Thanks for the update vishwas sir.

I have ordered for a rolon chain today. Hopefully should get in a week or so.Got both the sprockets. Just bought them from probiking.Firstly they had it in stock and secondly i dint wan to wait till i turn 35 for the next set of sprockets to arrive!! The ninja 250r rear sprocket is 43!! I was like shocked. I always thought it is 14/45 standard. It was 14/43.

Now trying a 13/47 is going to be some serious fun

Orion Yamaha near Forum Mall, Blore, has quite a few of these helmets (they are retailers for Bachoo Motors) and i particularly had my eyes set on the Speed Fire One (link). The helmet is lighter than my SparX and the paint quality, fit and finish, graphics is excellent. This particular model is priced very reasonably too (around Rs. 7.5k at Orion) compared to the price of Rs. 8.5k i paid for my SparX. I was so tempted that i almost bought this lid. It looks really awesome in the flesh.
Orion also has HJC helmets at a festive price until stocks last. The HJC's are on sale for 7k onwards and there is a Rs. 500/- off on purchase of each HJC lid until stocks last. These are DOT certified.

Personally i am not a fan of the graphics on the HJC's but for those who are on the lookout for a good helmet this price and the ongoing offer should be helpful.
      Hi Aditya,

Is there lesser wind noise in the airoh helmet? I have an LS2 and there is a lot of windnoise and other than the 3m ear plugs, I dont know what to do. Any suggestions other than getting a larger replacement windshield from PUIG or someone else?

As some of you may know, Bachoo Motors is the sole distributor in India for RJays products (gear, luggage, helmets, etc.) and is also now a distributor for Airoh Helmets, Italy. Here is a link to the official Airoh helmets website.

I searched for reviews on Airoh helmets here, but couldn't find any.

Most imported helmets are manufactured in China or Korea or some other Asian country (A* products are mass produced in China, my bionic knee guards are genuine A* but made in China) but the Airoh's are Made in Italy and are DOT certified.

I would highly recommend this helmet in lieu of SparX, KBC, etc. for the price point at which it is offered.

Any chain will rust if not cleaned and lubed properly - the OKS works just fine. If the rust is all over, get a chain service done at PBK. You can also do it yourself by cleaning with some diesel and then lubing with the OKS.

                            • Ownership Transfer

About three months after taking bluevolt's Ninja off his hands, I finally completed the ownership transfer (within Bangalore). I'd call it part of my ownership experience so I'm describing it here hoping it might help someone who is as clueless as I was. I ended up doing multiple trips to the RTO but, if done right, it's a half day process.

A couple of links that may help-

                              The obvious-
                              - Find out which RTO covers your address
                              - Carry required documents
                              - Carry enough change
                              - Find out exactly how they want the application organized (in a paper file etc)
                              - You should be done in half a day if you do it right (or three days if you do it wrong :-|)

                              Everything-
                              - Figure out which RTO is your "home RTO". Going by the registration number, I first went to K'mangala but turned out I needed to go to KR Puram because they cover my residential address.
                              - Carry necessary documents. Two "originals" of form 29, one of form 30. Copy of valid emission certificate, insurance, address proof (BSNL bill works), self-addressed envelope (more on that later). Affix photo of self on form 29. Carry originals, tax recipt etc., just in case. Outstation transfers will require NOC from current RTO and I think you have to pay road tax depending on duration of stay. Don't know if you need to produce vehicle for inspection for outstation transfers. I didn't have to.
                              - The two wheeler section is on the second floor so it's a good idea to have everything ready or you'll spend a morning climbing up and down the stairs like I did. The KRPuram has a cute little cartel with the shop downstairs. They probably won't accept any self addressed envelopes you bring. The first thing you should do on your way up is buy the envelope, a paper file and a little plastic cover for the original RC card/book at the shop.
                              - Upstairs, the first step is to go to the guy at the far end. He'll look at your documents and scribble in a pink pen. Next you go to a lady for "data entry". After that you go down to the cash counter and pay the fees (~270 for me). Carry change or you'll have to go searching for some. Carry sunscreen or you'll get a serious tan. Go back upstairs to the "biometric section" to get a picture taken. They will put a sticker on your papers when done. They just gave me the sticker because I'd already pasted a photograph. You'll then have to get your papers signed by another RTO official and submit it to another official will accept your papers and give you an acknowledgement. It will take them upto one month to send you the new RC card. I got mine in three weeks.
                              - The KR Puram RTO is closed every second Saturday of the month and they only work half a day on other Saturdays though it's officially a full day. Best to get there early around 1000-1030.
When the body wanders, the mind rests.
