You can stick to Bajaj's 10000 Dts-i oil, which is semi synthetic, at-least for now[like first 2-3 servicing]...unless you have an urge to buy and use Motul

In the service center, you will be told to collect the bike in the evening...gone are the early days of sales (2009), now your bike will be taken in for servicing just like the pulsars. So, I guess, you can't be waiting for 5-6 hours, to see some mech. starts working on your vehicle.

I ordered one Xena disc lock before I booked the bike...but that one was shipped late in India, and through eBay the deal was called off after that, I didn't try for it, even though the item was in India. I felt okay parking wherever I go, without that lock. It's again your choice. Cost will be minimum 6.0K

Let me explain, say am doing 60 on 6th gear lite acceleration, i ease off the throttle without pulling the clutch , the left footpeg i feel a vibration for a second like smthn brushing against smthn... I dont think am being clear, if anyone can understand let me know ill test again today eve and post back and try to be clearer.

Where do I get motul oil?

So no option to wait and watch service? :'( did that once for the p220fi (they couldnt fix smthng the 1st time asked me to come in by 10 the next day, and still were working on it so was sitting next to the bike bugging the mechanic, nice guy, btw... got the bike by 6.30 pm so spent 8.5 hrs there )

Am paranoid about the bike safety, I dont understand what exactly happened with your ebay deal (might partly be cuz i havent slept all night and most things are a blur for me right now :P)

Thanks a lot for the info bro much appreciated

    • A little vibration of the fairing or near the tank area, is okay as your bike just shedding of excess stuff, and getting into shape ...Jokes apart, check the chain, if that's not too much dirty. I don't feel it's of much concern, otherwise.

Motul dealers are available in Central Chennai, behind LIC office area...or, in East Tambaram, couple of shops (from whatever I have seen). Other xBhp members from Chennai, can confirm. You can order that from PlanetDSG website also. Stick to semi-synthetic for now.

the eBay dealer made huge delay in getting the stuff and my eBay transaction was covered under PaisaPay security. The system itself calls off the deal, and return you the money, if the delivery doesn't happen within so-and-so date. I received mails from dealer after that but didn't approach.

Any decent lubricant dealer. If you are unable to find any dealer, you can post your requirement here - http://www.indiamart.com/atlantic-lubricants/

They will call you back in a day and convey the nearest dealer. If they do not have any dealer nearby, the distributor will deliver oil to your place. (Speaking from own experience)

You can. Ninja are given premium service priority and all service centres need to keep separate bays reserved for ninja. Only Bajaj trained and certified mechanics can work on ninja. Easiest option would be to call a day in advance to check whether those mechanics are swamped in other ninjas. Otherwise, you can walk in any day.

As the bike gets older, you should recover from this paranoia. I commute on my bike, park it anywhere without bothering at all and no one tampers or messes with it. Please understand that now a days Ninja is not such an exotic bike or alien attracting so much attention. (All bets are off if you have some enemies who are out to ruin your life by scratching, dropping your bike {even paranoids have enemies} )

            • @Cursed: Not all the lubricant shop in Chennai store Motul. You can try the near-by shop, though. Motul/Valvoline is limited to shops in some areas, only.

P.S. - If you find any good shop that keeps Motul or both, let me know as well. I might try that out. Beware of fake products and go through the XBhp, "engine oil" forum.

                • Thanks @TrustVishwas...brother, it's been a while, since you have posted about your rides on the Ninja. Guess, must be stuck up with other stuff. One info required...if you already switched the bike's engine oil to synthetic, then let me know when you did it...at what stage, I mean!!! n how does it feel since then?

                          • @Vinbex: You might already know this, just thought of telling: LS-2 helmets are available in Chennai shops, esp. near Thousand Lights. Those are good, which you might wanna try out. Or, AGV. Price could be a bit lesser than Airoh or, SOL, but nevertheless worth trying.
