P.S. - to finish off the atleast the first 800KM @4K, one suggestion is to get-away in the weekend...try the Chennai-B'lore or, Chennai-Trichy highways and keep riding...in few weekends you will b able to cover...but be patient to ride in limit
Bro riding to banglore at 60kmph? to be honest Ive thought about it, but dont know if I can restrain myself that long under 4k Gonna go to mahabs or pondy this weekend tho

Anyway the guy in the showroom told me something about need to use a spray with the chain every 500kms, any info on that bro?

    • To be honest, I rode and completed 700KMs in one day @4K...it was a bit crazy on my part, but I just wanted it to be over...riding at 5-6K is much more fun, in city...
The spray is nothing but the chain-lube. Bajaj sells OKS brand, I'm using that for past 4 years on my P220 and now using for Ninja as well...buy it (costs around 300/-), or, you can buy Motul chain spray...but only problem is Ninja doesn't have center-stand, so it pains to lube the chain. I might buy a rear-stand, but after few months.

Whered you do it? the 700kms?
Anywhere the chain lube can be ordered from? Can it be bought from other bajaj showrooms or is it limited to pbk? (pbk said they were out of stock)

So is the stand required to use the spray?

And one last question, by 300 you meant rs300 right?

Thanks for the info again bro

        • @johnnyrider,seems you have been busy with your ninja..we got our ninjas almost at the same time....u been around in the city??

          • @Cursed: :-) I went to Trichy and came back on that day.
The lube is available in almost all the Bajaj service centres, not only PBK. And yes, it's only 300 Rs. Motul might cost you a tad bit...but not much. The "can" will last for at-least 15 sprays...use it say, once in every 600-700 KM covered.

@Vinbex: you are right, bro...we got almost at the same time...since then I'm using it for daily ride to office and weekend(s) outing...though, some days for a change I ride on my P220. Kinda fun, switching between bikes...so, u see, haven't clocked much on the odo, in Ninja...around 2500Kms...how is it going for you? Had your first servicing done?

              • practically, I had the first one done after 1700KMs...change of oil, changing the oil filter and rest all are regular servicing works...I noticed rusting on the side plates of the chain, so asked them to clean it anyway... cost around 1,600/-

                • okay.i had only these two in mind.and yeah, the chain had mild rusting at 600kms itself, members here suggested i clean it and use the spray.i did it and it has been fine..

                  • so what's your friends from college telling about your new ride? Must be envying you right now!!! The bike grabs attention very easily...somehow I came to terms with the hard-resin seat...for long rides, it gives pain, but getting used to...

                      Ok will get it thanks

Any particular reason why you still keep your p220 around? (I have one too weighing down the pros and cons of selling it)

(If considered off topic pls pm me)

                        • @Cursed - It's an OT alright...the answer is very short. Want to have both and practically my mother doesn't want me to sell it also

I go to ritchie street a lot, have some work, assemble pcs part time and so on... p220 was a pain to park and leave alone, then think of the ninja

but then again you have a fair point, i clocked 23ks on my p220 in 4.5 years thats too low for one bike and def. doesnt warrant two... decisions, decisions...

@johnny gotcha.... end of topic not going OT anymore

Just when I convinced myself that Im gonna sell, there you go saying this... am back to square one

I avoid taking my bike to theatres, long back I got a dent on my p150 fuel tank (about 6 years back I guess) @ Abirami Complex (I think it was ethiree), ever since paranoid about theatres
