It might be something that I havent been able to discover yet but really I have pulled it very very very very hard from all gears on the National Highways and parts of golden quadrilateral while on my way to chennai and back. It just never seemed to wheelie and was never even close to it.

If the bike cant lift its front in 1st and 2nd it aint gonna do that in 3rd for sure.

But like I said...i may have not just discovered it it. I could very well be wrong.

Also hope the warranty won't void if you fit the theft alarm system. Pls confirm - thanks

Thanks mate..i dont think it should be a problem. Need your help with few more things :-

              1. Cost of Motul vs regular oil used in the ninja?
              2. What is the brand name of the regular oil used in the ninja?
              3. Did you go to the probiking service station to change the oil to motul & air filter?
              4. Number of litres of motul required?
              5. At what intervals(kms) do you plan to change your oil?

              Many thanks ! - Karan.

I have done 2nd gear 12k rpm shift...but either I was too dumb to realise that the front wheel was lifting when upshifting or then it just plain never did.
Unfortunately for me dumping the clutch is the only solution to lift the front off the road. Not that I am into wheelies or endos so I dont care !
What do you guys weigh and whats your height ?
74kgs, 6 feet tall and theres no way my ninja has had the power to do any sort of power wheelie.

Rs 850 for a litre. I think Ninja drinks about 1.7 litres or so right ? I know no shop in pune where you can get it from. I get it from a rider friend of mine.

Have no clue about the warranty...i guess if u fiddle around with the battery for your anti theft system then its possible to have the warranty void. Get a Xena Alarm system....it just sits on the brake rotor and beeps real loud if the bike experiences a jerk or any other movement; and requieres no installation.

Got a habbit of using half clutch shifting may be had habbituated through my car. i see that as one of reason of lifting and other thing i am same height as you but leaner than you by 4kgs as my bmi says i am slim (indian standards say bony guy).

                    For oil part
i think its better to go for mobil one 20w50 synthetic oil. the service supervisor was also recommending the same. than the usual semi-synthetic oil offered at service centre. other thing its better to use semi synthetic oil for atleast 4k to 5k for better freeing up of engine coz i am going todo the samething.(i use 5w40 mobil synth-s for my corsa modded found out to be real smooth)

                    last thing
any of you thinking of putting k&n air filter coz i am in process putting up this filter. any suggestions? and next next change would be yoshimura CF or remus free flow full exhaust

When I took delivery of my ninja, it did not feel anything special at below 4k speeds. Also had to keep it below 4k & 6k during break in period. But you have to cross 8k just to realize that every rupee you have spent on this baby is worth it.

Hope to meet you in Pune offline G2G meets and rides.

have read a lot of people saying that,so will keep that thing in mind and ride.

one thing the ninja has taught me even is patience, first the 2 years to the launch, then almost 5 months to get delivered, the break in period will be comparatively smaller,so I am in no rush to reach conclusions before doing the proper break in

will surely love to join you guys on a meet,do let me know

                        • guys ... can anybody advice:

                          1. will an aftermarket slip on screw the bikes engine..shorten the life span of the engine?

                          2. what do you guys recommend : 2 brothers, Yoshimura, Akrapovic or Hot Bodies growler ?

                          Thanks !

Don't even think about the hot bodies growler. I would'v gone for the yoshi with the carbon fibre finish, looks super hot, sounds nice too. Dn't expect a a phenonemal performance boost though

                            • well i guess a full yoshimura exhaust system will give a 3bhp gain at the rear wheel as shown by the dyno chart at the website

Dont think me be weighing a couple of kgs less and about the same height would make my ninja pop if urs doesnt.. maybe that i have changed the rear sprockets +2 would have effected the power.. if that doesnt then i think its just the difference in observing it..
