          • guys...just got the rear seat cowl.total damage=4160/=

i was quite surprised when the accounts guy at probiking showroom told me that i would be charged 2.5% extra since i'm paying by credit card
& ofcourse that 2.5% was not added on the invoice?? neither was there a board that said 2.5% extra will be charged if the payment is made by credit card.

i guess have spent around 33K on the bike including my helmet cost...guess will not be spending any more except for one last thing i need that is riding jacket. does DSG have a mesh jacket? I guess a mesh jacket won't be that hot right?? Thanks.

Thanks Inder. Like I said, I will certainly join in for the rides. Unfortunately, I have a few things to wrap up tomorrow, so will miss the ride tomorrow. Enjoy.

I'm assuming the 2 sided tape has to be used on the RHS.
Was a little lazy but have picked up a few pics from the web on how this hugger is installed. This should give you an idea on how it is installed. No doubt that a good quality 2 sided tape is key
And yes - you just need to remove the original bolt from the chain guard, place the hugger over the chain guard as shown in the pic and put the bolt back on

                    • waitin n waitin n waitin some more ......

hey guys .......have to share this with you .....

i had booked my ninja on 5 of dec 2009 n i got a call from pbk on 10 of march (thats 95 days of waiting ) that my ninja had arrived n i needed to make the necessary payment ....i was really excited to receive that call n i asked them how soon will i get the delievery after i make the payment ....they said about a week or as less as 3 days if everything goes right ,,,this coming from none other than mr rahul the manager of pbk poona ,however i managed to get them the dd through a freind (as im not from poona ) on 24th of march ,so , technically i should be the proud owner of the kwacker right ,guess what i still havent got the delievery n the worst part is i must have made 5 to 6 calls to pbk after handing over the dd, but some how mr rahul is always out on some "official" work and he will call you as soon as he gets back.i guess he is still "out" cause i still havent got a call from him .i mean is this frustrating or wot ? wait ppl ,theres more... when i first got a call i told them that ill be a little late on making the payment as i was not from poona ,say a week to 10 days time ,the response i got was ....no problem sir what well do is we will give your ninja to the next customer in line and you sir can get the next ninja whenever it is alloted ? i mean come on ....u cant be serious ...after waiting for like ages this is what i got to hear... i mean ,am i overreacting here or something ? thats customer service for you i guess !

pointless." said reason. "Give it a try." whispered the heart ....

                        • Got my Ninja. Its 3 day old and 950 kms!!

Finally after a long wait of 141 days I received my Ninja on April 1st (I know the significance of that day!!). The Bike looked awesome every bit of it and my wait was worth every moment of it.

Bajaj was courteous enough to give 3 litres of petrol and the phone numbers of the service manager. Rode it from Shivraj to Aundh and filled up a full tank on the way.

Since it was a three day weekend, took it out for a long drive to Ganpatipule via Khopoli>Pen>Mahad>Chiplun. The handling of the bike was awesome. I was maintaining under the 4K rpm throughout and a strange phenomenon did happen after Khopoli. THere were a series of bumps around 50 metres off each other. Failed to spot the inital bump and on braking (without changing the gear) the bike automtatically dropped a gear from 6th to 5th!! Did any of you experience such things??

The ride to Ganpatipule was uneventful thanks to the 60 Kmph speed limit and other ppl on the ride were calling my bike a "Baill Gaadi". After 450 kms we reached Ganpatipule and went to the beach and had some good fun. THe waves there were extremely strong and was getting thrashed on the beach often trying to time the wave

Left back next day afternoon to Pune and somewhere close to Sangameshwar the fuel lamp began to glow and I again filled up a full tank (14 litres). On calculating my mileage I found it to be a whopping 36.33!!! (Thats more than the figure being claimed by Bajaj!!).
Guess there is something wrong with my calculation here but I cant get whats wrong!! Some one help me here
My first fuelling was at around 15 kms. I had managed to put in 14.86 @ full tank at that fuelling. After doing 530 kilometres refuelled it again full tank by 14 by shaking the bike repeatedly so that the maximum petrol could go in. That mean there were 3 litres remaining. Which implies the total usage was 3+14.86-3=14.86. 530/14.86 = 36.33!! Can u believe it???
                          Neither can I!!

Around Pen, the FI light came on and it was not disappearing even after switching bike off for a prolonged time. Called up Kiran Devekar and he said nothing to worry, there is a back up system in place. Even if the bike gets shut down, you can call me and I would assist you. That was pretty reassuring . He even suggested me to get to the Vashi Probiking. Kept the rpms really low and managed to get to vashi by around 2045 hours. That was really late and the service centre had closed by then.

Didnt face any problems after that on the ride to Pune from Vashi today (Sunday) but the FI light still remains on. Am getting the bike to service centre tomorrow to get the bike checked up. Any of you have faced similiar experiences ???

Actually Bajaj has quoted somewhere around 43 kmpl so what you are seeing is correct. The bike will return around 37 km to a litre at lower RPM's and sedate speeds.

Am not sure about the FI light issue. Will make sense to call up your bike engineer.

                            • I am impressed with the attitude of PBK in Hyperion's case,

it was a petty issue which can happen to anyone

I used to think the bike did this. For a very ling time I was convinced it changed gears. I would bet my whole life on it.
I was proven wrong !! The feel and the noise you are percieving is CHAIN JUMPING.

If I ride my Ninja at or below 4k RPM it does dish out a whooping 35kmpl mileage. You are in break in phase and its great to see the engine being broken in nicely !

                                @ Sheelpriye
                                1000 cc's, because you can ride a 10 slow
                                but you can't make a 6 fast
Give the 6 a set of corners to make it faster than the 10 :P
