off the lights
3)some local 2-wheelers unnecessarily try to race with you ( I call them awara Bha@#% hu)
4)Very difficult to control the speed limits on highways

                  Day II
Next day somehow we started the engines at 6:30 AM left from mahad towards Chiplun via via poladpur -kashedi ghat speed limit was 60KMPH for N250R and P220 but as suggested by some fellow Xbhpians to revolve it more than 4k RPM up-to 6K once in every 100KM so crossed 60KMPH barrier
one awesome thing observed at corners need not to decrease the speed superb balance on sharp curves. She attacked every corner with gusto & came out as unruffled gecko. some photo session at kashedi ghat and enjoyed famous U-turn at kashedi. After photo session we quickly moved to chiplun and visited the Parshuram Temple. we already wasted 1Hr for break-fast around 10:00AM reached the chiplun quickly searched with lodge and kept all belongings at room. Started journey towards Ganpati-pule in between visited Sangameshwar place where Chatrpati Sambhaji Maharaj was arrested by Mughals. took the route as suggested by some local people sangameshwar ganpati-pule via Janki devi and Chafegaon full of ghats and dense forest with very good road, reached ganpatipule visited temple and headed towards Jaigad to enjoy sunset good place & gives some best of the best view of arabian sea clicked few pics, till we left Jaigad time was around 7:00PM. The problems to our journey started coming out slowly two of the bikes were having low battery problem hence very low light and no hornthe route was through scary dark forest we took other route by Nivali phata which was longer than previous but were able to bypass the forest. finally N250 and P220(2012 version) decided to stay back and give valuable eyes to fellow bikers they were too bright for any kind of dark was feeling like sitting in SUV with high beam lights loved the Head lamp power of both bikes

There were more surprises waiting for us in between i observed low fuel lamp started blinking still highway was 40km long i was scared what if fuel pump gets damaged due low fuel level. But then I remembered some fellow XBhpian has already done some 70km after low light my worries for fuel pump only. finally got fuel pump and filled up the petrol for bike it was like lake in sunny day so the time for me means dinner again wasted 1 hr before I gave rest to side stand of my bike clock was clicking around 10:00 PM still 65km to be completed with one rider who had zero experience of night riding on highways.
Some more hurdles to be crossed. Bike suspension was saying " It's my turn to show the absorption power after engine proved his muscular power." 20-25KM of road which was totally vanished due to recent heavy rainfall at sangameshwar and our beloved government has no time to look at it once. so test time for my riding skills also to avoid high beam of coming trucks and get my bike out of big bang potholes bike speed was 20 KMPH road was so bad even SUV like safari was not able to cross 20KMPH limit feeling like riding horse. finally around 12:00 we reached chiplun and went to sleep.
tough day full of troubles. I calculated my bike milege around 35KMPL with 60 speed limit

                  Day-III

Started the engine at 7:00 AM since everybody was exhausted with that 25KM of bad road.took koynanagar dam route and touched NH-4 Satara and visited Kas Lake and nearby temple took our Lunch at Kas lake hotel assal Maharashtrian Jevan Bhakari and Pithala.. Started return journey towards pune and there we ended up our trip. ????
Don't worry I will not ask "Have I made it large?" like dhoni and all do in commercials on television.

Next morning started my journey alone towards my Hometown some 250Km away from pune near to shirdi. for Happy Diwali In between I already crossed 1k limit in first 3 days and called up service manager at ghapkoper and discussed about bike servicing. He advised me to get it serviced as soon as i reach mumbai or pune so did my first servicing at 1800KM bike got little rough but no issues spotted by servicing guys.
                  Some pics ..

Thats exactly what happened on this Sunday's ride... R15 tailing ninja... suddenly there's traffic coming from the opposite side on a one way (), ninja brakes & ducks in to avoid, R15 is unable to brake so fast, hits the rear tyre of the ninja & falls .....

Fortunately R15 rider ok (& he's an excellent rider) & minor damage to bike... but highlights exactly what you were saying.

depends very much on reflex actions(excellent rider doesn't imply everything excellent), rather than bike only. Just for example, it might also happen as a converse case with R15 leading and slamming the brakes and N250R hitting it from the back. Don't imagine what will happen further!

                          • ^^@Kiran: It's nice first ride on Ninja, brother. I am glad to hear that you embarked on a first ride, the day you received it. I am a new owner too (only 4 days old) and I second some of your feelings about the ride. I am sharing my experience on my short yesterday's ride (about 70KMs).

Yesterday I left from office at 06:30PM, and decided to do a long ride instead of going back home. So, I took a busy city road which due to recent rains in Chennai, is damaged to good extent. Speed limit was in check due to the bad condition of the road, anyway. I had to stop at places, where traffic is moving like snail. The amazing thing I noticed is the putting the gear back to neautral is now a piece-of-cake. Read about "positive neutral finder" and experienced it thoroughly in real. In my P220, it used to be little vehicle movement or, engine kill process - to get back to neutral. I noticed the temperature indicator is well at the top 1/4th section, and feeling a bit of that heat near the right leg, while riding in traffic. As it's sort of usual for Ninja at this early phase, so I moved on. Here comes the flickability. I should say, as the whole weight felt very less, so I was able to do the flicking (sometimes even narrow gaps) even smoothly. The smile broadens here as a owner, eh!!!

I noticed the tacho and it shows somewhere between 2-3K, but I was on 4th gear. OMG, I failed to notice any knock at all and after riding more I was certain that Ninja handles lower RPM rides (even <=2K rpm)pretty smoothly @3rd or 4th gears, without holding the clutch [I generally use the clutch very less, though, unless gear shifts are absolutely necessary].

Twice I had to break suddenly to adjust according to random vehicle & bi-pedal movements. Out of which first time was a little shocking as I pressed the front lever a little over 1/3rd of play, and bike did a dive in front. Now alert and started tapping the brakes very lightly to get the effect The petals are way better compared to the P220.

Crossing the busy streets and finally managed to get on to a wide city bypass route. The speed was still within the limit, 4K on the tacho. I thought I couldn't able to continue at this constrained pace, but after few minutes, I was literally enjoying the ride. The road is actually equivalent to 4 lanes and lots of spaces among vehicles. In that speed itself I managed to flick the bike with the least effort and enjoying the ride for a long stretch of 18-20 kms. The low beam is fine for such sort of road. Fellow vehicles were admiring my ride and at the same time might be thinking "how on earth is he riding at such a slow pace?". Here comes few turns...though sweeping corners, not tight ones, I tapped the handlesbars in resp way (a bit of counter-steering), and VOILA, the whole frame of the vehicle responded with eagerness...felt sweet...the smile broadens now, (u can't notice though )

came back home covering a good distacnce on the saddle. The seat is little tough, almost like wooden plank, but nevertheless it was a better riding experience than I'm used to...

hoping to complete my run-in soon...will keep up with the posts
