But, you seriously need to buy leather gloves with knuckle protectors or at least gloves which have good quality leather on the palm area incl. the knuckle protectors.

Textile gloves wont offer much protection.
Thanks Bro, its too hot in delhi for leather gloves and all; but i can understand where are you comming from, i do intend to buy 'em and a nice jacket with shoulder/ elbow/ back protection, knee protectors, etc..
But as i am just driving within 60 Km/hr till the running in period is over, i think i don't need 'em...
Please do let me know any gud store in and around delhi from where i can buy such stuff...
It will be of gr8 help to me; i am also planning to buy a nice expensive helmet; As i ve never used a helmet b4 i need help on that front too, so if you know any gud outlet having 'em, pls help!
    Thanks

Am not sure about all this hoopla on the tyre skidding in the rain. I drove through literally a rain tornado at speeds of 60-70 with only the rear brake and it never skid!! The tarmac thou was not very smooth. Guess would have to try out this on a smoother surface...

Been watching this space for a long long time. I booked my Green Baby on 19 Feb and got the delivery on 15 April. You can see that this is my first post. I will post my pics and experiences in the evening. I plan to maintain my bike as stock as possible. But i have done some additions/ subtractions :-
SEE YOU GUYS AND BE SAFE!!!
Congrats Gurpreet on your new machine. Get ready for a lot of questions and answers thou!!

      Addendum:

Just got back to Pune after a 22 hour split-ride from Kerala.

Went to Khivraj motors (Blore) to get my chain lubed and they charged me 56 bucks for it..At Shirode (Pune) it was free for me. And they didnt do a professional job as they didnt clean the chain properly (just wiped it off with a cloth). But a big thanks to the Bajaj guys for spotting the low level disc fluid on the front brake and topping it up. That came free thou!!

@ Tenhut, BTW I overheard someone talking in Khivraj Motors (Blore) that the IRC costs only 4K!!.

      • [QUOTE=trustvishwas;

I have observed that when the tyres are cold, the bike skids even with slightest of rear braking. I skidded on Sunday morning within 20 metres from my home at speeds of 15-20 km per hour. Due to low speeds, it was not a problem. So the easiest solution is to take extra care till tyres have warmed up.

After warming up, there is no problem with road holding of stock IRC tyres (unless you want to fit in special wet season tyres).[/QUOTE]

Thanks Vishwas, Bluevolt, JAKRAP and others. Will try to ride slowly. Yes, when tyres are cold this happens. Also when I ride fast on wet/watery roads or take turn, it skids.

They were Bolt on frame sliders which the seller said that he got it from Bangkok. I got them for 5500; will PM you if u need the details. Later on i got to know from someone that Original Frame Sliders would cost around 10 to 15 K ; I think the ones i got are good enough and would do the job
Anyone else who have any idea on this topic, pls shed some more light....
          Welcome to Xbhp
I think this is the first report of a frame slider in the forum with out cuts and drills. The price is good as well. Congrats for the new ride and be safe....
Thanks for the pics and details..

If I knew when accidents can happen, I wouldn't be lying in a bed (bed rest) for the last 4 days. Head and back injury (not serious) @40 Km/h in Honda Activa.

60Kmph!? If you drop off a bike at even 25kmph and graze your skin on the road, you will be reminded of your biology lessons at school. Serious. Last year I spilled my Royal Enfield at 15 kms an hour and that put my leather Alpine star gloves to rest, trashing it completely.

Congrats on the green Ninja. What a beauty, the wait for green color is well worth it i think. And like others said, please get some basic riding gears.
I also ride in delhi on a P220 and leather gloves good ones dont cause you too much discomfort along with a good helmet.

Riding jacket may be too much but stil its advised to wear one- atleast a mesh one which maintains a little airflow.

Regarding Trip to Jaipur, please PM me a few days in advance whenever you are going. Its gonna be too hot , have a 220, would be tough catching you but am sure you are not gonna exploit the full potential of Ninja as yet.

                  • Thanks Bluevolt & Coolboy, Point noted and taken well Bluevolt, will get the safety gear asap...
Coolboy, i cannot go beyond 4K RPM as yet and at 4K in the top gear ninja would do just 60- 65 Km/hr, do u wanna come along, gonna be fun for me and we could share our experiences with the rest of the guys after the journey, but 60 Km/hr will take out the fun part of riding such a bike; What say???

PS: i was planning to leave this Friday and get back by Sat evening; this is just to pile up some Kms for the bike b4 the first service on 15 May.

Thats the whole reason the question "Is your bike modified or original" keeps popping on the road. . Green gives more of a feeling of being 'modified'
