Those are my bike, car and home keysOriginally posted by vinbex View Post@cursed..keep the spare key at home..think its that what i see in the 1st pic..both the keys!
If I leave my bike keys on the bike, i come home i cant open the door cuz the bike has the key to my house (happened 3 times 6 years back when I came up with this) and same way on the way to the gym or smthng (tracks pockets can get slippery believe me) I cant drop my home keys cuz dey are on the bikes key chain (happened once)
The spares are all home
Thanks for the concern bro

Hey guys,
I have a query that only you guys can answer for me.
I currently own a yamaha fz16.
So i am considering buying the Ninja 250.One of the prime things in my requirements is the exhaust note.
I dont expect the superbike sound, but is there a significant difference from say a P220.I went to the showroom and heard the note at idling. Was not very impressed. That too for a twin cylinder.Still I might be wrong,I am sure the owners would clarify this?REVVADDICT

the stock ninja exhaust is super smooth. you want a blast the only choice is to go for aftermarket one.Mountain biking on impulse with my wife and our bike goes down in water

I'm one of the new Ninja250R owners. I think you're talking more about the tone of the engine and not the exhaust note. The tone is what you'd get from any twin cylinder. The engine has that twin cylinder throb that's distinctly different from a single cylinder engine. And what matters is the feel of the engine. The Ninja is not comparable to a P220. The former is a charactered engine - that is meant to be revved and has that twin cylinder growl at RPM's above 4k. The P220 however, is a commercially driven bike.Originally posted by vijeth v View PostHey guys,

If you need a seriously bassy exhaust note, you need an inline 4, or one of the larger V-twins for that rattle.
As far as clarifications go, trust me, the Ninja250R sounds very different right as it crosses 4000 rpm, and that sound, trust me, will bring a smile to anyone's face.sigpic

4 quick questions...
1. Am hearing some noise from the chain, its faint but I can definitely hear the chain, today I went with my friend and hence did not have my headphones plugged in which I usually do, so I don't know if this is normal and has been so from the start or is something that happened today... any thoughts?
2. What engine oil should I use for my 1st service, I have read thro atleast 200+ pages and I see people recommending motul but no links to order, is it available at stores in chennai? any help guys?
3. How long does the first service take? I read that we are allowed to stay while the bikes being serviced, is that standard or do we need to ask em for dat beforehand? Anything in particular that we need to watch out for?
4. Anyone from chennai bought an alarm system?

@Cursed: unless the chain is covered with dust, there's absolutely no chattering sound you can expect from it...next time try to notice, if it's coming from front of the bike...
You can stick to Bajaj's 10000 Dts-i oil, which is semi synthetic, at-least for now[like first 2-3 servicing]...unless you have an urge to buy and use Motul
In the service center, you will be told to collect the bike in the evening...gone are the early days of sales (2009), now your bike will be taken in for servicing just like the pulsars. So, I guess, you can't be waiting for 5-6 hours, to see some mech. starts working on your vehicle.
I ordered one Xena disc lock before I booked the bike...but that one was shipped late in India, and through eBay the deal was called off
after that, I didn't try for it, even though the item was in India. I felt okay parking wherever I go, without that lock. It's again your choice. Cost will be minimum 6.0K
Motorsport is fun. Safety is a mandate. Be in shape & ride long
