I personally do not like green but after comparing black and green in person, i came to a conclusion that if it has to be this bike it will only be Green and nothing else...

Guys let these blackies think whatever they want to think, bikes(Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Hero H, Bajaj, Etc) are available in black, red, yellow, green, white, etc.; BUT ONLY KAWASAKI SELLS ITS BIKE IN PATENTED GREEN COLOUR known as "KAWASAKI GREEN" world over. Thus we guys (Green ninja owners) have got a bike that has a unique colour and only by looking at the colour one can say that it is a Kawasaki product.....

My point of view over black
Mine is green with black tail, the only issue its hard to clean such a small area, after all effort dust get collected there only am too lazy to do the whole exercise every morining. finally got the tail painted in green.
This is my reason for No BLACK for me.

I believe the two bikes pictured here are from a company called Honda and they are green in colour. so it is not a unique colour.Originally posted by GuRpReEt SiNgH View PostGuys let these blackies think whatever they want to think, bikes(Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Hero H, Bajaj, Etc) are available in black, red, yellow, green, white, etc.; BUT ONLY KAWASAKI SELLS ITS BIKE IN PATENTED GREEN COLOUR known as "KAWASAKI GREEN" world over. Yes Kawasaki corporate colour is Green but it does not mean that each bike in a corporate colour looks great. Imagine a bajaj bike in orange and blue.

A lil peek into the history and this is what was yielded
A ninja or shinobi (忍者 or 忍び?) was a covert agent or mercenary of feudal Japan specializing in unorthodox arts of war. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination, as well as open combat in certain situations. The ninja, using covert methods of waging war, were contrasted with the samurai, who had strict rules about honor and combat.
Juxtaposing this on the biking scenario, if you own a green ninja its a give away that you are a NINJA
.
So the only Ninja that lives up to its name is the BLACK NINJA bcos its covert, blends in and smokes others!!

Talking about improvement in performance. What do you all think about putting in a new rear sprocket with 2 less teeth? I feel that the low end of our bike is ....quite low and am ready to sacrifice top end.Originally posted by manan_in_2000 View PostGuys lets talk about the performance of the bike and how it can be improved instead of debating over color.

Had a busy morning today...
1st after a long time went for a 20 min jog... Since I got the Ninja my gyming has totally gone for a toss.
For the past few days both my Ninja and my Laptop had not been performing well.
So deleted all the crap from my Laptop and started the Defrag. As for the bike, I cleaned the air filter, followed the steps mentioned by bluevolt earlier, the only difference was that I used 2T oil for the filter after cleaning it with Diesel.
Now my Laptop is performing well..... but My Ninja is zooming. Man... the difference in performance is incredible. (The odo is at 4k+ and the last time the filter was cleaned was @1k - 1st Service)
For the past few days, I had forgotten the 8000 rpm roar... but heard it today and it was Music.
sigpicI feel like Clark Kent on the streets riding the Pulsar, On the track.. with my Ninja.. I feel like Superman.

a 2 T less sprocket at the rear would actually help with extending the gearing of the bike.. its got enough grunt from 5000 rpm onwards to take the extra load.
But if you dont upshift around 4k rpm, you are good to go. It will help with cruising, and also might just improve mileage!! haha.
My offerings to the gods of speed -
- KTM Duke 200
- Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

more teeth on the back means lower gear quicker revving low end power + less top end. Fewer teeth on the front same thing. The opposite will give you less low end off the line more top end.
What does this mean? If you want to go fast quick go 2+back or -1 Front.
If you want to cruse all day at lower RPM go -2 back or +1 in front.
If you need to set a bike up for a closed race track you want to investigate mixing these combination's.
Vishwas you want to go + at the back with more teeth not less !
+2 Rear sprocket for the 250R = Rs 5000
another thing is that when you change the sprockets, you will have a speedometer that is inaccurate. Bone stock ninja already has 10% speedo error. This means that reflected kms, and speed are wrong on the gauges. You can buy devices, such as a speedohealer to fix the problem, or just live with it, as it isnt really a big deal until you try to sell it. - Your chain will wear faster if you go - in the front. It will be going around a smaller circle and have a higher angular velocity.
- -1 up front makes that sprocket shaft spin faster, creating faster wear on the shaft and on the chain ( because now the chain has to wrap around a smaller diameter ) where going to a bigger sprocket in the back makes it just go around a larger diameter does not affect the spin
- + at the rear may requiere adding extra links to your stock chain but a Rs 5k +2 rear sprocket on the ninja250R doesnt need any extra links.
Inference : go for the + at rear than a - at front.
for these reasons the rear sprocket is generally more expensive that the front.
The optimum config for the 250R would be -1 at front and +2 at rear. With -1 and +2 you are gonna have a tough time keeping the front tyre on the asphalt in the first gear though.Last edited by TenHut; 05-06-2010, 08:19 PM.sigpic
