I just want to know if its worth the extra am spending cuz I am really stretching myself extremely thin to get this (4.5 years with the p220fi and its screwed up brakes drove me crazy )
    Here's a laymans opinion.

I own a ZMA and have ridden both the CBR250R and N250R(Both the grey import's & one's provided by Bajaj.)

In simple words the CBR's a ZMA with more BLING!, a bigger mill and a higher top speed. No offence meant.

I did test drive all 3 (cbr abs and non abs and ninja)
I went to the bajaj showroom as I was not happy with the brakes on the CBR 250 (w/o abs) and I wanted to test drive the abs version which was only available in one showroom and that showroom was opp. to pbk
I thought wth.. am here let me test drive the expensive one too
I asked the guy y should I pay 1 lac more for the same cc and his answer was " drive and see sir" and see I did... It was amazing.. the brakes were spectacular (coming from a p220fi and 4.5 years of struggling with screwed up brakes)

The reason for my confusion was this... after my testdrive of the cbr I was clear I wanted the ninja and I told the sales guy am going to go with the ninja as the cbr doesnt feel as powerful and the brakes were not on the same level as the ninja... the sales guy told me that this was a demo bike that has run around 10k and used harshly by ppl and a new one will def be on da level of the ninja and therein my confusion started again

lol, I like the way you said it
Btw... where did you pick up the seat cowl from? pbk?

no accessories with ninja. you just get the bike. i paid the full amount for the bike as the bike was available for delivery within a week.

there is no comparison between a CBR and Ninja except for the number "250". go thru the cbr thread and you will know how honda has made CBR for india. you get only what you pay for.

finally for the 100 th time let me repeat again that ninja 250 is the best quarter litre bike in the world as on date.
Yes brain realizes what you say but theres a small voice inside that keeps forcing me to check my wallet

You must be getting the 2012 version without the 'R'.Don't knw what difference it makes!
Also,i did'nt have much problems with my p200 which i got from the same pbk.
Hope they deliver your bike as promised...All the best.you'l be the proud owner of the best quarter liter in the world!
I dont think am getting the 2012 version If its not the 2012 version should I wait? From what I read online the 2012 version only has some diff decals the specs remain the same... any point in waiting for the version w/o the "r"?

WOW! This is what I was telling my cuz today to justify buying this.. exact words what I felt like... Told him the cbr felt like a faster karizma..

Thanks a lot for putting my fears to rest, all of you, you have been a big help I am paying for it tomorrow

I can see that you have bought the bikes at diff times for diff prices, did you pay the exact quoted price or did the pbk guys drop one or 2k from the initial quote?

Damn am not gonna get much sleep till I have the ninja

The pbk guys are quoting 30k for my 2007 p220fi - 23000kms engine in perfect condition (as per mechanics who checked it at pbk, kun honda and a yam showroom) very few scratches... I am the only person (apart from the mechanics of course) to have rode that bike, is this a good offer? I am not in immediate need of money and can wait for a few months to sell it if needed... any idea?

Once again thanks a lot for all the quick replies You guys helped loads

Am buying a Ninja Lime Green from chennai probiking tomorrow, I have a few questions...

        1. They quote 3.15 lacs, is that right for chennai?

        2. Do we get any accessories with the bike like tank guard or rear seat cowl?

        3. My current bike is the 220fi so have had bad experiences with these guys for 4.5 years and a part of me keeps tellin me am asking for more punishment my going for the ninja (almost went with the cbr just because they have service centers closer and i didnt want to deal with probiking again)... are they as clueless with the ninja as they are with the p220fi?

        4. They have promised me registration and delivery by wednesday, so do I pay the full amount upfront?

        5. Anything else I need to keep in mind while dealing with these guys?

Thanks for the replies in advance...

Don't worry you wont repent by your choice, the treatment by chennai pbk for mass 220 and niche Ninja owners are different. 3.15L is the new price after Jan 2012 the old price was 3.08L..

thanks for the reply gouravkatyal,i have offered that price after negotiation and the bikes service record is intact and good.

if i go for this deal, what all things do i need to check to be sure for me to jump into this.

and also update me about not getting the benefit of warranty. and how it can affect.

The 2012 lime green version in US is kinda candy lime green which in my opinion looks wicked!

Ask the PBK guys if they are selling that version.
As for the R. The 2010 and 2011 ones did not have 250 or "R" written anywhere. The engine is the same.

                • My FI light has turned itself on

Went for a ride yesterday and the FI light turned itself on in the middle of the ride with no apparent reason. Is there a checklist one can go through to eliminate all mechanical glitches? Am asking because I'll strike all of those off the list before I take it to the service centre for an electronic diagnosis (if at all they do that). The light isn't blinking, it's just turned itself on.

I also swapped with another Ninja (shamshuis) and found that my brakes have lost their bite and progression. Has anyone else experienced this? Motorcycle is six months and 3000-odd km old.

On another note, spotted a pair of Ninja 250s on NH8 at Vasai, around the Saphale toll booth and at Varai - we kept passing one another. One was green, the other black. Both had aftermarket exhausts. Is it anyone from this forum? If yes, we were the big bunch of motorcycles that you kept spotting for quite some time. Do say hi sometime.

                  • Bike problem

Since a couple of days, having a bit of a problem in the bike.

Due to the stop and go daily traffic, whenever the bike get hot and the radiator fan runs... the bike is having a tendency to stop automatically, no matter in whatever gear it is.

I think the fan is pulling more power than necessary.. not sure though...

Have checked the Radiator fins and they are not dirty... neither the FI light is ON.

                    Any suggestions...???

PS: This problem is happening about 6 out of 10 times.. Suresh at Autoservice tried to replicate it , but that time the bike just did not showed up..
                    RIP Marco

The Cbr guy is just trying to hit his sales target. Show him the 3 finger salute and ask him to read between the lines . The cowl is available at pbk itself and is an original accessory. My 2010 ebony black was quoted ex showroom 2.69 and on road was 2,99384 exactly. No regrets man never. Not once. If you get the 2012 candy green ... Worth the extra bucks imho. Plastic spares may be more as well though.... The removing of the ''r'' is just re- branding and has been done for the ninja 250 and 650 here in the UAE as well as other markets. It will not make the bike slower by any means conceivable! Your only torture will be the break-in period!!
