I just completed the second phase of running in (1600 kms) & @ 1601 kms i pulled the throttle & boy oh boy it was just music ..7k- 12k in every single gear is mind boggling ..fcuk the engine sound @ idling & fcuk the vroom ..vroom that 600's give you.. this machine got me giddy in 15 minutes of tearing it apart..yea that what i felt once i parked my bike after 75 kms riding out of which i did 30 kms done 15 minutes..it is better than what i expected & its bang for every buck i paid. Handling great & braking divine.
I could feel people disappearing behind me @ some speed & if you rode the bike to 80% its limit for flat 5 minutes you would not find the same vehicles next to you even if you rode @ 60 kms for the next 10 mins. Really quick & just waiting to ride it tomorrow! Whoever said that 3 Lakhs is to much should do 10k rpm i gear 2/3 & 4 & i'm sure he will say its all worth it. So all you running in brothers ...you do not know what is going to hit you @ 1600kms..cheers!!
please gives us the break up of speeds attained at what rpm and gear

AFAIK, petrol pump owners just add some additive (which is quite cheap) to normal petrol, after which they sell it as POWER, EXTRA PREMIUM, SPEED etc. My father was saying something about this once. He is in this Fuel business. I will try to get some information out of him, next time. If this turns out to be true, then we all can buy these additives, and fill the tank with normal petrol, and add that..Originally posted by bluevolt View Post
Sadly, that seems the case since the minimum fuel RON is 91 Octane.
Glad you like the posts - I had a lot of unanswered questions when I was waiting for my bike, so I hope my posts helps current/future owners or enthusiasts who are interested in this bike...

Just installed the Cf Akrapovic exhaust on my cousins ninja 250r .
Imo it sounds superb ,alot better then my two brother exhaust, its deep and not that loud as compared to 2bros .Just perfect.
Anyone planning to buy a slip on ,blindly put your money on the akrapovic
...Would try to shoot a comparison video between 2bros and akrapovic soon.
Cousins bike with the akrapovic and my recent ride pictures.

Yes, I did, they used Castrol 20W-50 Semi-Synthetic. As far as I know, Fully synthetic oil should be used later on after a few thousand kilometers as JD pointed out.Originally posted by sreehari_r1 View Post@ Bluevolt.. Did you check the engine oil they used...??? Can we use synthetic oil in future after the first 2 service???????
Nope. No scratches at all.Originally posted by rohitraghavan View PostGreat detailed pictorial representation of the service process. I just have to ask, were there any scratches post the service minor even??
Ok to wash with light pressure water spray, but NEVER with seats off since all the electricals are housed there.Originally posted by sheelpriye View PostIs it okay to wash the bike sans its fairings, seat etc?
have heard that the wires/wiring/electrical components shouldn't be exposed to water
Thanks!!Originally posted by farfromnormal View Post@Bluevolt : Buddy i am loving all your posts, very very usefull to everyone

Isn't it 10W-40 ???? I have the e-Manual of Ninja 250 2008 Carb version. Its mentioned as SAE 10W-40... Just check the manual and with the engineers.... Could that change be for the Indian conditions???Originally posted by bluevolt View PostYes, I did, they used Castrol 20W-50 Semi-Synthetic. Some pictures of the waterproof Bike cover I bought for the Ninja - it completely hides the motorcycle, and has slots in the front and rear to pass your cable locks through. The outer layer is synthetic with seam sealing, and the inside is lined with a soft fabric so that it does not stick or scratch the surface. The silver area is heat proof, so even if your exhausts are hot, the cover won't be damaged. The brand is Oxford 'Rainex' in a medium size - I paid $79 Oz dollars for it. Worth every penny if you love the bike as I do!
My old girl RE is not in the picture as it is out for service and due to be back tomorrow...
I must be the only nut in the whole apartment who uses his car parking space to park his two motorcycles inspite of the fact that people are willing to pay for that space if I let it out on rent:

Completely covers the bike - nothing is visible. There is also a snap buckle which wraps the cover in the bottom midsection. So it keeps 95% of the dust out even when there is a strong duststorm or gust.

I have passed a cable lock around the front wheel through the covers so that no one is tempted to steal the covers!

It is 20W-50 in the provided owner manual. Maybe FI versions take a different grade of oil as compared to carb ones.Originally posted by sreehari_r1 View PostIsn't it 10W-40 ????
