Sorry a typo mistake, I corrected it. Thanks...Originally posted by ashutosh_x View PostI am sure you meant - Actually, 99% of dirt/Enduro bikes work on spoke wheels and tubed tyres.
That was insightful
and makes sense. Adds to my knowledge. However, most of the bikers in India will buy this one for regular usage such as commuting around with ease as the bike is going to be light and smooth along with being easy at sharp turns. If the tyres are made tubeless, it will fit for regular Indian roads.
You're right, tubeless might have made more sense, but alloys would not have suited the impulse. RE is working on a spoked tubeless rims for sometime now, but without success.

Ninja 250r Exhaust
Hello everyone...I recently bought Ninja 250r after reading reviews from xbhp.
I am new member here and would like to share my thoughts.
Whatevr, I expected from Ninja it does pleased me with its incredible power and great luks
What I am missing is hugger and exhaust (the voice sucks). Can anyone suggests good exhaust so I can feel I am driving a mini beast.
Thanks

Tyres for 250R
Has anyone used MRF for the front tyres? I see on their website that they the right size for the 250. I need to change the front tyre and Pirelli seem to be a good choice but am trying to see if there are some better alternatives for our conditions.
BTW, whats a good price for a Pirelli front tyre nowdays?

Thanks.. sidbp, hellbreaker46..
There is a glitch.. The showroom guy called me before the registration for the Muhurt stuff.. Gave the bike back on Monday. Now, there seems to be some issue with the RTO. Will take 4-5 days to get her back

It is normally recommended to fit both tyres of same brand and model.Originally posted by ak916 View PostHas anyone used MRF for the front tyres? Performance modifications for the Ninja 250R
Is there any way to increase the performance of the Ninja 250R? I badly need it as my life is at stake!!
Reasons for the post- The love for my life and the hate for Innovas
1) I have distantly heard of souped up R-15 being Ninja killers. I need to soup up my NInja before any of the R-15s kill me or my Ninja. You know i want to stay alive (being recently married, my wife loves me very much and i dont want to loose her love)
.
2) Last time on the highway i was racing with an Innova. I managed to overtake him (we were doing around 140+) but i couldnt shake him off my rear view mirror. Need the NInja to go faster, much faster than Innovas. I hate Innovas you see! Please dont tell me to remove my rearview mirrors!
Objective for performance modifications
Want to make it a Firebald (if you havent heard about a firebald, go light a cigarette from the cooking gas stove (put ur face down when u light)
) killer. It doesnt mean that i need a rocket launcher on it but need it to go faster than a firebald
till atleast 150 (know the firebald is 1000cc) I know there is "no replacement for displacement" but i dont want any more displacement because there are a lot of displaced villagers in India and i dont want to pick up fights with them.
The performance increase should be in the following range
1) 0-100 (the current one should do it in 7 seconds). Am looking at somewhere below 5. If you can help me make it 3, nothing like that.
2) Top speed of atleast 200 (no driving off the cliff stuff!). The last time i met a college Launda in Probiking he said his Ninja goes to 200! Why cant mine?
Can any of the enlightened souls here throw some light on this dark brain?http://www.californiasuperbikeschoolindia.blogspot.com

Wow. what a post. Knowing you, had you posted this in the night, I would have thought you were surely on high spirits / smokes or whatever.
I have similar thought process and could not have posted a better worded query. However, I don't hate Innovas. I just hate everybody else on the road.
Whatever I know -
1. Sprocketing will help you increase either low end or top end. Take your pick. You can't have both.
2. For increasing both low and top end, you would need to soup up the engine. Till date, I have not come across anyone who has done it in India.
All the best in your quest and keep us updated.Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

1st of all Congrats on your marriage.
You have mentioned you do not want lose her love, so you have to pimp up your ride?
Okay let me try my best here,
1) R15 beating Ninja is impossible, except for the ones built for track. Trust me you will not encounter a track bike competing with you on road all your life.
2) If you want a Mod go for a Free flow/Slipon exhaust and other minor tuning excluding the engine.
Coz, R15 is a single cylinder and more affordable compared to Ninja. So R15s have been taken to the extremes of RD by Joel and other tuners. The entire engine including the gearing has been successfully modified till date.
3) Sprockets in the simple answer for your quest on the quick 150Kph. But you will have to sacrifice the top end. Or go for a smaller teeth combo and gain a better top end, but lose out a little acceleration.
4) You hate Innovas, Me too I hate Swifts, Safaris, Scorpios etc or whatever moves on wheels that compete with me in Highway. I have a Joeled R15, only being under a Safe and stable conscious I try upto 140 and give up, coz no one is waiting there with a Medal once you win the race.
The most important fact is if you encounter a pot hole, enough to lose you balance at over 140 there wouldnt be anyone to help you out there.
5) Do not worry about any new machine capable of beating yours at the same class. Remember Ninja 250 rules its time. Yes obviously tomorrow another 100CC bike with 40Hp will beat the Ninja.
If you still not convinced, I have booked the Ninja 650R, so you too can try the same. I would say, Its a proper upgrade for you.
But why do you worry about all these, you have an amazing machine costing lacs, a loving wife (Which is only a Dream for many bikers
)
Just keep on enjoying you Ride mate, dont modify and waste money just to say ahead for 5-10Secs.

If you have a problem with an Innova on the highway, simply slow down - take a leak and start riding. This way you wont risk yourself and nor lose the love you need.Photo Gallery[/B]

Souping up is the option left. Need some one reliable to do it and who has done it (just like joel for the R-15!).PSRji has PMed me info on one guy, i need to talk to him!
Thank youOriginally posted by HarishK View PostSeems a Hyper situation,

Thanks for the tips, I was talking with respect to changes to engine dimensions. Sprocketing and exhaust modifications dont exactly yield much power for the Ninja.Originally posted by HarishK View Post1) R15 beating Ninja is impossible, except for the ones built for track. Looking more towards modification to the engine. Am looking for a reliable person who has already done this. If you do know someone plz let know. I know the Ninja 650R is an option but i would like to take the bike on the track atleast once or twice a year. So 650R isnt much of a choice for that.
Well mate i was being sarcastically serious than seriously sarcastic!!Originally posted by Ananth View PostWas it sarcasm or you are serious?

Was just trying to use my literary skills to derive out some technical details on how to go a lil faster
Am a normally sane person until i write to be creative
. So no probs with anyone. Its just that i want my bike to be a lil more faster.
BTW TrustVishwas tells me that you have done a DIY for a motorcycle handle mount. Would be really interested in that, as i am looking for one. The drift x170 comes with one but its a lil too wide to be accomodated on the Ninja handlebar!http://www.californiasuperbikeschoolindia.blogspot.com

and +1 on the post from Vishwas about smoke/spirits :P
That asides,
