  • Oh Man, this thread has everything in place about Ninja 250R.

Kudos to all the members/owners for updating the thread regularly.

Reading only few pages of this thread have made me set my mind towards the 250.
Would be great to jump from P150 to N250.

And yes, there's one more thing for all the proud Owners, which made me go mad and may make you too.

Don't know whether any one of you have tried this or have seen this, ITS JUST AWESOME, I was like after hearing this, turn up the volume guys:

      Hey guys,

Got my baby Kwacker today... in green!

Its fantastic... its larger but maneuverability is definitely better than my P200...

Can some one suggest a place where i can get the anti-scratch coating done? the PBK guys use some brand i have never heard of.. something or other starting from J... Forgot the name.

Any advice for a newcomer will be appreciated....

Gotta go.. have to finish the first sector of 800 KM running-in soon..

        Hi on a personal note,

i love the sound of the stock exhaust.. it gives the option of keeping the bike quiet under 5k rpm and all hell breaks lose when the rev meter hits the red line.

        Cheers

        • @henshaw : congrats on your new bike mate.
Today I had a small crash on my Ninja and there are slight scratches towards the right side. teflon coating won't do and the scratch is not visible from , say 5 metres. Any economical suggestion as what to do next.

            • Air filter replacement options

Considering the stock air filter is a piece of foam and we all have moved on to paper filters since then, what are our options for replacement? I'd like to know everything, from stock replacement to pod filters that need you to junk the airbox.

You can consider the Simota stock replacement filter by Race Concepts or a K&N stock replacement filter. No need to remove the box too.

Impulse actually makes a lot of sense. I am actually waiting for Altius Scimitar to come out.

yeah the alti seems like a killer . cool bike 2011 Altius Scimitar Review - Motorcycle.com

for me sort of cost effective choice in the impulse has some wild ideas of going in for a litre class bike in another 3 years or so and also keep all 3 bikes.

If the damage is too heavy for teflon coating to clear it out, that means the scratches are too deep into the paint. This will probably require you to repaint the damaged part of the fairing. There is always the option of trying to reduce the scratches with the scratch pen (although Ive found it to be pretty useless!)

You could try to cover the scratched area with some good quality decals to supplement the look and cover up the damaged part!

Hero impulse doesnt seem to have tubeless tyres. As per me, for a dirt bike, its a negative point. What say?

Actually, 99% of dirt/Enduro bikes works on spoke wheels and tube tyres. Even the BMW 800GS, 450GS, Triumph Tiger 800 XC, and the KTM's. This is because:

                            1) Spoke wheels absorb shock better on non roads
                            2) In extremely off road conditions, you can bring down the pressure in tube type tyres to low levels and manage, while one can't do that in tubeless.
                            3) A tyre gash in tubeless type will stop the journey right there, while in tube tyres you can go on.

That was insightful and makes sense. Adds to my knowledge. However, most of the bikers in India will buy this one for regular usage such as commuting around with ease as the bike is going to be light and smooth along with being easy at sharp turns. If the tyres are made tubeless, it will fit for regular Indian roads.
