  • Ride-on TPS

The Cost for ride-on TPS depends on the tyre width, aspect ratio and rim dia.

Check out the following link to calculate the dosage required for the tyre
Tire Sealant | Puncture Repair | Flat Tire Repair | Tire Protection Systems for Motorcycle, Automotive, ATV and Heavy Equipment - Ride-On

Depending on the conditions, normal or severe the dosage amount is suggested in Ounces.

For Ninja 250r it is 7 Ounces in front and 9 Ounces for the rear tyre (Considering severe conditions)

Current rate is Rs 112.5 per ounce. Plus Service tax and VAT as applicable. (Rates are for Mumbai)

    The process :

    1. Tyre is deflated.
    2. Nozzle for the ride-on is attached and the required quantity is pumped in the tyre.
    3. Inflate the tyre.
    4. job done.

    • Rear Tyre Hugger

Here are a few pics of the FZ-16 hugger that i fitted yesterday evening. It took just an hour to fit after all the material was procured.

          • I've got to get a new steering cone set because the current one has rusted. Mumbai doesn't have any in stock, understandably, so have to figure out what service centres in Pune are Probiking service centres.

            • There is some good news to all Ninja owners (for that matter all owners of liquid cooled bikes) who are worried about cleaning all the mud off their radiator in this rainy season.

Cleaning the fins takes lot of time and energy. The easiest way is to stop mud from getting thrown on the radiator.

I did several adaptations and have now found a perfect solution. This is a no cut, no drill, easily reversible and extremely cheap way.

This is an aluminium strip powder coated in black colour. It is bolted to the two bolts which mount radiator. Just take out those two bolts, place the strip in place and put back those bolts. No other hassles

These photographs are after riding more than 200 km in rains. No. The bent fins are from my earlier efforts of cleaning them.

The vertical strip is just couple of inches wide and does not block airflow to radiator much.

Total cost - Rs.150 (including power coating)

              • Thats a good mod there. But my question still remains. How you plan to protect other areas.

In rains and at speeds stones and muck is actually flying around. If you see the rain pattern created on the side of the fairings, you would get an idea. So covering that part is not sufficient.

To my thing can we cover the entire grill in that manner?

Iam sorry but two failed attempts pics are not being uploaded.

                • K&N

Guys, I am considering K&N air filters for my bike. My primary objective is an improvement in the exhaust note, even if there is no significant improvement in performance.

I need your advise on which filters are best suited for my requirement and would also like to know of any first hand experiences here.

I do not intend to protect other areas. I have been using the Ninja for last 3 monsoons and so know exactly the kind of mud pattern that I see on the radiator. Only the front wheel throws mud on radiator. . . . that too when it is pointing straight ahead. So no NEED to cover up any other area.

Covering entire radiator would lead to NIL air flow to it and the bike would heat up.

                    • Brilliant Idea Vishwas Bhai.

In India this mod is a necessity. Kawasaki should make this an integral part of the Indian version of the bike, instead of the silly Sari Guard.

You should patent this Idea and Kawasaki should pay you royalty for every piece.

Adding an after market air filter on the ninja 250 will not result in any kind of change in the exhaust note.

While scooters such as activa and dio growl when such air filters are added, on the ninja there is no such noise, only the whoosh sound is amplified to some extent.

I had a K&N filter (stock replacement type) which improved the low end grunt and mid range noticeably but found it cumbersome to clean compared to the stock foam filter. The stock foam filter can be cleaned in under an hour - remove foam element, soak in a bath of diesel or any low flash solvent, dry it between sheets of newspaper or cloth, spray some oil on it and squeeze it again between a cloth and reinstall.

With the K&N, once it is washed with the cleaning solution, it has to be left to dry naturally in the shade which takes a few hours. Then you have to oil it and refit it. This is significantly a lot more time consuming so i switched back to the stock foam air filter. Of course, no change whatsoever in the exhaust sound, just a slightly louder intake noise which is more of a whoosh than the froggy croaky sound emitted by the dio's and activa's.

If you want exhaust sound to be louder get a slip-on pipe. The Leo Vince Corsa is the cheapest imported accessory for the ninja which is available in the market now.

Thank you for the priceless info Aditya. I guess, I'll drop my intentions of getting K&N. My decision was based on the exahust note of my cousins Eliminator, which makes a fantastic sound on K&N.
