True..else one can wait for the Z750

I heard that it is in the pipeline for a launch soon (that is if rumors are to be believed)

Agree with you Vishwas. Can't compare the 690 single cyl to the twin Kawa.

Was suggesting this in lieu of the Hyosung considering that a bigger engine was the requirement (and looks, practicality, etc.).

      • Is there any difference between the 2 batteries :-

        1. Yuasa Super MF Pafecta YTX9-BS

        2. Yuasa Super Sealed YTX9-BS

I believe both the batteries are for Ninja 250. I was facing a battery problem so i ordered Bachoo motors for the battery and he has sent the first battery.

Are you sure? I was planning to do the same, in fact had put up a 'for sale' for my bike on this page, but after checking out the GT650, changed my mind.

I was also surprised cos the US ninja forums (ninjette.org) claim that they get valve clearances checked and adjusted at 600 miles or 1000 kms IIRC.

Don't delay getting this issue rectified. Head to PBK and ask them to check and adjust accordingly.
Thanks for the link posted. I went through some posts on doing valve adjustments and it seems like a really complicated job. These guys in the US seem to be doing a lot of maintenance on their own.
I 'll just leave it to the professionals since i just don't have the time for this.
By the way has anyone while getting their periodic services, actually seen the PBK guys opening up the engine for adjusting valve clearances. Because looking at the complication of the procedure and skill involved it seems there are more chances to get this wrong than right.

Also I read somewhere that tighter than required valves will lead to less noise from engine, better performance but also reduced engine life, while loose valves make more noise, but don't affect engine life.

I know. I am in a similar situation. Don't want to buy N650 but do not have any option but to wait for some better bike to be launched. However, GT650 is pathetic.

I have not seen PBK guys doing it till now. My bike has done 23k.

                    • RPM issue

                      Help needed guys.....
My ninja is 3 months old and has done 4.5k on the odo..have got the engine oil changed twice using motul 3000 15w 50....Recently i discovered that the RPM at Ideal is less than 1k mark. previously it used to be around 1.2/1.3.. dont know if somebody has fiddled wid it or it needs to be adjusted as the bike has done 4.5k on the odo.
some times it even stalls when i release the clutch. Do i need to get the clutch adjusted and the RPM set.
One more issue that i m facing is the radiator fan vibration.Last week i have taken the bike for a 300 KM ride and most of of the time it was raining and the roads were full of slush and water. I have cleaned the radiator fins using the soft brush and water but still i can hear a lot of noise and vibrations from the fan as soon as it kicks in. Advise needed guys..
                      Thanks.

                        OT :

I am surprised here, No one is talking about Triumph line up of motorcycles? If i were on the market with a budget of 5L and up, i would definitely give Triumph a thought.

I am pretty sure that fit and finish would be on par with the Japs or dare i say even better.

I am sitting on the fence for my next motorcycle, and frankly, the Triumph launch doesn't excite me as much.

For one, their Triumph Tiger is super expensive and the standard one with the tubeless tires is not even being launched. The Speed Triple is not my type and the current Daytona and street triple is going to be refreshed for 2013 so not sure about them either. Besides, no one knows when they are going to actually start selling - and where the initial dealerships would open.

I am waiting for Kawasaki-Bajaj combine to pull out something from their hat. Have experienced the ownership of the 250R for two years, I think they are one of the best dealers when it comes availability of parts/service and other areas. Not perfect, but seems to be better than the others.

I wish Harley had something more more modern/sporty - they are the only premium motorcycle brand in India who have done everything right in terms of brand/product management.

Read the owners manual regarding engine RPM at idle. You can adjust it yourself to the recommended setting.

If you have ridden in the rains, most definitely your air filter is clogged. Read the manual for steps on cleaning your air filter. You can do this yourself at home.

If the issues still persist post these steps, approach PBK for help.
