1. You mean the bike is stiff NOT bouncy! A bike is bouncy when the suspension is soft. If the bike is bouncy you need to sitffen the suspension. If the potholes or road irregularites are felt amplified at the butt then yours is a stiff suspension and you can set the rear to soft. It will never be as soft as a 220. Tbh you would not wanna have it very soft. It will work against you !Originally posted by amitredefined View PostFinally going for the 1st servicing after clocking 960kms
. Are there any particular things I should take care of?
The problems I have are;
1. the bike is bouncy. Can the suspensions be soften?
2. The rear seat makes a "thud" noice if I go through bad patch
2. Tool kit in the storage area under the rear seat is the culprit for the 'THUD'. Get rid of it if you dont want the thud.
Dont forget to put it back in there for long inter city rides.

Alarm System Anyone
Guys,
I am planning to order an Alarm System for the Ninja. Has anyone succeeded in fixing one? I am concerned about the wiring. Your inputs would be highly valued. The link for the alarm system is below:

Buddy ... before installing it, confirm it with Bajaj, coz they may have warranty issues.Originally posted by karthik_freaky View PostGuys,

I was told by the Service Engineer that the warranty of the battery would be void if we fiddle with the electricals and that includes installing a security system.sigpicI feel like Clark Kent on the streets riding the Pulsar, On the track.. with my Ninja.. I feel like Superman.

Thanks for the warning killer. I dont mind if the battery warranty gets void. But if the entire electrical setup gets void then have to think again. But I really feel a bike like this in India needs some mechanism to deter ppl from sitting and taking pics.. One fall and off she goes..Originally posted by killer_instinct View PostBuddy ... before installing it, confirm it with Bajaj, coz they may have warranty issues.

Would be great to know what the seniors: Tenhut, Bluevolt, jd666 et. al. have setup in their bikes.Last edited by karthik_freaky; 03-27-2010, 12:41 PM.

Totally agree. I was thinking of getting one too. Its a problem especially if you are living in an apartment building like me.Originally posted by karthik_freaky View PostThanks for the warning killer. I dont mind if the battery warranty gets void. Agreed that security is an issue. I know bluevolt uses a disc lock with alarm built in, but its stand alone, as in it does not connect to the bike battery in anyway, or the electrical system.
Modifying the electrical system in anyway can void your warranty, which is for 2 years and 30k or 40k im not sure. So keep that in mind before doing anything.
I also wanna do a few mods to my ninja like changing the switch gear to that of the R15, but i gotta hold it.
If u have a basement parking in your complex, best is to park bike there, and have a good heavy cover over it. That will deter people from bothering to lift the cover to see underneath.
i park both the ninja and R15 between the cars and the wall in the basement, so there really isnt much space left for anyone to mess around, and they are covered all the time.
Also a few bucks to the guard now and then wont hurt!!! lol !!

dont get that. Get the stand alone Xena Disc lock system. It is louder than a Jet turbine and one doesnt have to play around with the wires and battery.Originally posted by karthik_freaky View PostGuys,

I have the Xena system but have never used it. Tbh ppl get tired of ur bike faster than u do and there comes a time when the same lot of ppl living in ur society wont even bother looking at ur bike.
Whatever you do pls dont get a system where u have to fiddle around with the battery...with or without warranty.sigpic

Even I use the Xena Disc Lock (XX10) .. believe me because of it I can work and sleep peacefully.Originally posted by karthik_freaky View PostThanks for the warning killer. Motorcycle security: XX10 disc-lock alarm for motorcycles, scooters & ATVs
YouTube - Xena Lock sound
The alarm is really loud and scares anybody who tries to fiddle with the bike. Guys in office have now stopped removing the cover etc because of the alarm.
You can order it from amazon or ebay. I ordered it from amazon and asked a friend to bring it from US hence saved on shipping.sigpicI feel like Clark Kent on the streets riding the Pulsar, On the track.. with my Ninja.. I feel like Superman.

Let me give you guys some idea about these locks. I did a lot of research on this before I got the bike coz I was paranoid about the security of my bike.
XX6 - has 6 mm pin and has 120 db alarm and provides lesser safety than XX10 and XX14

XX10 and XX14 - has 10 mm and 14 mm pins respectively, and have some more protective features as compared to XX6 but are expensive.

I did a lot of googling but did not get any negative reviews on the Xena alarms. As for me I very happy with its performance.
The lock comes with 3 keys and metal key code tag with a code in case you need duplicate keys.
Bluevolt has a XX6, however he faced some issues with the alarm, could be a battery issue or could be a hardware failure, am not sure.
