This is a bit weird to hear, considering they treat me&my friends very well.
Anyways, what exactly happened? Did the shade not match properly or was it dull? Show it to me sometime.

P.S. - A single Ninja sticker on the side panel cost 7XX odd rs
    Who is charging that amount?

That's right. The small stones some how entered inside the cooling fan and changed it at the end. No idea about the price....

It will damage the fan and if we are lucky the fan will escape without any damage. You can see the fan on the back side of the radiator.

Also since both the silencer pipes are exposed up front, the chances of tar particles sticking to them&corroding the pipes is also very high!
You won't be able to get them off later, so be careful about that also.

had a few scratches on the silencer, saree gaurd and crash gaurd. I wanted dull black. told then very clearly. left the bike there and was with mohan for an hour. Those buggers painted some Gloss black. I was still ok. the next day paint started to peel off from the silencer and started to become powdery. Eventually it ripped off the original paint as well at the silencer bend pipe! those guys cooly say they cant do anything now! Those guys have painted surya's P150 silencer dozen's of time, nothing happened. Will see f someone does a proper powder coat stuff!

                    • 1000 kms completed

Well I have completed 1000 km on the odo yesterday. The bike is going for servicing today.
Needless to say , so far the experience has been fabulous. The performance, refinement and handling has been stellar.
I am going to list my experiences on the bike for the first 1000 km now,

                      1. Took delivery on Thursday last week, 25th March, from Shirode Auto in Pune, Went there around 4 pm. The service engineers there
explain all the details and precautions. Then they finally rolled out the bike. One of the workshop guys took it for a test spin.
They stickered the number on the number plates, not a very professional job, but I couldnt care less. After taking the keys and the documents
my plan was to directly head towards the NH4 bypass and from there home. However, it turns out, the closest fuel station was in the opposite
direction. So reluctantly headed towards the fuel station, which is very small, but that will have to do for now.It was here, that I got my first
taste of the kind of attention that the Ninja green commands.Got people asking me aboitu mileage, price, top speed etc.AFter filling in about Rs.500
worth fuel, came back the way I came and headed towards NH4. Was very slow , about 40 kph. I was initially quite skeptical about how the bike would handle
at low speeds and would I be able to ride it properly. The short answer is, its a piece of cake to putter about in town.Absolutely no issues.

                      2. After dodging a little traffic , finally hit the bypass highway, so open the throttle a bit , I was already at 80 before I realized. Immediately,
rolled down the throttle until it came down o just below 4k. Now keeping the bike down to this RPM for 800 kms is a real pain. You can feel tingling
at the handlebars at exactly 4K rpm. Once you are past 4K, the bike is silky smooth. The road is pretty straight and the traffic light, so didnt get
a chance to get a feel of the handling. The straightline stability is phenomenal, no surprises there.
I found the rear brake pedal and the toe shifter a bit too high. It takes a bit of effort to roll your toe the top of the pedal and operate it.
The gear shifter is okay. But you can keep your foot on the brake pedal, the rear brake is vicious, you have to be very very careful. Thankfully,
you almost never have to use it, atleast below 80 kph.The font brake is unbelievable good.
A gentle squeeze of the lever and the bike drops a heavy anchor.Another thing, the bike gets really hot within city limits, you can feel the
                      heat near your thighs.

                      3. Next day, Friday, took the bike out for a ride on the NH4.Completely the filled the tank at about 37 km on the speedo. Needless to say, it grabbed
eyeballs everywhere. And yes, the terribly annoying, headlights-are-on gesture. I noticed a click-click sound everytime you open or close the throttle.
Has anybody else noticed this? Got my first real taste of cornering on the Ninja, at the Khambatki ghats on the NH4. The bike is rock sterady around corners
, but I will really be able to comment more on this after the run-in phase is done. Its easy to turn into corners but obviously not as flickable
as my RTR.The gears are just fantastic, very smooth, slot in perfectly. Especially when downshifting. Upshifting however is too smooth, was getting
                      enough feedback.

                      4. Passed the toll booth near Kolhapur, and noticed that the horn has suddenly gone week. Now this is not very good on the highway.
Reached Kolhapur with around 270 on the speedo, planned to turn around and have something at the McD there and then turn back to Pune.
I slowed down, went down through the gears.Just as I was about to turn, the bike turned off, on its own. Thumbed the starter, no response.
Checked side stand, killswitch etc. Everything looked ok. Turned off the ignition, turned it back on, no self check, no lights, no horn,
nothing.Pushed the bike across to the other lane.Tried the same voodoo again, but the result was same. The bike was dead, stalled, and I
was more than 200 km away from any kind of help.

