  • Hi Guys...
Been a while I posted in this thread... Guess I was very busy with my Green Screamer
Its been 13.5 kms of pure bliss and my bike's rear tyre has totally given up...
Wanted to go for PSD for both front and tyres (Stock sizes) but PSD 110/70-17 is not available here in Hyderabad... Instead, 110/80-17 is available which will increase the profile and I don't want to take that risk...

Can you guys confirm if this is the same case in your cities too and also any other alternatives to PSD's

    Thanks in Anticipation!

R15 V2.0 tires are direct fit, but expect their life to be not more than 12-13,000kms. Excellent grip and soft compound on the go, heats up very quickly. Same dimensions!!!

      EDIT- MRF Revz 110/70-17

I will be replacing the chain and both front and rear sprockets and i reckon it costs upwards of 10k at PBK.

Rolon has started making these parts for the ninja and KTM and my buddies have been using them as well. The rolon chains are X ring and much better than the O ring chains sold at PBK and the rolon chain and sprocket set costs 8k.

I was browsing eBay and came across this.

Could anyone let me know if its a good buy and if this is the stock setup/spec? I dont want to change the gearing.

Also any feedback if this brand has been used or any suggestions for better quality parts?

Please let me know. Thanks in advance for the replies.
Bro, I would rather suggest you to go and get the PBK (stock part) as the difference is just 2K. Why compromise on quality as I believe that Kawasaki would have used only the best quality parts. Atleast I would have done this in such a situation.

Rolon chain plus sprockets cost 8K?? Well i thought the Rolon chain came for 3K! The OEM NInja sprockets come for around 3.8K

Aditya, Check this page for more details

Thanks Jakrap. I will go ahead with Rolon chain and sprocket kits. Now rolon also makes the sprockets and it costs (IIRC) around 1k for the front sprocket and around 2k -2.5k for the rear one. Chain is around 3k. Total should come to under 7k.

            Thanks again for your help.

I guess i'll buy folding levers instead ; my cousin is coming over from the US and i want to make his trip worthwhile. LOL

            • Ninja is back again showing its stalling issue.

Now its virtually impossible to ride, the bike stalls down randomly at any rpm/any gear. Escaped couple of lethal situations while overtaking. Have stopped riding the bike!!

Will be taking the bike for servicing/check up this Monday. God knows what's the issue. The spark plugs were changed during the first instance at around 3000kms and now at exactly 6000kms the same problem has cropped but this time with worse symptoms. With pillion it goes max 100 metres and then it stutters and stalls!!

              Any pointers?

Are those tires H speed rated ? Check before you buy and its not advisable if its not. Pirelli SD are available in chennai and bangalore but all these tires are old stocks atleast a couple of years old. I got a pair with manufacturing dates 28 th week 2010 for 6300 rs . Thats the newest I could find after searching for almost a month. And the tires are hard too. Its better to save up some moolah and get a fresh set of Road winners from Bajaj . The quote was 14500 at PBK , What was it there ?

                    • The dipper light has suddenly gone off. Only the pilot bulb and upper lights are on. What do you guys reckon? Just a new bulb should fix the thing?

I have Rolon chain and sprockets on my N250. I was told that I am the first customer who was putting them on. I got it for 7k and have done 2.5k kms after installing them. There is no drop in performance or mileage whatsoever. I am quite happy with the way they treated me and really convinced with the perfomance. So, IMO you can go ahead and purchase it for you Baby Ninja too.

                        • You could also go in for the conti go tires which are used in the CBR. They have some good reviews and will fit the ninja. 110/70 17 front 140/70 17 rear.

                          • ^^ I have ridden CBR250R for quite a times, Contis are amongst the worst of tires i have experienced, given the class of bikes as CBR & Ninja. Beware! And just heard from some one, that Honda CBR250 now is using IRC itself.

Besides, the rear one has a different profile, i dont think it will fit and suit Ninja well.

I am presently going with PSD for rear and the existing IRC for front
The front tyre would surely last for minimum 5k kms...
By that time if I get the PSD front, I will get that replaced too
