  • First service.

Hey people. Need a real big advice from you guys.
My bike will be completing 1000km in a couple of days and I would have to take it for the first service. So what should I really check on during the 1st service and also what brand of oil do I use? As from various inputs I see that Oil is a main concern. thereby need suggestions on the best oil to use. Any particular thing I should check on during my first service? And also any thing I need to do or upgrade after my first service. Thank you so much guys.,

I have installed the yamaha fz hugger in my bike... Costs only 110rs from the yammi showroom. DIY Yamaha hugger for ninja
      Bluevolt DIY ninja hugger

I personally prefer the ninjette method, as the bluevolt method involved too much cutting. But kudos to both for making it available to us...

        • I personally was not too comfortable using tie raps as they don't give enough stability as a nut n bolt joint. So even though I followed Bluevolts DIY article to cut the F16 hugger, but for the fastening of the right side of the hugger I got a custom bracket made..similar to the one available with the original tyre hugger which is available for N250r in the market.
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

This is kinda of assembled pieces fastened with nut and bolts. if you notice, the slots in the connecting arms are not just circular, but in the lenght of the arm so that the bracket can be adjusted according to size.
I painted it with black spray paint and only did 2 coats, hence you would notice the paint peeling off
The bend in middle arm is to avoid it hitting the inside of swing arm.
I thought about getting it welded once I get the correct dimensions, so that I can remove the fastners. But it hasn't caused any trouble as such so I'm not in a hurry to get it welded..may think about getting it done some time later.
These links are available at motorcycle accesories shop which they usually use to install luggage boxes on motorcycles.

Don't go with the bajaj dtsi oil. Switch to motul mineral (I dont recollect the product code).

Other than that, check all fluid levels - coolant, battery fluids, brake fluids, etc. and check if all fairing bolts are tight enough.

Nothing else mate. You dont need to worry one bit with the ninja

Will do the same vishwas ji. Thanks for the info.

I cut this out of a 1mm thick sheet of aluminium, bent it and had a nut welded to it.

This is a view of the bracket as it is on the bike

This is how I have mounted it on the left side. The chain runs against it a bit here, but I don't ink it would do any harm... Been using it like this for a while now, with no issues.

The front right part I used cable ties to hold down.

Has done over 1300kms now. From past 1 week i am facing a weird intermittent issue with the engine just shutting down when riding briskly and shifting gears at 5-6k rpm. All i have to do is stop the bike and turn the ignition 'off' and then 'on' to get the motor started. Really weird. Anybody has any idea about what might be the problem?
                          Any pointers for this, anyone?

Looks like a spark plug issue or some electrical issues like faulty engine kill switch etc. Have you contacted the svc regarding the issue?
