WOW! This is what I was telling my cuz today to justify buying this.. exact words what I felt like... Told him the cbr felt like a faster karizma..

Yup and I bet all current CBR owners who've owned a ZMA in the past would agree.
The comical thing is that, in my college there are currently 3 CBR's(2 Black non abs and 1 red abs.) the Red guy and I take the same route back home and its really pitiful to see him do double down shifts for a quick overtake. I guess its high time people understand that the CBR's a sports tourer and respect that instead of trying to trash the bike just for cheap thrills.

The pbk guys are quoting 30k for my 2007 p220fi - 23000kms engine in perfect condition (as per mechanics who checked it at pbk, kun honda and a yam showroom) very few scratches... I am the only person (apart from the mechanics of course) to have rode that bike, is this a good offer? I am not in immediate need of money and can wait for a few months to sell it if needed... any idea?

If the bike's a well maintained one then nothing less that 40K i.e with respects to prices in Kerala. Else if the bike's taken a good beating then expect only 23~27K.

There have been some good reviews about SOL helmets in xbhp helmets section. Worth a try

I guess the price quoted to you is for the lime green one. Sounds ok though. Bought my Ebony black one for Inr 4300/- Heard the cbr250r guys are paying 8k or so for theirs and it looks sad compared to the Ninja cowl imho. Good deal all around. Helmet wise i'm using a GRs i believe. When i have saved i will go in fo Arai. Likely to cost me around 40-50k but it's worth it. There should be plenty of other options though. All the guys on this thread have killer ones. SO WHEN"S THE GOOD NEWS?

Please buy a decent helmet and armor. Cramster is a good local brand. Otherwise try the usual a* etc.

Also, can't stress how important riding boots are to save your ankle.

40-50k for a helmet, omg... swear i din know helmets existed for that cost.. I mean honestly I didnt. I am making the full payment tomorrow morning... I have set up RTGS, added them today so waiting for the 24 hour window to close... day after tomorrow registration and delivery

Yeah their one of the best in the world. It's not however mandatory to buy those. They are the very top end and are used by Motogp guys and ppl whoo have the money to spare. i myself haven't bought one. Even working here in the UAE with a resonably good job (No Tax to pay!!) , find that expensive. Maybe someday when i have the extra money i may consider it. Buy good ones though ! Riding boots are really important if you plan to do a good bit of riding and are for added protection. Body Armour as in a chest brace that i have seen here (UAE) would cost about 5 k INR.
A good riding / leather jacket with armour pads from Alpinestar would be in the neighbourhood of 25-45k all the way to full leather suits for 85k. Not recommended unless offcourse you are fillthy rich! .
There should be something somewhere in the 15-20k range and probably less. It will save you from road rash in the event of a fall. I would recommend getting one.
The temptation is always to buy the top line of everything in one go. Avoid this and keep stuff for later upgrades!
Please consult experienced members here before buying gear. Do not buy duplicate stuff.... It could cost you your life! Cheers!!

I have a p220fi now - never worn a helmet/gloves most of the time used with flip flops or formal boots but usually rode home - work, work- home, juz once to banglore as evident by 23k in 50+ months... so am clueless when it comes to gear... thanks for the info bro

A decent riding jacket, helmet and gloves should not cross 10k and those should be your priority.
