Lol, the motorcycle shops might be closed in Bangkok - another red shirt rally in motion. Travel advisory - postpone your trip.
I ain't having any luck here in NY either - was planning to walk across to the Kawasaki (and accessories) dealership in Manhattan, but instead cooped in my hotel room because of the rain and biting cold. Will try my luck in west coast this week for mobike goodies.

            • Hi all,

I am going to pay the full amount to Janaki tomorrow. I read earlier that for most of the people, the total receipts amount didn't add up to the amount paid. I am planning to raise this concern before hand with Jananki, so that now onwards such a situation don't arise.
Also, Janaki told me that after the full payment, it takes about 3-4 days to deliver the bike, because of the new rules that only fully registered bikes are to be delivered. I was of the impression that, we can collect the bike and the registration part is taken care of by the dealer. But i guess I was wrong.
So I think this is it.. should be able to get hold of my KWACKER anytime now.

Do the Bajaj people apply any teflon coating why delivering the bike with some extra charge? Is it necessary?

              cheers!!

              • ^^ dont go for the teflon.

                - and dealers dont have a compulsory ruling that they have to take the entire amount and then deliver the money. Im guessing in your case the dealer is doing so, just so that he does not have to pay for the bike from his pocket.

They will not register any bike in your name, without getting the full amount. They might be taking precaution, as it is a costly bike. It is as simple as that.... For me they waited for my checks to be cleared to register it.

                  • Hi Ninja Owners,

Some concern about Ninja, as I am just reaching the first breaking period.

                    1) What will be the best fastest way to lubricate the chain. I have Motul Chain Clean and Lube and I don't have any idea what's amount and practical way to apply it, other than what's mentioned in the instructions. I have already applied chain clean and lube. Suggestions please.... Is there any other brand available in India, which is better for the bike?????? I think gloves is a must while lubricating a chain. These questions ar just to make the chain lubricating easy, as I can't find much time to do it and can't do it manually by removing the chain..... I think a back paddock will help in the process???? Any idea about the cheapest paddock available suitable for Ninja in India?????

                    2) To the guy who use Shell petrol : Shell provides Normal 91 Octane and Super 91 Octane petrol. Super is having additives. Which is good for the bike???? Currently I am using Super.

                    3) I started getting a kind of scrubbing sound (not harsh) occasionally while riding the bike. Is that due to the speedo cable issue which we have mentioned in the forum earlier?? Getting the sound more when riding in bad roads... If its speedo cable, how can we resolve it without going to service station???? Expecting, more elaborated ways to do it, as I don't even have any idea where can I locate the cable

                    4) Break in period : Till 800 KM below 4K RPM; After 800 KM below 6K RPM; After 1000 KM First Service (Including oil change); After 1800KM above 6K RPM. Is this correct?????? Is there any service just after 1800 KMs???? Bajaj service guy informed that after the first service, the oil change will be done only after 5000 or 6000 KMs..... Will it be better (advisable) to change oil after second brake in period, say after 1800 or 2000 KMs??????

                    5) What are the security measures which you guys take when you park the bike in your house??? I just use bike cover that will distract lots of attention. Any bike alarms like Xena motor security used by Bluevolt available in India, which doesn't need any electrical modifications in the bike?

Note : Most of the above questions just came out of curiosity. I am happy with the bike and want to make sure that I am doing it right. There will be a delay in response in the forum, as I don't have Internet for the last 3 weeks

                    Thanks to all in advance....

He will give you 2 Khivraj's Receipts.. one would be for the ex-showroom price of the Ninja.. the problem is with the other one.... which is for registration, insurance etc. You should have separate RTO and Insurance receipts which should add up to the 2nd Khivraj Receipt.

motul would do, though company recommends OKS, but then OKS is supplying to bajaj, and the chain is DID.

Best way to do it would be to use chain clean and chain lube every 300 kms, and every 1000 kms or so get the chain washed with petrol or kerosene, then a lil chain clean and then chain lube.

Yes the paddock stand is the easiest way to do it.

Otherwise if you dont want the hassle, just take the bike to bajaj probiking, and get it done there. 100rs, and they will adjust the chain tension for you, which will have to be done for every 500-1000 kms depending how loose the chain gets.

                                2) To the guy who use Shell petrol : Shell provides Normal 91 Octane and Super 91 Octane petrol. Super is having additives. Which is good for the bike???? Currently I am using Super.

                                - spray a little chain lube ( very little, after removing the speedo cable from the wheel gear ). Because the complicated way is to remove the front tyre, and then lube the internal gear with lithium grease or any nylon/hard plastic grease

                                4) Break in period : Till 800 KM below 4K RPM; After 800 KM below 6K RPM; After 1000 KM First Service (Including oil change); After 1800KM above 6K RPM. - Nope, change oil at 1000 and filter also. And its till 1600 kms iirc, not 1800.

park it in a safe secure location. Better if you have a internal parking area or something.
