I recently noticed a slight bend on the rear alloy wheel of my Ninja. I need to know whether it can be fixed. @trustvishwas:- your help is required here. I stay in Navi Mumbai but can travel to Pune anytime as I have stayed there for the last 5 years. Can you tell me where did you get your alloy wheel fixed and the cost involved?

    Regards,
    Tarun.

This is the shop from where I got bent alloy repaired. He charges according to the damage. He charged Rs.1,200 for my alloy.

You first need to take off rim from the bike and tyre from rim. Take just the rim to him. He will repair it in couple of hours max. It is not 100% perfect. . . around 95%+
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

        • I found the motul 3100 gold 20W50 Technosynthese oil. Is this good for the ninja? My bike has done 3700 kms & this would be my first oil change after the first service.

Or do i go in for either shell advance ax7 or ax5?

I used the same oil since my first service.I have used it for 4300 kms and mine is also due for the 2nd oil change.
I think the optimum kms the oil can be used is only around 3500-4000kms.

Since it is your second oil change I suggest you stick with fully synthetic oil-Agip/motul/castrol.

I don't really know about Shell.
But I heard that there is a Motul distributor in JC road(Opposite to NMH),I think you can try there for the Motul Fs oil.
My friend recently bought the Motul 3100 oil from that same place.

As far as Shell is concerned i've loved using it on all my single cylinder bikes till yet. The energy FX, Karizma and the R15. It makes the engine smooth and last long as well. for high revving engines (like the R15) it was like a treat. But i'm yet to try it on the Ninja. I don't suppose it comes in 20W 40 rating but I might try the AX5 or AX 7 some time soon.
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

                    • Dear All,
I'm in love with the Ninja 250R. I'd look forward to own it sometime soon, considering its practicality on Indian roads and infinite success stories of many Xbhp'ians here. But...

                      • I hail from a middle-class family & in a job that pays me 25k / month
                      • I'm unmarried
                      • Own an FZ-16 (1st gen)

My question to all brothermen is, please let me know how easy/tough can it go with a person of my economic stature. If there are any middle-incomed owners, kindly enlighten me on this.
And FYI, I'm only keen on going for a pre-owned kwaker, as
                      • the upcoming 2013 model doesn't fascinate me (as its design doesn't look as original as current one)
                      • may get to own one at a reduced price (maintaining one in the long run is the bigger picture I guess!)

To cut a long story short, am I worthy enough for a ninja?

@all: kindly pardon me for posting this query here, thou me not being a Ninja owner.

                        • you have nothing to loose, and taking home 25K per month. there is always a price for committing the crime ( read owning a ninja) so if you are ready for the kill, dont think... just do it.

Hey dude, I hate to rain down on your dreams, but owning a bike isn't just about paying for it and talking ti home... What about all the expenses after that? Fuel consumption won't be very economical 25-30km/l Parts will be very expensive... Maintenance won't be too cheap either. I know a person who crashed his bike and got a repair bill of 2.8lacs. Insurance won't scrap it and he has to spend 50k from his pocket to get it fixed... Could you afford that? Remember murphy's law, everything that can go wrong, WILL go wrong. Make sure you're ready for the potential incidental expenses. If you're ready for that, the Ninja is Hands Down THE bike to get... Good luck with your decision. Ride Safe!!!

                              • @keyrun :- I know how it feels as I too have been in the same position as you, I have seen others around me splurge and at one point of time I did not have enough money to even spend on fuel, but then things change today I own a Ninja650 but then I have waited for it. I would say wait for at least another year, get a salary hike and then probably jump ship [Change Company ]. Then the Ninja will be yours.

Personally I would say don't buy it now, wait for some time.
