    • Can anyone tell me the price of the rear irc tire of the ninja 250? I know it costs too much in pbk...but about the price outside... And how is the dry and wet grip and tyre life?

The price of both tyres in PBK was around 13K. The rear one would be slightly more expensive at around 7-8K. Am afraid there are no stockists outside PBK in India to the best of my knowledge.
But if you meant outside as in abroad, then it should cost you roughly between 70 US dollars (deals) to 120 dollars (actual price).

Many people who bought the NInja's have complained about IRC's lack of grip in the wet. I perse didnt find much of a problem having tested it to around 140 during heavy rains but do acknowledge the pirellis to be superior in both in dry and wet.

With Pirelli sport demons available a lot less cheaper (7K) and better grip, am not sure if anybody does infact go for the IRC tyres after the originals get worn out.

Not from me dude, I was looking for something in the 1500-200Rs bracket but the only option I found was modifying the paddock stand for the R15.

So I actually decided to build one on my own. using the same right now.
Do let us know if you get your hands on some production stuff for the same.

              • Yup, Pirelli is better option. I bought the Pirelli sports Daemon for Rs 6100 (2700 front, 3400 rear) last week in Pune from Darshan tyres

Do let us know of the performance in the wet after the tire breaks in. I am also set for a new set.

                  • @All,

R15 2.0 tires have direct fit to your Ninja. As you all know the R15 is a track tool, its new tires are simply superb, better than PSD or not, i do not know, but be it cornering in wet or dry its doing its job... Cost is also around Rs2500-2800 MRF, Tubeless, Same config as yours, comes with a 1 year warranty against defects too.

Posting this since the topic of tires came up.

my rear silencer plate screws contact points had some rust formed. i had put oil to keep the same in check.

please e mail bajaj about your problem. it also possible that the dealer/ mechanic is trying to take you for a ride.

about ninja there is little we can do to trouble shoot the bike. so we are dependant on the dealer and especially the mechanic. the bike to be ridden like a ninja , 100% mechanical perfection is required and nothing less. to put in plain language " our life rides with the bike ". take care of it.
Yes, now after the replacement of the spark plugs the bike is running fine. Hits 14.5k rpm with ease and is showing its true colours of a rev-maniac machine.

I am just kind of worried with the brake pads wearing off prematurely and i sincerely hope the switch-off issue was due to the spark plug and nothing else.

The first time I get the bike above 100, reaching 110 and whoa!! suddenly the bike turns off, the oil light comes on and the same story as many of you have mentioned. Stop, switch off the bike, switch on, start and go. No problems there. Again I reach the same speed and again it happens. Consistently in the six or seven times I have reached 110 or just above 9k rpm, this happens. Pbk is 250 kms away from my place. Is it roll over sensor or spark plug issue? How do I check? My bike is just 1900 kms on the odo. It is a May 2012 manufactured one.
Get your bike inspected at the service center. They are the right people for the diagnosis.

                        • After having sent a mail to Bajaj,I got a call from PBK saying that the part had arrived.

Anyways,I am happy to report that my issue got fixed. In my case,it was indeed the roller sensor !

Most of us are already using Pirelli Sports Demon. In fact, I am on second set of PSD. They are far superior than stock tyres.

                            • on the topic of tyres, whats the ideal time to replace your stock? I read somewhere that 9k is the golden limit, however I've done 10k so far and the tyres haven't given me any trouble yet. Driving has mostly been around the western ghats, except for one long trip from Mumbai to Delhi and back.

                              • Pathetic Response from Planet DSG

                                Hi Friends

This is actually OT. Couldnt find any thread relevent to it.

Since this is concerned with Ninja 250R, posting here.

I ordered a Tank Pad from Planet DSG online on 8th Aug, which i have not received till date, they even have not shipped it.

I have had 8 mails on the subject, 12-15 calls & few SMSs also. Every time i am assured that they will call back, but none to date. I even mentioned that I am an XBHPian, still no attention or response.

I am really pissed off, sharing this with all of you, please stay away from Planet DSG.

And Mods, if you reading this, please help me, if possible.

They very well know me by name now however, its Paramjeet.