                      5. Called up Mr.Kiran Divekar, the chief service engineer, at Shirode auto, who had graciously given all Ninja owners his cell phone number.
He verified a few things. Then he told he will call me back in some time. Meanwhile, there was a gang of little kids who had gathered around the
Ninja, asking all sorts of curious questions. Finally in about 20 mins, Mr. Divekar, called back, he said, he had asked people from the Kolhapur
PBK to come to where I was, and check the bike.I told them my location and waited. They arrived after a short time, check a few things in the bike,
whether the fuses were ok, they were on the phone with Mr.Divekar, performing actions based on his instructions. They couldnt find the issue. Thankfully
the bike failed near enough to Kolhapur, we took the bike to the workshop, where they opened it up. They found the battery voltage was really low.
They put the battery on the charger. Meanwhile they tried starting the bike on another battery (not Ninja's but with the same tech spec). The bike started
fine. After about 4 hours of charging, we tried on the battery, the bike didnt start. There still wasnt enough charge. They said, they would have to
charge the battery for about 12 hours to let it really charge to capacity. It looked like I would have to stay there for the night. I had some relatives in
town so stayed over at their place.Next day morning, I turned up sharp on time. The bike still wasnt starting. The battery hadnt charged at all.
Mr.Divekar called me up, he had sent a Kawasaki service engineer from Pune, with all the necessary tools and a replacement battery. The engineer reached
Kolhapur around 3 pm, replaced the battery, started the bike. Everything looked ok. It took just 2 minutes to do all this. He took the bike for a ride
came back and checked the voltage. It was okay. Then I took the bike out for a small 15-20 km ride on the highway. Just to be sure everything was ok now,
we checked, and the battery hadnt discharged and was working properly. So looked like we were doing ok. The service engineer gave me his number, in case,
I have some issues on the way back. Got me a gate pass for the bike. I wasnt charged anything.Mr.Divekar was in touch with me all the while.
Although this was a bad experience, the silver lining is that Bajaj was kind enough to help me through the ordeal, not leave me to my own devices
200 km from Pune. Mr.Divekar asked me to get the bike to PBK as soon as possible when I get to Pune to do some additional checks. It was late already
in Kolhapur, so stayed over and started back the next morning.

                      6. The journey back was pretty much eventless, but still fun. I had to start looking for fuel soon. I couldnt find a station which offered 91 octane anywhere
between Kolhapur and satara, finally after crossing Satara, found a fuel station that offered Speed. The low light still hadnt come on, the ODO read 450 kms
when filled up. Assuming that the fuel low indicator would immediately have come on, if I hadnt refueled, the bike did 450 - 37 = 413 kms in 13 litres, atleast.
Reached Pune safely and without incident in the afternoon. Mr.Divekar called to check if I had reached in the evening. The bike has so far not given any issues related to electricals or anything really.

Sorry for the long post, I will continue the little remaining part of my experience so far in the next post.

                        • Took the bike to the office a couple of times. I leave around 11 am -12 pm for office. The bike does get pretty hot. Riding it in traffic is not a problem at all.
The roll isnt too good, but just enough. You dont have to keep shifting.

Did another ride to Mumbai yesterday, again no issues. While climbing the ghats , you have to keep the bike in the right gear. You should probably keep the bike
within the first four ratios when riding in the hilly areas.Opened the bike up after 800 km. Certainly much more comfortable now with the ability to go upto 80 km.
The feedback while upshifting has improved.

Here are some of the pics.

                          • Thanks for sharing your experiences - and I am also surprised at the bike dying in middle of nowhere. The Ninja, as far as I know has proved itself (to me, at least) to be rock-solid-reliable over thousands of kilometers.

Glad Bajaj sorted things the way they did, and kudos to them.

Yes, like I said, it was a one-off incident. The important thing is PBK was
ready to help out and follow through. This should calm the qualms people have about the A.S.S for the Ninja.

I have been busy for the last few months with work and will probably be right uptil November. So while G2Gs are difficult, I will certain join the rides.
                              Thanks.

Not quite in the middle of nowhere, but yes, it was surprising. Just my tough luck I guess. However, it wasnt a horrible experience.
