Well my experience there satisfactory.I was there the whole time they did the service,The mechanic Suresh there was really receptive.A complete contrast to the way things are done in Khivraj motors.
The final bill came up to 2k.I used the Motul 3100 gold Mineral oil 20w50.
Hey, i kinda new to this fourm - have the Ninja from Aug 2010 though. Can you give me details of the Auto Service - south - i just gave my bike for a "health checkup" of the bike at Khivraj, and south bangalore is where i stay, this would save me a couple of hours for the next time.
BTW, i want to put a led lighting system to my bike - Any suggestions as to where to get it done. or can i do it myself? Anyone done up their bikes - would appreciate a photo / email on how to go about it.
Also, want to change the tail light to a LED - any suggestions where to get it from?
Thx.

Regarding the LED tail lamps search for posts from psych0hans. I think he has LED tail and projector front end installed.Originally posted by Lone_ranger View PostHey, i kinda new to this fourm - have the Ninja from Aug 2010 though. Then,I am not sure. Its priced around 400 per litre I ,So I was under the impression that it was mineral oil.I just the checked the oil rating and decided to use it.In the Engine oil thread I am pretty sure its mentioned as Mineral oil,Originally posted by firen View PostIf i am not wrong the 3100 gold is technosynthese which is the motul's jargon for semi synthetic.
And yes autoservice is much better than Khivraj.
Motul 5100 15w50 is also mentioned as technosynthese,So i am not sure where the distinction lies if both are semi synthetic,Its priced around 800 perl litre I think.
I am not sure what kind of "health checkup" they do at Khivraj motors. But they are pretty bad in my books. They think talking on the phone is more important than hearing to customer's issues.Originally posted by Lone_ranger View PostHey, i kinda new to this fourm - have the Ninja from Aug 2010 though. I strongly suggest Auto Service. Its near Banashankri 2nd stage,Monotype.I just got my First service done there yesterday. The overall experience was good. They also have 3M Bike care facility.
They give a complimentary anti germ 3m polish free with the service. The mechanic Suresh there is also courteous and helpful.
There is also plenty of waitng area for customers where you can personally oversee what is happening, which is non existent I think in khivraj motors.
Has anyone used the 3m anti scratch film on their bikes?Any review of the same?.I have got a couple of scratches on the side faring because of my knee guards.REVVADDICT

Thx - The gears were slipping - so went to get it checked. Since its almost 1.5 years since the last service, i figured to get the entire bike checked up and lubricated.
Anycase, is "Auto Service" an authorized service center? maybe i can get a few electrical accessories fitted on to it. Khivraj is not doing it for me. Dont trust the JC road guys to do a good job ( or am i wrong)

Motul 3100 is Mineral and 5100 is semi synthetic, it is priced at 495/- not 800.Originally posted by vijeth v View PostMotul 5100 15w50 is also mentioned as technosynthese,So i am not sure where the distinction lies if both are semi synthetic,Its priced around 800 perl litre I think.
Are you referring to 7100 and 300 V? They are single easter and double easter full synthetic respectively.Originally posted by Mithungo5100 is a single ester and 3100 multi-ester. Not really sure how one is better than the other - but I guess the analogy of Single Malt and Blended Scotch will be similar.

hi guys,
my ninja might need a replacement of chain&sprocket in sometime soon,so since my brother is returning from us in 2 weeks i am planning to get the chain n sprocket from there(price@pbk is almost double what it costs there)
so would like to know if anyone here has purchased chani&sprockets from US??
this is what i found in ebay
1. Kawasaki EX 250 Ninja 250 R 08-11 Sprockets & Chain Kit | eBay
2. KAWASAKI EX250R NINJA '08/11 CHAIN AND SPROCKET KIT (OEM or CUSTOM) + ANY COLOR | eBay
P.S : i would like go with the OEM gearing only and i am a bit skeptical about the make of the above mentioned sprocket &chain, would be more than happy if any of you can direct me the kawasaki genuine parts :-)

Today I got completely soaked while stuck in heavy traffic and so did my baby ninja. ( His first rain!
). After a minute it felt like I was in a steam sauna (is it normal for the ninja to create this much heat?). And as I was enjoying my out of the blue steam bath when, * A very well mannered gentle man ( refraining from profanities and subduing myself to sarcasm ) in a humble yet over modified Maruti 800 decided that it would suit him best if he, " WHILE STUCK IN TRAFFIC " for his amusement, just for the heck of it try and ram my right side. My weakling Dad was already holding onto me for dear life for the past half an hour as I was trying my best not to cause the old man a heart attack. Luckily even though everything happened all of a sudden, the dude er.. i mean the gentleman stopped in time and we exchanged some extremely friendly conversation
Now I'm back home gave the little guy a bath and my dad's been camping in the bathroom for quite sometime now, hmm...

Yes to be precise. The ninja does create a lot of heat during the traffic as the it would be hard for the bike to suck in air at that point of a time. Meanwhile when on the highway you will considerably feel less heat. Note: Its is a parallel twin engine so it is not surprising when the bike heats up a lot during the traffic! You'll get used to it.Originally posted by aeroblade View PostToday I got completely soaked while stuck in heavy traffic and so did my baby ninja. ( His first rain!

I would recommend trying out engine ice high performance coolant. Should keep the temps down to bearable limitOriginally posted by rkum4881 View PostYes to be precise. .
If one does wants to use it... one will have to completely drain the stock coolant and then flush and then finally install engine ice coolant.
