Guys I have a genuine doubt here
When we are running in the bike, and we are supposed to ride first 800kms below an rpm of 4 and next 800kms below an rpm of 6,
Are we supposed to do early shifts, reach top gear and then do an rpm of 4 or can we rip the bike till an rpm of 4 in each gear and then maintain that rpm of 4 in top gear?
Cause I did my first 700kms with early shifts(rpm of 2-3) in the first 5 gears, and then maintaing an rpm of 4 in the 6th gear riding at 60.
Then it struck me, that each and every review i read kept saying that the Ninja is a rev happy bike and loves being ripped, so I started from standstill and ripped till an RPM of 4 in each gear.. and boy i was BLOWN away!
I rode the next odd 100kms like that, wanted to ask if I am doing the right thing or not.. Please guide

Hi guys,
I am looking to upgrade the original taillamp with an LED one with integrated turn lights;
also intend to upgrade the standard turn indicators with slim LED turn indicators (the plug and play types without any wire cutting...)
Has anyone carried out the above mod? I sure could use some help regards which websites to order the same from!"Home is where my bike sits still long enough to leave a few drops of oil on the ground."

n_aditya got it from there, just go back a few posts, and you can find him and PM him for details. His is a plug and play type, like the one you are looking for. Saw it on his bike, looks hot!Speed - (spēd) n.

@ psych0hans: Hello brother! this may be my first post on this thread as I am not a Ninja owner, though hoping to own one..
Let me congratulate you on the awesome DIY with the bike . It was really a well utilized and money and time. That colour scheme (red and white) is kick ass. If you are planning to get your Ninja painted in it, I am the first one to appreciate it.
Being a Ducati fan, and aspiring to get Ninja; I should say you have given me one solution for two issues
Anyways, that was a serious, nice job dude and keep it up..

I'm not planning on painting my bike red and white, I actually wanted to make it black and white, using white decals... Not too sure of how it will look though, so holding off for now...
Good luck buying your ninja, I assure you you will not regret it... If you can't buy brand new, look into the used market, you'll find plenty out there... A lot of people buy ninjas as their first bikes and then quickly move on to better pastures, aka liter class bikes... You shouldn't have too much trouble finding a good one in the 2-2.5lac range... My own ninja was bought used for 2.4lacs 10months old with 2900kms on the clock...Now offering Tyga Performance products in India - Brought to you by Midnight Trades

Some pics of my DIY fender Eliminator... Make sure you remove the tail section before you attempt this, as I damaged one of my rear panels while doing the cutting. My next mod will be installing a new numberplate with built in LED turn signals, and then removing the stock signals...

Long trip on Ninja
Came back from Chandigarh on Monday (30th April) approximately 245kms from my house in Delhi.
Things I noticed
1. I'm not a touring guy.
2. Worst time to ride (personal opinion) is when the sun is rising. All flys and mosquitoes are there for your welcome.
3. With rear sets and 6 feet height the knees started giving in around 130-140kms. And bum started giving in when I was about to reach home
4. I maintained speed of 100kmph, which while coming back I thought could have been 120-130kmph. But since this was my first long trip, i think it was acceptable.
5. Racers should not hit the highway with the same mindset and tourers should not hit the city with the same mindset. Or else both are in for a surprise.
I used my F1 style Rain lights during the dark which I think helped my visibility.
The headlamps were sufficient even in low beam, didn't have to use high beam apart from dippers.
My running for the 8000rpm limit complete when I was around 40kms from my place on my way back. So I got a chance to explore the power even more. So was only able to take it to 130kmph.
Took me around 4 hours including a break of about 40 minutes to cover the distance which gives me an average speed of 80+kmph and a mileage of around 27-28kmpl. As far as heating is concerned the needle didn't go beyond 30% when I was constant at 100kmph for minutes together, but in city is went beyond 70% in a couple of minutes when I couldn't go beyond 60kmph.Last edited by R-series; 05-02-2012, 01:52 AM.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.
