a word to the prospective ninja owners. yes a basic gear set is a must. but above all and the most important is learn and understand the bike take your time ride safely. ninja used carelessly is a deadly tool. no amount of gear ( or the best gear in the universe) can ever be a substitute for careless riding. Super biking calls for safe biking. enjoy.Originally posted by trustvishwas View PostMountain biking on impulse with my wife and our bike goes down in water

0-60 = 3.5
0-100 = 8.5
topwhack of 158kmph(speedo)
I didnt know Karizma, 220 etc could achieve those timings.
And now there is Joel's worked C250R if u are following his thread.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Congratulations bro! Looking good! It will take time to get the smirk of your face! It's been a year now and i still can't. As someone so kindly mentioned here ... Don't use sms lingo here or on any forum in the world. It's Just plain irritating to decode and read!! I'm right now gonna blame it on the excitement! By the way i've not yet done it... But please take of the disgusting saree guard. For me my mom wanted to ride pillion once and was thinking of sitting side ways as is so common all over India... So being the occasionally polite person that i am... Did not say no. I just said if you can climb up then no issues. Needless to say .... She tried... Thanks to the step up seat she couldn't...(Thnx kawasaki and Bajaj)Originally posted by Cursed4Eva View Post
It's just unsafe to sit on a bike sideways. But i guess people wearing Saree can't help it.
Wear normal jeans if possible ladies.( My mom used to in her younger days.) The fact that all bikes, even supersport bikes have to have saree guards... It's just plain ridiculous. Why would a lady with a saree wanna sit on a R1 for example? And can you imagine which direction she'll fly in if there's a hard braking situation? It would look horrible and be totally unsafe! Thankfully the high seat in these bikes including the Ninja 250.... Act as a deterrent! As far as normal fuel is concerned one can use it. I've used it occasionally and never faced a problem. I do try to however , tank up on premium fuel like speed wheneve and as often as possible. The baby i've heard likes it better!! Once again Happy and safe riding! Helmet and Gloves should be good for now. Ride slow (At leat follow the breakin period and open up a little more after the first servicing. It will be hard but must be done.) Take your time in buying good gear. Don't pressurize yourself to buy everything at once. Unless your filthy rich it's quite hard. I had the money since i work here but i still take my time to read reviews and add to my gear slowly. Can't spend all on the bike and gear. Need to send mom and dad money as well. Enjoy the ride and take your time. The helmet would be a good place to start and must be bought amongst the first of all your gear. All other stuff can follow slowly... It's not cheap to buy other stuff and not mandatory in the beginning unless you plan to ride like a moron and even then it's not fool proof! Nothing ever is in this world! Cheers!Last edited by jeofpereira; 01-26-2012, 06:31 PM. Reason: Typos (there are a few left) and repeated lines! I do that when i'm tired! Been working the graveyard shift this past week!

I usually avoid it as much as possible but like you said, I just wanted to get back downstairs and on the bike as quick as possibleOriginally posted by jeofpereira View PostAs someone so kindly mentioned here ... Luckily I have a shell right opposite to my appartments so just filled her up with shell super (was already using that with my p220fi)Originally posted by jeofpereira View PostAs far as normal fuel is concerned one can use it. Never thought that the breaking in period would be such torture... I mean I have done it with the p220 but then again that was like riding the bike a little slower but sticking to 4000rpm on the ninja... grrrr Needs to be done though! Earlier today I was going at 40 on the road, hit the indicator to turn right and a guy on a karizma juz sped past me, luckily I saw him on the mirror, the guy turns back and smirks... am like ok have a good time telling friends that you just outsped a ninjaOriginally posted by jeofpereira View PostHelmet and Gloves should be good for now. oh...that's good...ride safe
P.S. - to finish off the atleast the first 800KM @4K, one suggestion is to get-away in the weekend...try the Chennai-B'lore or, Chennai-Trichy highways and keep riding...in few weekends you will b able to cover...but be patient to ride in limit
Motorsport is fun. Safety is a mandate. Be in shape & ride long
