Dude, for the first 800 kms do not exceed 4000 RPM and for the next 800 kms (between 801 and 1600 kms) do not exceed 6000 RPM.

Also ensure that you vary the RPM's, meaning, dont ride at a constant RPM for long.

Please ensure you read the owners manual carefully.

            • kawasaki break in

hi people thanks its been nice reading a lot about kawasaki 250 r break in and lots of nice info is on net .....there were factors involved ....people who are really mototechnicians have really debated kawasaki's break in recommendation for 250 R which is same as other higher CCs kawasaki and same break in recommendations have been there since really long almost since 1982 ....guess i will to have to stick in with owner's recommendation coz if anything happens ...u know service n repair gonna be an issue in INDIA and create a hole in my pocket......but i guess bajaj is doing good job and has taken a nice step ..but i m revving it to 5-6 k now .....and its making nice smooth noise at 5-6 k than at 4k ......n feel that at 4k motor is under more pressure than at 5-6k .....

the breakin slabs are 800 + 800. now the trick is to work out the cross over slabs which many do not stick to as its not in the manual. my suggestion is to start working up to 5K RPM gradually from 700 K onwards and reach the 5 /5.5 K in about 900 kms.

now the most important part is when you reach the 1600 barrier. the cross over has to start at ony 1600 to till 2000 kms. by 2000 kms you should have pushed the bike all the way gradually increasing the RPM from 1600 kms (5.5) to max at 2000 kms.

this should be a better run in for your kawasaki engine.

what i best enjoy on my ninja now during the running in period is to shift to first take off and at 4K start shifting the gears maintaining the same RPM of 4k without dropping the needle and touch 60 kms in the 6th. i love the gear shifting positive and precise. The game is on..

                      • Servicing

Done 4.5 k kms on my Ninja....
The service booklet says its servicing is due at 6000 kms...but the PBK service center guys are asking me to get it serviced as it`s been more then 6 months....
I had an argument on this as there is no mention of the time.....He said sir plz read it carefully it says that if ur riding ur bike and dusty and hot conditions u should get it serviced it in shorter duration....
What you guys think about it.....????

                        • There is a mention of time in the manual, they are right. And it doesn't hurt to get it serviced a little early too!

                            • Radiator fan in New Ninja

                              Hi Friends,
I'm new to Xbhp forum. I'm a resident of Chennai & I took delivery of my Ninja 8 days back.

It's has been going pretty smooth except some issues yesterday. I was riding in extremly slow traffic condition coupled with rain, mud & slush.

I think the radiator fan started spinning at some point.... (not sure). Bike jerked for sometime & stopped suddenly. This happened 3 times. I took it Probiking today for a checkup.. They are claiming that everything's fine....& increased the idle RPM...

I was told that radiator fan starts spinning only after 103 degrees temperature... Is it true ?

Did anybody faced similar problems? Please share your experiences.

                              Thanks

Not sure about the temp but the needle will be around the top 25% when the fan starts... with all the slush around, the radiator fan has been coming on much more frequently for me too, however I haven't faced the issue of the bike shutting off...
