You can expect to pay close to this figure. 10k +/- from this figure is a realistic expectation as long as the bike is maintained well and also since it has low miles on it.

2010 model should cost around 2L if it's in real superb comndtion!! else it will come more down near to 1.75 L

There is a second dealer in Bhiwandi for used bikes. He quoted 1.25 lakhs for my friends good ninja June 2010 model. if he sells with a good comission than it would be 1.75 Lac. He said "Sir mostly no one comes to buy a Ninja in market that too a second one, he said selling tips I am blocking my money on this bike, if you want to give at 1.4L last."

We din't sell as it was breaking a lot. he wanted to go for HD.

Any owner will feel bad when he's hard earn money breaks like hell while selling

Could be a genuine case of owner buying it and having no time to ride it. A lot of people in IT jobs travel a lot and otherwise are a busy bunch with work sucking up their weekends too.

Hah ! No one in their right frame of mind will sell their ninja for such a low price unless its a distress sale mate.

Like i mentioned, the ninja's IDV (Insured declared value) for the 2nd year is 2.3 lacs. Even if i burn the bike and claim insurance, i will get 2 lac 7 thousand (90% of IDV). Why will anyone sell the bike for a price lower than the IDV?

dude, how do you conclusively know he would make only 50k on the above sale? It could be a LOT higher. Dealers are known to quote very low and make fat profits... if not, they would choose another profession

Edit - does he really know what the ninja is or did he think it was a mod-job on a pulsar or R15?

There are lots of owners who have bought this bike but are unable to ride it much. No need to keep it in showcase.

Just because you & your friend went to a dealer and asked its price, does not make it a standard price. If you can provide a bike in superb condition, below 3000 km run at lesser than 2 lakhs, I have couple of friends waiting to buy them. Please hurry.

Is it a hero or honda product that people will get good re-sale value ?? How many ninja's do you see on road?? merely few. It is not like people are not capable of buying it but don't want to put big amount in bikes, Very few people and passionate people will buy such high end bike, but not at that high price for second hand!
Every one likes to sell it's product for higher margin but it is sold by luck and market value only.

And yes one of my friend has a Black ninja 2010 model 9k kms done, bought it as second hand from Asansol kolkatta just 1.6 yrs old for 1.85 L good condition.

Have you seen at what price does R15 in good condition 2010 model goes to dealer ?? mine is quoted as 55k only 19400kms done regular serviced no dent or bend. new tyres and alloy. This price was quoted to me by KTM, Second hand dealer , and bajaj showrooms. There are many second hand R15 V2.0 for sale in mere 80k in KTM lot. they a dealer who purchase this and they asked me for any friends for that.

I don't know at what price would that dealer sell that bike but this approx amount was quoted by almost all second bike dealer only a difference of 5-8k only.

You yourself are saying that your friend purchased a 2010 ninja which has done 9k km at 1.85 lakh and you are now saying that similar 2010 ninja which has done 2600 km should cost 1.75 lakh.

Please be consistent in what you are saying.

Ninja has zero resale market in India. No one would buy one unless he actually wants one. Anyone who wants to buy a R15 wouldn't actually buy a resale Ninja. because even though he may afford the purchase price, he may not afford spare part prices.

Normal rules of resale market do not apply to bikes like Ninja or those costing more. The potential customer base is very very small and in case of a distress sale, the seller may get extremely low price because of this very low customer base. However, this is a very rare case.

Hey Guys, I was looking at replacing the front tyre of the bike. Got some weird info from 2 of the dealers ( sai iyengar, Lalbagh and tyre junction, Jayanagar) Apparently they have stopped importing tyres (some issue with ISI marking), so there is no stock of sports deamon etc

1) Can someone tell me if this is the case at other dealers as well?
2) What are the alternative manufacturers (Indian brands) that have been tried

I also had a chat with Prasanna and looks like it takes a really long time to get the tyres sourced via bajaj!

This guy is an all round automobile lover. Has N250, an R15, ZMR and a HH Passion. Has a Honda City & an Innova too.. So Imagine... He just sold his R15 too, as he didnt have time to ride. Rides only on weekend kind of.

I bought my ninja used... Paid 2.4l for an april 2011 model with 2900kms on the clock... you should pay a bit less than that, as your bike is a year older... 2l wouldn't be too bad I guess... But negotiate for the best possible price... Don't think it will go below 2...
