The Akra is nice... but I personally would go for the Leo vince EVO II... its got a lovely throaty roar, especially once you rip her past 6K rpm!!
I guess its your personal choice in the end...

As regards increase in power and torque, it would not be greatly exaggerated... i presume you are talking abt just a slip on modification to the exhaust and not a full system replacement...

And btw whats the roll over sensor issue you talking about
It is now something bit common on ninja threads. It seems there was some defect in these sensors on bikes manufactured in the first half of 2012. The problem is that the vehicle shuts down as you cross 8000-9000 rpm which is close to 100kmph. Many xbhpians also experienced this issue. I was waiting till the end of running in to check mine and mine also had the same issue. The company would replace the sensor free of cost if that is the problem. It has been done for many others. But the mechanic at Cochin pbk dont even have the tools to check it as yet. Thus the delay.

Before in case of such a problem, the roller sensor would be replaced but now the problem has been identified and the fault is with the bracket holding the Roller senor i.e the Damper kit which will be replaced free of cost.

            I got mine replaced today.

                • Been a long long time since I've been here so a friendly hello to everyone.

Got a new set of SD's recently (Bangalore). Anyone here who needs a set, let me know and I'll PM you the dealer's contact details. Should run you about INR6600. Not sure if it's the best deal in town but was good enough for me so I took it. Felt really good switching to a new set. Maybe the difference in feel was because the old set had squared out a bit.

Used them for a shortish (~1000km) weekend trip to Kerala through Mysore and Madikeri. Brilliant fun (and one close call) but I had to pay the "interceptor tax" while entering Madikeri :P Those roads have illogical speed limits of 30/40kmph and the interceptor caught me at 60... the trip was well worth the fine though and the cops were really friendly. They had a field day pulling over everyone because, apparently, no one could stick to 40 on an empty, pothole free (hello, heaven!) road.

Road quality ranges from good to flawless from Kumbla all the way to Bangalore. Roads around Sullia suck real bad though and you'll find yourself doing maybe 30kmph on average. The Jalsoor-Mulleria twisties seem to have become a popular biking (the 0 bhp sort) destination and I spotted a busload of Bangalore cyclists enjoying a leisurely Sunday there. Bangalore-Mulleria should make a great weekend trip for anyone interested in pleasant weather and beautiful roads.

At a rest break on the way back, a bunch of superbikes and Harleys zoomed past and I decided I'd spice up the boring straights by playing catch up. The "mini SBK" had no trouble catching up and keeping up with the bigger ones. The first time I've actually ridden with superbikes. I hope they didn't mind the uninvited guest too much A mileage figure of 40+ kmph at the end up a trip wasn't too bad either.

Now I'll leave you with a rare image of a Ninja in camouflage blending into the Malabar foliage. Enjoy.

When the body wanders, the mind rests.

Just got back from Bangalore after 8 days and just thought I'd take my baby for a spin,... and as soon as I hit the 100 kph mark my bike shut down. So I guess I have to pay a visit to the pbk as well :| How long will it take to fix this? And any problems after you had the parts replaced?

The first time the problem occurred,The roller sensor itself was replaced and all was fine for about 2 weeks in which time I covered about 1000kms.
Then again the problem was noticed, only this time it was happening only on 6th gear in excess of 120kmph.

Hence, the damper kit was replaced yesterday. It takes about half hour to 45 mins once they start working on the bike.
I went for small 100kms ride today, did 140-150kmph and the bike seemed fine.

I would always suggest to go in for a full exhaust system over a slip on, as a slip on will do nothing more than adding some sount to your bike. A full system will bring you some hp and torque gains, but more importantly, it will greatly boost your mid range. I'm selling Tyga performance exhaust systems in India, do let me know if you're interested.

Thanks for the Info mate! You're from Bangalore? You know I was hoping to meet a fellow ninja rider through out my stay over there, but one barely saw any green on the roads. I suspect the 85 bucks per premium to be the culprit. Is that so?
